Hogwarts: I will not become the Dark Lord

#101 - So big and so fragrant!

In the early winter dawn, the first day of November quietly arrived. A gentle breeze, carrying a hint of coolness, rustled through the air as Hogwarts Castle stood partially veiled in the light morning mist.

“Is it true?”

“Yes, they’ve already taken her to the hospital wing!”

“That’s terrible, could it be that we…”

After getting up, washing, and heading to the Great Hall, Jerry frowned, noticing the unusually tense atmosphere. Almost everyone wore hurried expressions, whispering amongst themselves. An unsettling aura permeated the air.

“Jerry, over here!”

“What happened? What’s wrong with everyone?” Jerry asked, reaching Hermione and gesturing towards the anxious students around them.

“This morning, Ron’s sister, Ginny, was attacked. Ron and Harry have both rushed to the hospital wing!” Hermione replied, her voice laced with worry.

“Are you sure it was Ron’s sister, Ginny Weasley?”

Jerry knew that Hogwarts wouldn't be peaceful for a while, but he didn't expect Ginny Weasley to be attacked. Was it the Basilisk? Has Voldemort gone mad?

“What’s her condition? Was she petrified as well?”

“I don’t know,” Hermione shook her head. “I heard she’s in a coma!”

Could it be the Apostles? Jerry wondered inwardly.

Voldemort needs to use Ginny Weasley to resurrect, so he shouldn't want anything to happen to her right now. And since she wasn’t killed or petrified, it probably wasn't the Basilisk.

“Let’s go to the hospital wing and see Ginny!”

Jerry nodded in agreement, eager to find out what had happened.

“Wait a moment, I forgot something in my dormitory. I need to go back and get it. Hermione, you go to the hospital wing first! I’ll be there soon!”

Jerry, who had originally planned to go to the hospital wing with Hermione, immediately realized that things weren't so simple when he saw Catherine appear in the Great Hall.

Catherine rarely moved around the castle, let alone appeared in the crowded Great Hall.

“Alright! Jerry, I’ll go ahead, I’ll wait for you at the hospital wing!”

After seeing Hermione off, Jerry gave Catherine a look, signaling her to meet him in the private lounge before leaving the Great Hall.

“Why the rush to find me? Is it about what happened this morning?” Jerry asked impatiently as soon as he entered the private lounge.

“That’s right, Your Eminence! Ginny Weasley was attacked by the Basilisk this morning!”

“The Basilisk? Are you sure?” Jerry looked at her in disbelief. “You mean Voldemort did it? How is that possible!”

“Your Eminence, it wasn’t Voldemort. The Horcrux is still in Ginny Weasley’s possession. We currently don’t know why the Basilisk would act on its own.”

“Your Eminence, could it be… After all, besides you and Voldemort, he’s the only one with Parseltongue ability.” Catherine said, watching Jerry sink into thought on the sofa.

“It shouldn’t be him. Harry Potter’s Parseltongue ability isn’t as good as mine; he can’t command the Basilisk!” Jerry shook his head. “Besides the three of us, are there any other Parselmouths?”

“Absolutely not. Voldemort is the last descendant of the Gaunt family.”

“Don’t take any action without authorization. Dumbledore should be in the hospital wing right now. I’ll go find him to confirm a few things. I’ll come find you tonight!” Jerry said after a moment.

“Catherine understands!”

Inside the hospital wing, there were already many people when Jerry entered. Besides Dumbledore and a few of the Heads of House, the four Weasley brothers also stood anxiously to the side.

“How is she?” Jerry asked, entering and patting Hermione on the shoulder from behind.

“Madam Pomfrey said she’s fine. She was just frightened and fainted. She should wake up soon!”

“That’s good!” Jerry said, offering words of comfort, but he was somewhat surprised. He didn’t expect her to be unharmed after being attacked by the Basilisk.

Could it be that Voldemort directed the Basilisk to deliberately scare Ginny Weasley? Jerry wondered inwardly.

Madam Pomfrey walked in with a potion and shooed everyone out.

“Hermione, go back with them first. I have some things to discuss with Professor Dumbledore!”

Hermione nodded in agreement. She knew about Jerry’s relationship with Dumbledore, so he was probably going to ask about Ginny’s situation.

“I’m here, Jerry!”

“You knew I was looking for you?” Jerry asked, looking at Dumbledore by the wall.

“Sometimes your thoughts are quite predictable,” Dumbledore shrugged and said with a smile, “You have a greater curiosity than anyone else! Let’s go, we’ll talk in the Headmaster’s office. This isn’t the place to talk!”

Jerry didn’t refute, but followed him to the Headmaster’s office.

“This attack is different from the last one!” Dumbledore said as soon as they entered the Headmaster’s office.

“No, they were both done by the Basilisk.”

Upon hearing Jerry’s words, Dumbledore’s expression instantly turned serious. He abandoned his previous relaxed attitude and instead looked at Jerry with a solemn gaze.

“Why are you looking at me like that! I didn’t do it!”

What do you mean! Am I such a cruel person? Jerry thought to himself.

Dumbledore: “…”

Judging by Dumbledore’s expression, he probably also knew that the Horcrux was in Ginny’s possession. He’s so carefree; he’s not afraid something will happen!

“I’m not suspecting you! According to you, besides the Voldemort Horcrux in Ginny’s possession, the only one capable of doing that is… Harry!”

“That’s not possible. Although Harry is sometimes very much like a young Voldemort, there are some things that Harry has that Voldemort doesn’t!” Dumbledore shook his head.

Ah, right, right, right! Compared to Harry, Voldemort really doesn’t have a nose, or eyebrows, or hair!

“Jerry, are you sure it wasn’t the Apostles?”

“I asked before I came here; it wasn’t them!”

Dumbledore sat on the sofa, sighed, and fell silent.

Jerry knew from Dumbledore’s appearance that he wouldn’t be able to get any useful information. If he knew that I could also speak Parseltongue, I wonder if he would be suspicious!

Let’s change the subject! Otherwise… Jerry, you said you couldn’t speak Parseltongue!

“Professor, the Basilisk is too dangerous. Sooner or later, something will happen in Hogwarts. Why don’t you just eliminate it?”

“Not yet. Besides, the Basilisk is Harry’s task. Jerry, you don’t need to worry about it; you just need to focus on the Horcruxes.”

Jerry really couldn’t figure out what this old man was thinking!

“Professor, I don’t understand. Is Harry that important? Knowing about the Horcruxes, Voldemort shouldn’t be difficult to deal with for you and Grindelwald!”

“Jerry, with you here, I’m not worried even if Voldemort resurrects. It’s just the Apostles… Jerry, do you know that before you, there were two other beings similar to you?”

“I know,” Jerry frowned and said, “Catherine has already told me!”

“But the problem is that the Apostles have no records of them. No one knows who they were, what they did, or what happened to them in the end!”

Jerry had also been thinking about this. The last time he asked Catherine, she claimed that she had told Jerry everything she knew, and from her expression, she didn’t seem to be lying.

But according to what she said, since the birth of the Apostle organization, the people of the Ferres family have always served as Archbishops, so even if there are no records, her family should know something.

So either Catherine lied to him, or Kevin Ferres or these few Bishops have a problem!

But the Apostle pie is really too big and too tempting, who wouldn't want a piece!

Moreover, everyone in the organization is talented and speaks so nicely!
