Before Yuan Feiri could finish speaking, the conference room door was pushed open.

"Lord Hokage, we haven't voted yet!"

At that moment, two Jonin walked in from outside.

"You're still alive?"

Hiruzen Yuan Fei spoke up, recognizing the two ninjas. Logically, they should have been silenced; how could they be here? Hiruzen Yuan Fei suddenly looked at Orochimaru, who had been sitting quietly.

Orochimaru gave Hiruzen Sarutobi a smile, and that smile said it all: Orochimaru had saved them both.

"What are your choices?"

Yuan Fei Hiruzen asked, "This is Konoha's rule; any Jonin can vote."

The two ninjas said in unison.

Minato, Jiraiya, and the ninjas who supported Minato were all shocked; the reversal had come too quickly. They had just thought victory was in their grasp, only to be dealt a crushing blow and brought back to reality.

Yuan Fei Ri Zhan slumped in his chair. From the moment the two ninjas entered, he knew he had lost. All his plans and the underlying exchanges of benefits had completely failed. He had underestimated his student; the younger generation truly surpasses the older. The two advisor elders also refused to accept this reality.

"Teacher, it's time to announce the results."

Orochimaru spoke in a calm and unhurried tone.

"You made me worry for nothing, Orochimaru-senpai."

Carrot, however, began to complain. He had just been worried that Orochimaru would miss out on the Hokage position, but then things took a dramatic turn.

"I hereby announce that Orochimaru is the Fourth Hokage."

After Yuan Fei finished speaking, his body seemed to have all his strength drained away.

"Lord Orochimaru."

The ninjas who supported Orochimaru began to cheer; this was their victory.

"I will take over three days later."

This was Orochimaru's first order after taking power.

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

The ninja in the conference room accepted the order. Everything is now set in stone.

"Minato. Don't be sad. You still have a chance."

As Jiraiya walked out of the Hokage Building, he patted Minato on the shoulder to comfort him. He had witnessed Minato's efforts over the past few days. He just hadn't expected Orochimaru to be a cut above the rest.

"Don't worry, teacher, I will try my best."

Minato forced out an ugly expression and said.

This made Jiraiya even more distressed. In just a few minutes, Minato experienced the process of going from hope to realization to destruction.

"Ugh."

Jiraiya didn't know how to comfort his apprentice, so he could only accompany him home.

"Boom."

As soon as Minato entered the gate, Kushina, Obito, and Rin fired a salute.

"Welcome back."

Today is the day Minato competes for Hokage, and Kushina has specially prepared a celebration banquet for him.

An awkward silence fell over the room; neither Minato, Jiraiya, nor Kakashi showed any signs of triumph. Even the usually oblivious Kushina sensed something was amiss.

"Didn't it work?"

"Ah."

"If we don't succeed this time, we can wait for next time. You're still young, you can outlast Orochimaru."

"Carrot, our era is about to begin."

Orochimaru and Karot stood on the Hokage Rock, overlooking the entire village.

Seeing the village thriving and the smiles on people's faces, Carrot wanted to protect this happiness.

"By the way, Lord Orochimaru, what are your plans for the Third Hokage and the two advisors?"

Yuan Fei Ri Zhan addressed his two old friends. He knew his disciple's personality very well.

"Why should we? Are you saying the three of us can't stand up to Orochimaru?"

Xiaochun said emotionally. She was unwilling to give up the power she held. Power was like a poison, addictive to her. She was unwilling to relinquish it.

"Yes, Hiruzen. Are you really willing to accept this?"

Mitokado Yan had the same idea.

"What can we do if we're unwilling? If we retreat now, we can still save our lives, but if we wait too long, our entire family might be doomed."

"I don't care what you think, I'm resigning."

After saying that, Yuan Feiri ignored the two of them and left.

Seeing Hiruzen leave, Koharu and Homura parted on bad terms. As they were leaving, a figure emerged from the floor of the room. It was Black Zetsu.

Carrot ignored him and continued drinking; Orochimaru's victory celebration was in full swing.

Chapter 103 The Fourth Hokage

Today is the day Orochimaru takes over.

All the villagers of Konoha gathered at the Hokage Building, ready to welcome this sacred and great moment. Everyone, whether busy or not, came together today.

The clan leaders arrived early. The elders of Konoha were also dressed in their finest attire. Tsunade, Jiraiya, and Minato were all present.

On the Hokage Building, Hiruzen Sarutobi stood in front of Orochimaru, the two facing each other.

"Orochimaru, from today onwards, the heavy responsibility of Hokage is handed over to you. I hope you can carry on the Will of Fire and make it flourish, and not let down the villagers' expectations of you."

After saying this, Hiruzen Souji solemnly placed the Hokage hat on Orochimaru's head, which meant that Hiruzen Souji's political career had officially ended, and Orochimaru would begin to rule Konoha.

The Uchiha clan's supported Minato Namikaze had failed to be elected, and now that Orochimaru had taken over, would it trigger a resurgence within the Uchiha clan? All these questions were giving Fugaku a major headache. He didn't know if the Uchiha clan could withstand Orochimaru's counterattack. "Why isn't it Minato?!"

However, Orochimaru ultimately prevailed by taking a shortcut and winning the final victory. Without the merit of supporting the young leader, would the Ino-Shika-Cho trio withdraw from the center of power? This was Shikaku's biggest concern.

"Yeah, Minato is so good, how could he lose?"

Choza Akimichi said that he and Minato were close friends, even sworn brothers. To outsiders, Minato was the ruthless Yellow Flash, while to the villagers, he was a warm little sun. Yet, they never expected him to still be defeated by Orochimaru.
