Hogwarts: Don't call me the Staff Maker
Chapter 751 Bill and Charlie's Absence
Chapter 751 Bill and Charlie's Absence
Soon, Alastor Moody and Ron returned, and the Burrow became crowded again.
The voices woke George from his coma. He touched the side of his head with his fingers, looked at the concerned eyes of the people around him, and naturally smiled.
"Now you can finally tell me apart from Fred."
He seemed to be trying to ease the heavy atmosphere around him with this joke.
"It's only temporary," Fred said with a smile. "Once Dad gets the Restoration Potion from St. Mungo's, he can make your ears grow back."
"Your words of comfort are full of holes, brother." George raised an eyebrow. "I'm under a dark spell; potions are useless against me."
"Oh? Are you sure?"
"Of course, I—" George seemed to realize something and reached out to touch the side of his head again.
No, the chilling, bone-chilling pain from before was gone. Although he could still clearly feel that he was missing an ear, it didn't hurt anymore.
With a gentle touch, the wound had completely healed.
"Surprised, aren't you?" Fred said with a smile, telling George what had just happened.
After hearing this, George's eyes lit up, and he looked at Xilen with gratitude.
"Thank you!" he said sincerely.
Although he acted nonchalantly just now, it was mostly to reassure everyone. After all, who really doesn't care about losing an ear?
"It's no big deal," Siron said.
Meanwhile, Harry and the others nearby were also discussing George's ears, but they were talking about what kind of magical potion could make ears grow out of thin air.
None of the potions they had learned about before could do this, not even those in the books—Hermione remembered it very clearly.
"I don't know either, maybe it's some kind of potion similar to Boneglyph," Ron said. "Since Boneglyph can regrow bones, it doesn't seem strange that a potion can regrow ears. And judging from Dad's tone just now, this kind of potion shouldn't be anything rare in St. Mungo's."
"But how come I've never heard of it before?" Hermione frowned. In her opinion, such a miraculous potion must be very famous, and there was no reason why she wouldn't know about it.
"Probably because we didn't need it before," Harry shrugged.
Hermione opened her mouth, but had to admit that Harry was right.
Despite experiencing various frights every year—Two-Face in the first year, Basilisk in the second, Dementors in the third—they always manage to escape danger at crucial moments. And even if they get injured, a trip to the school clinic is usually enough for them to be fully recovered by the next day.
"Okay—are we all back?" she asked, changing the subject.
Harry looked up and glanced around the Burrow.
"Bill and Charlie haven't arrived yet," Harry said. "I remember they were the third to leave, riding brooms from the south."
“That’s right, so they should be the third to return to the Burrow.” Mad-Eye Moody, who had overheard them, took a pocket watch out of his pocket.
"But they're already seven minutes late."
Besides Harry and his friends, the others naturally noticed the two who hadn't returned yet.
Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, who had just breathed a sigh of relief, were now on edge again.
"Arthur, Molly, don't worry, everything will be alright," Lupin reassured softly. "Bill and Charlie are both experienced fighters; together, they can handle any Death Eater except for Mystic."
"That's right." Harry nodded quickly, then added, "And Voldemort—"
"Harry!" Lupin interrupted him, his face serious, "It's not brave at all to mention that name now; it's foolish."
Harry's face flushed slightly.
He almost forgot that as soon as someone uttered that name, Voldemort could immediately detect their location and then send Death Eaters to release the Dark Mark.
The Order of the Phoenix went to such great lengths, mobilizing all its members and using two different Portkeys, all to prevent Voldemort from knowing his whereabouts.
If he had pronounced that name in its entirety, everything the Order of the Phoenix had done would have been for naught.
"I'm sorry." Harry's face turned even redder, and he lowered his head, not daring to look at Mad-Eye Moody. One could imagine that the blue demonic eye was staring intently at him at that moment.
Fortunately, Mad-Eye Moody just stared at Harry without saying anything else.
"Alright, Mysterious Man—" Harry breathed a sigh of relief. This was the first time he had used that title, just as most wizards would never address Voldemort by his full name, only in reverse.
It feels a little awkward, but it's acceptable.
"What I'm trying to say is that the Mystic finally recognized me and immediately gave chase," Harry continued. "But we were going in the exact opposite direction from Bill and the others, so the Mystic definitely wouldn't have gone after them."
"That's right." Hagrid nodded with lingering fear; he wanted brandy again. A normal bottle looked like a small glass in his hand; a bottle was really too little.
But in this situation—
Hagrid shook his head without speaking, once again trying to shrink himself into a corner as much as possible to avoid taking up too much space.
The Weasley children did breathe a slight sigh of relief at Harry's words of comfort.
Just as Lupin said, Bill and Charlie were both experienced wizards. After all, being a spellbreaker in the pyramids or a dragon keeper in the dragon sanctuary were among the most dangerous jobs in the magical world. Yet they had managed to do them with ease for seven or eight years, which speaks volumes about their abilities.
As long as they don't encounter Voldemort, the other Death Eaters might not be a match for them, not even Barty Crouch Jr. and Bellatrix.
However, as time passed, there was still no sound from outside, and the atmosphere in the humble dwelling became tense again.
"No, I have to go find them!"
Five minutes later, Mr. Weasley, who was restless, finally couldn't stand it anymore and stood up to leave.
"Don't stop me, Mad-Eye! I can't sit here and not think about anything. I can't!"
"I didn't mean to stop you, Arthur," Mad-Eye Moody said in a deep voice. "I just meant it's too risky for you to go alone."
"Me too!" Mrs. Weasley immediately said.
"No, Molly, you have to stay here. George needs someone to take care of him, and you're the only one suitable."
"I don't need to—" George opened his mouth.
He wanted to say that he didn't need to be taken care of, but it seemed that no one cared about his opinion.
“Mad-Eye is right, Molly, you should stay at the Burrow,” Sirius Black volunteered. “Arthur and I will go together.”
