Hogwarts: Don't call me the Staff Maker
Chapter 752 Animagus
Chapter 752 Animagus
Mad-Eye Moody didn't want Mrs. Weasley to go see Bill and Charlie, not only because George needed care, but also for another important reason: the secret keeper of the Burrow happened to be Molly Weasley.
So as long as she is in the Burrow, it is the safest place in the entire wizarding world. Even if Voldemort were to block the door, he wouldn't be able to get in.
Mrs. Weasley was clearly aware of this, so when Sirius stepped forward, she hesitated for a moment, but ultimately nodded in agreement.
"And me too."
Harry then took a step forward. "Bill and Charlie are in danger because of me; I should help."
"No, no way!" This time, Mrs. Weasley refused without even thinking. "Harry, you're the only one who can't leave here."
"But----"
"No buts." Mrs. Weasley's tone left no room for argument.
"Harry, we were prepared to die before we set out, but even if we all get killed, it will all be worth it as long as we can get you out!"
Listening to Mrs. Weasley's calm yet firm words, Harry felt as if something was stuck in his throat.
He disagreed with Mrs. Weasley. Of all the people present—Mad-Eye Moody, Kingsley, Lupin, Sirius—Harry didn't think he deserved so many people to die for him.
But what he found even more unacceptable was that everyone in the Burrow had an unusually calm expression, as if they didn't think there was anything wrong with Mrs. Weasley's words.
While he was still in a daze, Mr. Weasley and Sirius had already walked out of the house.
"I'll go help too," Xilun said, following him out of the humble dwelling.
"No!" Sirius Black and Mr. Weasley stopped almost simultaneously.
In their view, Hillon, like Harry, is a future that needs protection and should not be risked at this time.
However, before they could continue speaking, Xilun had already steadily mounted the Thestral in the yard—this operation involved more than just flying brooms, after all, not everyone can ride a flying broom well.
Just like Hagrid, who rode a motorcycle, and Mr. Weasley's flying talent was far inferior to that of his own children. To ensure everything went smoothly, Mad-Eye had Hagrid bring two Thestrals from Hogwarts.
Since Siren didn't particularly like riding brooms, Thestrals were a perfect fit for him.
"No, Sirius, this has nothing to do with you," Mr. Weasley said, frowning. "I cannot agree to you taking this risk."
"I don't think so," Siron shrugged.
The next second, he transformed into a black cat and landed steadily on the Thestral's back.
Sirius, who was about to say something, was stunned by what he saw. He stared at Sirius with his mouth agape in disbelief.
"Even if your shapeshifting skills are superb, I will still—"
"No, Arthur, it's not Transfiguration," Sirius interrupted Mr. Weasley.
"It's Animagus."
"How is that possible!" Mr. Weasley shook his head instinctively. "How old is Siron? How could he possibly have learned such an extremely difficult spell as Animagus!"
"I can guarantee that," Sirius's voice was hoarse, "and judging from his proficiency—he's been learning this magic for at least two years!"
This was the conclusion he found most unbelievable.
As an Animagus himself, Sirius knew all too well how difficult this magic was. Sirius was at least a fifth-year Animagus to be able to transform so naturally.
Fifth grade, a year earlier than him and James.
But how could that be possible?
Sirius raised an eyebrow, but did not correct Sirius's statement.
In fact, he learned Animagus in his second year, but no one would believe it if he said it, except Professor McGonagall.
Of course, if Professor McGonagall hadn't seen it with her own eyes, she probably wouldn't have believed it either.
"Do you believe me now? I'm not incapable of protecting myself." Xilun transformed back into himself and gently patted Thestral's neck.
Upon receiving the order, the Thestral immediately spread its wings and quickly flew into the air.
"Hurry up, the new students will be buying wands tomorrow. I need to find them as soon as possible, because I have to get back to Diagon Alley."
This time, Mr. Weasley and Sirius didn't say anything more. They immediately mounted another Thestral and took the lead.
It wasn't until the three people completely disappeared into the night sky that the people in the humble dwelling finally realized what had happened.
"Wait a minute, what did Siren just do?" Ron rubbed his eyes in confusion. "He turned himself into a cat—doesn't that look familiar?"
"Animagus," Hermione whispered.
"What?"
"Professor McGonagall!" Hermione raised her voice. "Professor McGonagall's Animagus is a cat, and Siron's transformation is exactly the same as when she demonstrated this magic."
"I knew it! Yes, I guessed right! Siren really is an Animagus! That's why he could easily enter the Slytherin common room and eavesdrop on Snape and Malfoy's conversation—oh, I should have realized it sooner!"
"Is this magic difficult?" Harry asked in a low voice.
Judging from Hermione's performance, it must have been very difficult for the Animagus, but perhaps because there were so many successful examples around him, Harry's feelings weren't particularly strong.
Sirius Black is an Animagus, along with his father and that damned traitor Peter Pettigrew.
Moreover, like Xilun, they all learned this magic before graduating.
Besides, magic that even Peter Pettigrew could learn shouldn't be that difficult, so why are the others so surprised?
Harry glanced behind him.
Mad-Eye Moody had just ripped off his demon eye and was rubbing it vigorously on his clothes.
Mrs. Weasley, who was feeding George water, was completely unaware that she had poured all the water into George's nostrils, and even George himself did not notice.
"I know what you're thinking."
At that moment, Lupin walked up behind Harry and gently patted him on the shoulder.
"Although Peter is a two-faced traitor and a fickle villain, it must be admitted that he is not incompetent. Would you befriend a fool?"
Harry shook his head, then nodded.
Although it's not nice to say it that way, his relationship with Neville was indeed quite good.
"Uh—" Lupin paused for a moment, "What about Sirius?"
This time, Harry immediately shook his head.
"That's what I'm trying to say: Peter wasn't stupid. Besides, he must have genuinely and desperately wanted to learn Animagus because only then could he stay with us."
"This intense emotion was, to some extent, key to his ability to learn Animagus."
Harry nodded, seemingly understanding.
However, he understood Lupin's meaning. Animagus was indeed an extremely difficult spell, so after Sirius demonstrated it, neither Mr. Weasley nor Sirius had any objections.
"But I seem to remember that it's illegal to have an unregistered Animagus." At that moment, someone muttered quietly, "Did Xilun register?"
In an instant, everyone's eyes turned to Kingsley.
Under everyone's gaze, this member of the Order of the Phoenix, the head of the Auror office, and a candidate for the next Minister of Magic, slowly raised his hand and rubbed his eyes vigorously.
"Sorry, the Death Eaters' dark magic made me dizzy. What just happened?"
