As he spoke, Howard scoffed. The blue horse beneath him seemed to awaken a demon, its eyes suddenly blazing with azure flames, and its hooves glowing with eerie fire, instantly evaporating the rainwater flowing on the road into gas.
"Azure Flame Ghost Horse" is his special ability, which summons an extremely fast and terrifyingly powerful horse. When he is riding the horse, all the damage he receives will be transferred to the horse.
In that split second, the monstrous horse beneath Howard reared up, raising its front hooves to stomp on the dark gold staff that Black Wukong was attacking.
Amidst the torrential rain, a tremendous force blew away the fine raindrops within a radius of several meters, causing the earth to crack open with countless fissures. Ghost Horse's other two hooves sank slightly. Seeing that Ghost Horse's strength was comparable to Black Wukong's, Howard immediately raised his gun and pulled the trigger, aiming directly at Black Wukong's face.
Bang-!
The shot was so close that there was no time to react.
But Black Wukong reacted swiftly, narrowing her fiery golden eyes slightly. With a slight flick of her staff, her body was thrown backward amidst the violent hum of the metal. She spun in mid-air. Holding the staff with both hands, the rain-soaked shaft instantly began to spin at high speed, while raging Samadhi True Fire ignited at both ends of the staff.
"Dancing Stick Flower"—she had used this move against the witch Black Rose before, and now she was using it again.
The next moment, Samadhi True Fire surged out like a raging river from the spinning staff, meeting the bullet fired by Howard. Then, the two violent flames collided, and the resulting intense heat evaporated the air within a ten-meter radius.
Before long, a dangerous figure slowly emerged from the rising turbid white gas. Black Wukong lowered his slightly cracked mask, and with a slight shake of his staff, the white mist vanished into nothingness.
Her pupils gleamed with a fierce, crimson-gold light, like a wild beast ready to devour its prey.
"What kind of monster is this..."
Watching this scene, Howard secretly hissed, forcing a smile, but cold sweat dripped down his forehead.
He yelled at Stroll, "Hurry up, Stroll!"
After saying that, he was about to turn his horse to create distance from Black Wukong when he suddenly turned his head and saw the magical girl Ash raise her magic umbrella Cinderella and shoot a devastating beam of magical light from the tip of the umbrella towards Strow's figure.
"Let her go—!"
The girl in the gothic dress glared angrily, her cold voice piercing through the rain and striking straight to the heart.
Immediately afterwards, the beam of light roared like an unstoppable beast, tearing through the rain and fire in its path, hysterically engulfing Strow's silhouette.
Sterling paused slightly, turned her face to the side, and reflected the beam of light coming towards her in her indifferent pupils.
The world seemed to have been magically dyed gray; traffic lights, billboards, everything lost its luster.
Stroll was right next to the pillar of magic light, about to be engulfed by it. Yet, she remained completely calm.
Because she believed in her heart that someone would come to save her.
No matter how far...
That person will definitely come.
Suddenly, a two-meter-tall giant shadow stomped off the ground with a sonic boom and shot towards Stroll, raising its heavy greatsword to block her way, like an impenetrable wall.
Flinx gritted his teeth, his greatsword trembling violently, his hands gripping the hilt splitting open with sharp, bloody gashes. Yet he stood firm like a beacon, resisting the gray demon before him that sought to devour all color.
Not long after, as the pillar of light dissipated, he breathed a sigh of relief, the blood flowing from his hands staining the greatsword's blade red.
He withstood my magic beam head-on? Ash was slightly taken aback, and only his hand was injured?
"Tch, are elementary school students this weak..." She stumbled to her feet, clutching her wound, and glanced at the blood-soaked black dragon, her heart burning with anxiety. "Even this big guy can't stop me... I have to find a way to get past these two and get close to Xiaoling to rescue her."
Thinking this, she quickly summoned her spellbook and took out several elemental spell cards from it in a disorderly manner, including a [Random Flash] and a [Gale], as well as the A-rank card [Void Shadow].
She crushed the five elemental magic cards in one go, then raised the tip of Cinderella's umbrella, aimed it at Flinx's body, put her finger on the trigger, and pulled it hard!
"You filthy bastard, get out of my way—!"
As the gothic-skirted girl's low growl subsided, five magic circles with intricate patterns appeared behind her, their colorful magic rippled across the patterns.
In the next instant, fireballs, earth spikes, wind blades, water columns, and lightning snakes simultaneously erupted from the magic circle suspended in mid-air, shooting towards Flinx's body.
To be honest, she rarely uses these cards, or rather, she disdains to use them. But she had just unleashed her ultimate move, "Magic Beam," and her magic power was now half-depleted. She had no choice but to rely on releasing the power of the cards to alleviate her predicament.
No sooner had one wave subsided than another arose. Before Flinx could catch his breath from the bombardment of the magical beam, a dazzling array of elemental attacks swept towards him.
Sterling hid behind Flinx, the two-meter-tall giant whose back resembled a mountain, shielding her from wind, rain, landslides, and tsunamis.
He raised his greatsword and roared as he slashed forward, unleashing a torrent of sword wind that swept outwards, carrying with it the reverse-flowing rainwater as it met the elemental light barrier!
In an instant, the glass windows of several clothing stores and restaurants along the street shattered. The mannequins used to display clothing broke in two and fell to the ground.
As the sword wind fell, the elemental attack formed by the five low-level magic cards disintegrated, turning into colorful turbulent currents that swept through the street, knocking several parasitic puppets to the ground.
But the magical girl Ash stubbornly kept pulling the trigger, and pale, powerless magical bullets burst out of the gun barrel wave after wave, heading straight for Flinx's head.
However, Flinx simply raised his sword and held it in front of him, deflecting the streams of bullets carrying gray light. Then, with a slight tremor of the blade, all the bullets spun to the ground like withered leaves, making a series of clattering sounds.
"No wonder he could beat up elementary school kids..."
Seeing this, Ash gritted her teeth, her rain-soaked face growing even more gloomy. She pulled the trigger to suppress the fire while charging forward, the flashes of gunfire from her billowing skirt flickering in the rain.
“Don’t come near me…” Flinx said in a deep voice, “I have no intention of killing you. Once we’ve taken that vampire’s heart, we’ll leave and never come near here again.”
"Shut up!" Ash roared, brandishing his longsword as he charged toward Flinx. "I don't care who you are, all of you get out of my sister's way—!"
Upon hearing this, Flinx took a deep breath, his eyes hardening slightly, and swung his heavy sword at the girl charging towards him.
However, just as she approached Flinx, Ash crushed the A-rank card "Void Shadow" in her hand. Then, her figure twisted into a blur of air, sweeping past Flinx like a whirlwind, instantly appearing behind him before reappearing.
"Oops……"
Flinx was taken aback at first, then turned around and saw that Ash was already rushing towards Sterling behind him.
Stroll raised an eyebrow slightly and glanced sideways at the girl in the gothic dress who was walking towards her.
"Get away from my sister!"
Ash growled as he raised his katana, channeling the last vestiges of magic within him, and slashed at Stroll's silhouette. The sharp blade, wreathed in a crescent-shaped light, radiated the color of embers, staining the raindrops clinging to its tip the same hue.
But at that very moment, an arrow shrouded in blood-red light shot in from afar.
Hearing the piercing sound of an arrow cutting through the air, the magical girl Ash turned her head sharply, glancing out of the corner of her eye. She saw that the long arrow was already inches away, almost impossible to dodge. Her pupils contracted to the size of wheat awns, reflecting the rain-soaked tip of the arrow.
In that less than half-second reaction time, she released the [Random Flash] she had been holding in her palm.
As the card shattered into tiny, glowing stars, the gothic-skirted girl vanished into the rain. The arrow then slashed past her spot, sending rain and air swirling in a scream.
"That was just now..."
Ash appeared at a street corner, kneeling on one knee, looking up at the source of the arrow—the glass curtain wall of a high-rise office building, where the figures of an archer in a raincoat and a swordsman in ninja attire crisscrossed like a gust of wind and lightning.
Even with her sharp eyesight, she couldn't see the two people's movements clearly, nor could she discern any details of their fight; she could only see the afterimages they left behind on the street.
In that instant, the Calamity Dragon rose from the asphalt road not far away, spread its cracked wings, roared, and leaped out of the ground, slamming into Flinx's side and carrying him more than ten meters away, carving a shocking ravine in the ground.
"Well done, elementary school student!"
The girl in the gothic dress thought to herself.
Seeing that Flinx had been taken away by Ke Yongzhu, and that Black Wukong was fighting Howard who was riding a ghost horse, Stroll was once again isolated and helpless. So Ash, holding a knife in his left hand and an umbrella in his right, bent down and rushed forward towards Bai Ziling's direction.
She lowered her face, her gloomy eyes reflecting Stroll, who was raising a dagger and digging towards Bai Ziling's chest. She raised the tip of her umbrella and let out a low growl.
"Don't even think about it!"
However, just as she was about to pull the trigger, Howard casually reversed his dual pistols, one barrel aimed at Black Wukong's flaming staff, and the other barrel aimed at the ashes charging past from behind.
"Oh!"
"Oh!"
Two shots rang out in quick succession, and two bullets shot out of Howard's gun barrel.
The first bullet was dodged by Black Goku with a slide tackle; the second bullet blocked the path of the magical girl Ash, the eerie blue sea of fire engulfing her vision, forcing her to raise her right arm to shield herself from the oncoming heat, thus obscuring her view ahead.
"Xiao Ling!"
Magical Girl Ash roared and charged into the fiery barrier blocking her way without hesitation.
But his body was instantly thrown several meters away by the aftershock, and his right arm was burned like a charred piece of dry wood, stark white to the bone, without a trace of blood.
Clutching her almost scorched right arm, her legs gave way and she collapsed to her knees. Her face turned deathly pale in that instant, and she lifted her eyes from her disheveled bangs. After a long while, she opened her mouth and roared silently at the dark blue flames, as if she wanted to tear her throat apart and her chest rupture.
"Little...Ling—!"
Tears welled up in her red eyes and slid down her pale cheeks.
The hysterical roar pierced through the rain and reached everyone's ears.
Ke Xiaomo and Link jumped back a bit, and after hearing the sound, they were slightly startled and suddenly turned their heads to look in the direction of the shout.
Black Wukong used his staff to lift the horse's head upwards, overturning the wild horse beneath Howard. Then, he changed his attack, bringing the golden cudgel down from above. The flaming blade struck Howard's right arm. Just as he was about to pull the trigger, Howard's entire arm was instantly burned apart by the Samadhi True Fire and flew out horizontally.
The moment he repelled Howard, Black Goku did not press his advantage, but instead turned his attention to the source of the roar.
She and Ke Xiaomo followed the gaze of the kneeling magical girl Ash, looking at the dark blue curtain of flames raging amidst the torrential rain.
however……
When the flames dissipated, what came into the three people's eyes was not the white-haired girl whose heart had been ripped out.
Just as Sterling was about to rip out the heart, her figure suddenly vanished from the spot, and the knife slid down from Bai Ziling's chest, falling into the rain.
Instead, in the instant Stroll disappeared, a boy wearing a gray T-shirt and sweatpants, with a gruesome wound on his shoulder, appeared in front of Bai Ziling.
He was breathing heavily, his hair was wet with rain, and his cold eyes were obscured by his bangs.
Sterling, who had instantly appeared not far away, raised an eyebrow slightly. She stared at Ke Mingye's figure for a long time before realizing what had happened in that half-second: "Spider-Man, did he use that position-swapping skill on me...?"
At this moment, tears still lingered in the eyes of the girl in the gothic dress. She knelt on the ground, staring blankly at Ke Mingye's profile, her pale lips moving slightly.
"Brother...?"
