“That’s right, Carrot. The Will of Fire is our guiding principle, and we must always keep it in mind.”

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

The two looked at each other, both seemingly agreeing. They were thinking the same thing at the same time.

"Hiss. This person's skill is no less than mine."

Chapter 46 Kakashi Returns

As Carrot staggered home that night, the group of old drunkards, who had been drinking with him all night, kept toasting him.

It was only when the night was deep and quiet that Carrot managed to escape in a disheveled state.

When he returned home, Hatake Sakumo was still in the same place where he had waited for Carrot's return from his first mission.

"Father."

Carrot collapsed to the ground, crying out. He was utterly powerless and unable to control himself.

Sakumo Hatake shook his head. He had originally planned to have a father-son talk with Carrot, but seeing Carrot's expression, he knew the plan was doomed.

"Humph."

Sakumo Hatake snorted and went back to his room, leaving Carrot asleep in the hall, without even adding a blanket.

"Hmph."

Carrot woke up with a sneeze, clutching his forehead, his throat dry—a hangover.

"woke up."

Sakumo Hatake's voice rang out as he sat upright on the tatami mat, sipping tea. He poured a cup for Carrot. Carrot hurriedly ran over, picked up the cup, and drank it down in one gulp.

“It feels so good.”

Carrot couldn't help but shout.

Seeing Carrot guzzling his tea like a glutton, ruining his good tea, Hatake Sakumo's lips twitched. There was nothing he could do; he wouldn't change even after being told, and would even use his own theories to argue with him. What a waste of breath.

"Carrot, don't you think our house is too empty?"

"Ok?"

Carrot was puzzled. "Hasn't our family always been like this?"

Seeing that his son did not understand what he was saying, Hatake Sakumo had no choice but to speak frankly.

"Should I introduce you to someone, Carrot?"

"Ok?"

Carrot stared at Hatake Sakumo, spitting out the tea he was drinking.

"Cough cough."

Carrot patted his chest. He was quite shocked by Hatake Sakumo. He was only thirteen years old at most, still a minor.

"Father, are you sick? I'm still so young, and you want me to get married."

“How can you be young? When I was your age, your grandfather had already told me to get married.”

You can't blame Hatake Sakumo for this; Carrot is just too popular. Last night, a bunch of old friends and comrades invited him to dinner, and they kept talking about how outstanding their daughters were, wanting to arrange a marriage between their children and Hatake Sakumo's. I originally wanted to talk to Carrot about it last night, but the guy got drunk.

"Father, I'm not in a hurry. Why don't you take a look at Kakashi? He's been looking at hentai all day long."

“I’m worried his health won’t be able to handle it. It might be better for him to get married sooner.”

"Better to die than for me, Kakashi-nii, this is for your own good."

Sakumo Hatake was clearly intrigued by Carrot's suggestion; after all, his sons were both geniuses, so they probably wouldn't have anything to say.

"Carrot" X2

Hearing someone shouting outside, Carrot immediately got up and fled the area, talking as he walked.

"Father, please think it over carefully."

After saying that, he disappeared without a trace.

Hyuga Sanada was about to shout again when Carrot covered his mouth with his hand and dragged him away. Hatake Sakumo was too terrifying now; he might have to go out and lay low for a while.

Sanada struggled desperately in Carrot's arms, his eyes rolling back in his head. If Sanada's struggles hadn't become increasingly gentle, Carrot wouldn't have realized what was happening and quickly released his grip.

Sanada bent over, coughing violently. Finally, he caught his breath.

"Damn it, Carrot, are you trying to suffocate me?"

Sanada angrily launched into a tirade against Kakashi. Knowing he was in the wrong, Carrot quickly tried to appease him.

"By the way, what brings you here?"

"Carrot asked."

"Hmph, I almost forgot about something important. It's been a long time. Now that you're back, Mr. Matsushita suggests we all get together."

"Who's treating?"

This is the issue that Karot is most concerned about. He has been a commander for over a year without any income, and he is just waiting for the Mist Ninja to pay the ransom. Right now, he is penniless.

Sanada dared not make any grand promises. Carrot's terrifying strength lay in two aspects: his physical strength and his ability to make a living.

"Matsushita-sensei is treating us."

After exchanging a glance, the two spoke in unison. Then, arm in arm, they headed to the restaurant.

From afar, one could see Matsushita Hokuto standing at the hotel entrance. Carrot and Sanada were the first to bow and speak.

"Teacher, you've gone to so much trouble."

"Ah."

The most sudden injuries are the most painful.

After saying that, Carrot and Sanada flanked Matsushita Hokuto on either side and walked into the restaurant.

"Hi, Kazuko, long time no see, you've become even more beautiful."

"Carrot greeted her. Kazuko had always taken care of Carrot's daily life in the team."

"Coming."

Her sweet smile is very comforting.

The four sat around a table, sharing their experiences over the past year. Kazuko was now working at a hospital, while Sanada had been promoted to Special Jonin a year ago and was currently leading a small squad. War always tempers and helps people grow. And that brat was getting married soon, to a member of the Hyuga branch family. Matsushita-sensei had successfully joined the Anbu, which he had always longed for.

"Carrot, what about you? What are your plans?"

Matsushita Hokuto asked, and Kazuko and Sanada were equally interested, staring intently at Carrot.

"I don't know. The Hokage didn't make any arrangements for me. I also want to rest for a while and train properly."

Carrot said, swallowing as he spoke.

"You still need to cultivate. You're already so powerful."

Sanada asked, "I know very well what Carrot's strength is like, and how he performed on the battlefield of the Cloud Ninja."

"Learning has no end. If you relax, your skills will naturally decline. Only by persevering can you improve."

“That’s right, Carrot, you’re right. Sanada, you’ve been a bit lax lately.”

While praising Carrot, Matsushita Hokuto urged Sanada on. Both were his students, and he wanted them to achieve great things.

"Yes, teacher, I understand."

Sanada listened attentively to what Matsushita Hokuto and Karot said. He cherished the bond between teacher and student, and the brotherhood between them, because in the ninja world, no one knew whether tomorrow or death would come first. The heavy topic of the team drifted away with the wind, and the four of them drank and chatted happily. Karot kept his head down, cooking, and Kazuko skillfully served him dishes.

The waiters kept bringing out dishes, otherwise they couldn't keep up with Carrot's eating speed. His three companions were used to it, but the other guests were astonished, seeing someone eat so much for the first time.

After everyone had eaten and drunk their fill, they went home, and the world was achieved with only Matsushita Hokuto injured.

Back home, Karot met Kakashi, whose eyes were bandaged, clearly indicating an eye injury. It was unexpected that Kakashi would still choose this path.

"What happened, Kakashi? Are you alright?"

Sakumo Hatake, who loved his son, spoke first.

"Obito is dead. He died saving me."

Tears welled in Kakashi's eyes; his pent-up emotions erupted at that moment. Sakumo Hatake fell silent upon hearing this, for he too had experienced the sacrifice of a close friend. This was something he could only overcome on his own. Only Carrot, who knew the full story, knew that Obito was not dead. Because Carrot was stationed at the border of the Hidden Mist Village, Rin hadn't become the Three-Tails' Jinchuriki. She was still alive, which could be considered a disruption of the timeline, but the cunning Madara Uchiha wouldn't let Rin go. For his beloved younger brother, Carrot had no choice but to go see Madara Uchiha.

Chapter 47 Teleportation

"Obito is not dead."

Karot's words were startling, which startled Kakashi, who was still crying.

"That's impossible. Obito was clearly buried under the boulder, there's no way he could still be alive."

Kakashi recalled the scene of his best friend's death, and tears streamed down his face again.

Hatake Sakumo knew his son wouldn't speak without reason.
