"I'm sorry to bother you, Hokage-sama, but I've been spending too much time on ninja missions lately."

The third generation doesn't often work in the mission hall; he only comes here intentionally.

After chatting with Matsushita for a few minutes, he turned his attention to Carrot.

"You must be Sakumo's son, Hatake Karot."

Chapter 13 The first task

"Yuan Fei Ri Zhan," he asked, though it was a question, his tone was certain.

"Yes, Hokage-sama."

This was the first time Karot and Hiruzen Sarutobi had met face-to-face. Hiruzen had seen Karot at birth, as he was born with a tail like a monkey. However, he had been more focused on Kakashi, who was a renowned genius from a young age, while Karot was practically invisible, unable to even gather chakra. His attention had waned, and he hadn't expected this seemingly insignificant person to give him such a huge surprise. This made him pay even closer attention to Karot, leading to this meeting.

Like father, like son.

The Third Hokage said with a look of praise.

"I hope you will become a ninja like your father and protect Konoha in the future."

"Yes, Hokage-sama, I won't let you down."

"Well, since this is Carrot's first mission, let's assign something simple, a C-rank mission: clearing out mountain bandits."

It had to be during this time of war that the simplest task was to kill, unlike Naruto's era when the tasks involved cleaning sewers and catching cats. Carrot remained completely unmoved, perhaps because he had adapted to the way of life in this world.

"Yes, Lord Hokage, I guarantee I will complete the mission."

After receiving the assurance, Matsushita took over the mission details: an unknown band of mountain bandits had appeared outside Konoha Village, robbing and killing passing merchant groups, destroying small villages, and affecting Konoha's income, which needed to be dealt with.

During times of war, ordinary people who are displaced gather together. Without income, they can only engage in businesses that require no capital.

"Everyone, go home and pack your things first. We'll meet at the village entrance at 2 PM."

"Yes, Mr. Matsushita."

“Especially you, Carrot, don’t be late again.”

"Don't worry, Mr. Matsushita, that's an exception. I'm very reliable too."

"hope so."

Carrot was able to distinguish between what was important and what was urgent.

After saying that, everyone went home to pack their luggage.

"Miwako, wait a moment."

Hearing Carrot's call, Miwako stopped and asked.

"Is something the matter, Carrot?"

I need your help with something small.

"Oh."

Miwako looked at the somewhat flustered Carrot and wanted to laugh out loud, but she held it in. Was this still the same Carrot who always caused trouble?

Carrot was a little embarrassed, asking for help on their first meeting.

"I have a few time-space scrolls here. Can you help me seal some things?"

Miwako thought it was something important, but it was just a small favor, so she readily agreed to Carrot's request.

Then, Miwako, looking utterly incredulous, began a rampage through the food street with Carrot. Food poured in like a flowing river, and Miwako didn't even know how she left, being bid farewell by each restaurant owner. Miwako felt as if her worldview had been completely reshaped.

"Have you finished accepting your missions?"

When Carrot got home, he found Sakumo Hatake already sitting in the living room waiting for him.

"Yes, Father, a C-level mission. To wipe out the mountain bandits."

"Mountain bandits? That's easy for you. I'll show you the cruelty of the ninja world."

"After you finish eating, pack your things and head out. I'll be here waiting for you to come back."

After a simple meal, Carrot set off.

Hatake Sakumo watched his eldest son leave, feeling a pang of sadness.

At such a young age, they have to face life and death, and this is something they cannot stop. This is an indispensable experience for those who want to become strong.

"Father, are you worried about my brother?"

At that moment, Kakashi came over and asked.

"Don't worry, your brother can handle it."

"Well, I hope so!"

Before Carrot returned, I was still quite worried, since a C-rank mission might turn into an A-rank or S-rank mission, who knows?

At 2 p.m., Carrot arrived at the meeting point on time, which relieved Matsushita.

"Set off."

Following Matsushita's order, the three-man squad stepped out of the gate and rushed into the forest.

During their journey, Carrot watched with great interest how the three of them traveled, leaning forward with their hands outstretched, managing to maintain this pace without Newton interfering.

The other three were also watching Carrot. He had changed his attire, for example, by changing the color of his martial arts uniform to green. Before he became invincible, he still had to follow his heart. Carrot was still very cautious.

Carrot's method of traveling, in particular, was quite remarkable; it was the way we run in the normal world. He actually managed to keep up with the group's pace.

Throughout the journey, Matsushita kept an eye on Carrot. He noticed that Carrot could keep up with his speed, even though Matsushita was constantly accelerating.

"As expected of Mr. Hatake's son!"

Matsushita thought to himself.

Because I was on a mission outside when Carrot took his graduation exam, I didn't witness it firsthand. I only knew about Carrot's strength through hearsay and from Sakumo Hatake. That's why this test was conducted. Carrot's strength did not disappoint me.

Without any rest, after traveling for half a day, they finally arrived at the bandits' lair.

"Rest here, eat something to recover your strength, and we'll move out tonight."

Matsushita gave the order.

Everyone rested where they were. Carrot came to Miwako's side and handed her the scroll.

"Thank you for your help, Miwako."

Miwako then tapped the scroll, placed her hands in a mudra on the scroll, and shouted.

"untie."

"Boom."

A pile of food appeared out of thin air on the scroll—yes, you read that right, a pile of food for fifty people.

This situation terrified Matsushita and Sanada. Seeing the expressions on their two companions' faces, Miwako felt a sense of satisfaction, because it was just like her first time.

"Carrot, what's Carrot doing?"

"Oh, this is my dinner, Mr. Matsushita."

"Are these all?"

"Isn't this how it should be?"

Looking at Carrot's lavish feast, and then at the meager rations in his own hand, the food suddenly lost its appeal. There's no harm in comparison!

Carrot picked up one portion and gave it to Miwako, and another to Matsushita. He then got up, took another portion, and handed it to Hinata.

Hinata didn't expect Carrot to give her a copy, especially since she had criticized Carrot when he first joined.

Hinata took it and said something.

"Thank you."

After all, no one can resist the temptation of delicious food; if someone is, it means they haven't been hungry yet.

Then we saw Carrot's eating performance.

Plate after plate of food was fed to Carrot without his stomach changing at all. He deftly moved the food in his bowl with his chopsticks, bringing it to his mouth in one fluid motion. If there was one thing Carrot was most satisfied with about coming to this world, it was this time-space scroll. It could retrieve anything he had sent in, and it would be exactly the same as before. Absolutely fantastic.

Matsushita, Hinata, and Miwako had never seen anyone eat so much before. In no time, Carrot finished all the food on the ground, patted his stomach, and said...

"I'm seven-tenths full, that's enough. I'll have a late-night snack later."

Upon hearing Carrot's words, the three companions simultaneously thought of the same word.

"big eater."
