Hogwarts: I will not become the Dark Lord

#102 - It must have been Malfoy!

“So we will buy you time. You are indeed very powerful now, but it's not enough. At least you have to be able to defeat me and Gellert!”

Jerry: “……”

Sigh, the way you put it, Snape would want to wash his hair to clear his head!

“It's getting late, you should go back to class! I will investigate the attack, and I'll let you know if there's any news!”

“Okay then! Professor, I'll go back now!”

After Jerry said goodbye to Dumbledore, he left the headmaster's office.

……

Noon, in the Great Hall.

Hermione immediately ran over when she saw Jerry. The two of them hadn't been in class together that morning.

“Jerry, did you get any news from Professor Dumbledore?”

“No, but don't worry, Dumbledore will take care of it!” Jerry said after taking a sip of pumpkin juice. “Hermione, where did today's attack happen? Did anyone see it?”

“It was in the corridor on the second floor of the castle, not far from where Filch's cat was attacked last time. No one saw who did it, but Parvati was not far away at the time!”

“Where's Parvati?” Jerry scanned around.

“There! Parvati, over here!”

Hermione pointed to the Ravenclaw table. Parvati was talking to a Ravenclaw student who looked almost exactly like her.

“Jerry, let me introduce you, this is my twin sister Padma Patil. You… is there something you need me for?” Parvati led her sister over.

“Hello, I'm Jerry Green, a Slytherin student.”

After speaking, Parvati took Ginny's scattered books from her bag.

Jerry took them and looked. There was a Potions textbook, a Transfiguration textbook, and an old diary with a faded cover.

Jerry gently opened the first page of the diary, and a blurry name came into view—Tom Riddle. The ink had faded, and the handwriting was a bit blurry.

“What's wrong? Is there a problem?” Hermione asked curiously, seeing Jerry repeatedly examining a blank diary.

“Phew~ It's nothing. I'll give these books to Ron later!” Jerry said, shaking his head as he gripped the diary tightly.

He had underestimated the temptation of the Horcrux.

From the moment he took the diary, Jerry felt as if there was a tempting voice in his mind, like an invisible hand gently plucking at his heartstrings, constantly urging him to devour the Horcrux as soon as possible.

“Then I'll leave these books with you. Padma and I will go first!” After speaking, Parvati hurriedly pulled her sister's hand and left the hall without waiting for them to reply.

In the corridor, Padma shook off Parvati's hand, “Sis, why were you in such a hurry to leave!”

“Isn't it because you were too embarrassing!” Parvati said angrily, “Your eyes were fixed on Jerry the whole time, and they never left. Hermione glared at you several times, didn't you notice?”

Padma: “……”

……

“Those sisters are really strange!” Jerry scratched his head and smiled awkwardly.

Hermione: “Heh heh!”

“Jerry, Hermione, good afternoon!”

Harry, Ron, and Neville walked over listlessly.

“What's wrong with you guys? Why are you so dispirited? Isn't Ginny alright?”

“We just ran into Snape,” Neville said, still a little frightened, “He warned us that he would be watching us closely. It was terrifying!”

“That's good, you guys don't have to worry about being attacked!”

“Don't joke around, Jerry. I even think Professor Snape is more terrifying!” Neville looked around and then said in a low voice.

Jerry knew that Neville was very afraid of Snape, so he didn't continue to tease him. He handed the textbooks in his hand to Ron, while he kept the Horcrux.

“Parvati gave these to me. They are Ginny's books that she dropped this morning!”

“Thank you!”

“Jerry, do you think Malfoy did it! Is he the Heir?” Harry, who had been silent with his head down, suddenly spoke.

“Huh? Why?”

“This morning, Professor Binns in History of Magic told us about the Chamber of Secrets. The founder of Slytherin built the Chamber to purify the school and eliminate all wizards of Muggle origin who were not worthy of learning magic.”

“But what does that have to do with Malfoy?”

“Malfoy is a Slytherin student, and don't you think Salazar Slytherin's ideas are very similar to the pure-blood theory that Malfoy usually talks about?”

Jerry sighed helplessly. Of course, it's similar. Where do you think the current pure-blood theory comes from? It's a classic case of the son resembling the father, reversing the natural order!

“I'm also a Slytherin student. Aren't you afraid that I'm the Heir of the Chamber?”

“No,” Harry said confidently, “Jerry, you're different from other Slytherin students. You're kinder, braver, and wouldn't do such a thing!”

Hey, kid, you're just telling the truth!

“So, what do you want to do?” Jerry asked.

The three of Harry scratched their heads, looking at each other. “How about we call Malfoy out and ask him?”

Jerry, Hermione: “……”

“Even if you call Malfoy out, do you think he'll tell the truth?” Hermione covered her forehead, looking at the three of Harry as if they were idiots.

“Actually, there is a way!”

“Jerry, you're not talking about Polyjuice Potion, are you! Isn't that a bit too dangerous, and it probably violates fifty school rules.”

“Polyjuice Potion, what's that?” The three of them looked at Jerry and Hermione with puzzled expressions, completely unaware of what they were talking about.

“Professor Snape mentioned it in Potions class. It can temporarily change your appearance and turn you into another person. Think about it, if you become three Slytherin students, Malfoy might tell you the truth!”

“That's great, Hermione, can you brew the potion? Please!”

Hermione glanced at Jerry. After seeing him nod, she said, “I heard Professor Snape mention the recipe. It's in a book called 'Most Potent Potions' in the restricted section. If you can find a way to get the recipe, I can try to brew it!”

“The restricted section? Harry, can your Invisibility Cloak work?” Ron asked, looking at Harry.

“Ron, I don't think we need it, because we have an extremely foolish professor!”
