"No, no, why are you suddenly bringing this up?" Fujisawa Sousuke covered his ears, which were constantly burning up.

Aya Kamimura then handed him a bloody candy that was actually strawberry flavored: "I will always like you, until I meet someone even more handsome."

"Hey, don't say things like that!"

Chapter Seventy-Seven: "Empty-Doubt"

After hesitating for a long time, Fujisawa Sosuke decided to stuff the fat-boosting stuff into his pocket and go back to torment Yota—he remembered that the captain liked sweet things, and although the candy looked terrible, its sweetness was undeniable.

Wherever Aya Kamimura looked, he would warily follow suit, prioritizing the observation of any handsome men swaggering by. Not long after, the pale-faced vampire reappeared, this time with a stern expression, looking even more handsome than when he had deliberately feigned ferocity.

He just looked lost, wandering the streets like a ghost.

Along with the vampire floated the flowery bedsheet imps. One of them knocked his pointed hat to the ground without even glancing at it, and just followed his wandering companions slowly. They formed a long line, like ducklings following their mother duck.

The onlookers thought they were "acting" well, but Fujisawa Sousuke felt that something was off. The vampires and the goblins parted ways at an intersection. The goblins, like ducks, continued to walk towards the suburbs, while the vampires turned into a residential area.

"You stay here, I'll go check it out." Fujisawa Sousuke pushed the wheelchair to a busy shop where he could feel a little more at ease. He then reminded Kamimura Aya not to eat too much sugar before heading towards the intersection where the two groups of "ghosts" separated.

The children walked a short distance in their line, colorful lights dangling above their heads; they appeared unharmed. The vampire crept into a dimmer alley, pulling out a key and heading towards the mansion gate, presumably intending to go home.

The iron gate creaked open, and the vampire went inside. A fence surrounded the house, revealing the lush flowers, grasses, and shrubs growing inside. Fujisawa Sousuke should have been able to see him through the gate, but the vampire never reappeared after going inside. It was as if he had passed through some other-dimensional portal as he crossed the iron gate of his own yard.

Two dark figures rustled out from the low bushes in the vampire's courtyard. Ignoring the gate, one pushed the other against the outer wall.

"Where did this thief come from!" Fujisawa Sousuke shouted and rushed forward. He guessed that the vampire, as the homeowner, had been knocked unconscious and was lying in the yard. No wonder he didn't see anyone when he entered the house!

The thief must have been armed. Sosuke was empty-handed, but he wasn't afraid at all. He dialed the police as he ran.

Those two thieves were quite dedicated; they both wore crow-head hoods to mislead others, and they didn't even take them off when they climbed the wall to escape. They were carrying a box on their backs, and Sosuke figured that the box contained the stolen goods!

"I've already called the police! Don't even think about escaping!" Fujisawa Sousuke rushed into the yard like a whirlwind, grabbed the ankle of the second thief who had climbed over the wall, and dragged him down with all his might, cursing, "The owner is back and you still dare to steal things, this is burglary! Wait till I take off your hood and see which monster you are!"

The crow people also wondered where these demons and monsters came from. The "witch" was being chased by the Victory Team, and the sleepwalkers, lured by the candy she distributed, wandered the streets. The "witch" liked children, so the little devils lined up with a clear destination; the "witch" disliked adults, so the vampire could have escaped and sleepwalked home safely.

But the two crow-men who were lying in wait thought they had found an opportunity. The "witch" went to seduce the children she liked, and the crow-men took advantage of the chaos to pick up the adults who had been drugged. It was a win-win situation!

Just when they were about to succeed, an Earthling suddenly appeared, grabbed the slow-climbing Crowman, and without saying a word, pulled him down the wall like a radish.

Call the police? This guy called the police? What if the security guards patrolling the streets come looking for us?

Another crowman who had scaled the wall stared at the courtyard wall, which he couldn't climb alone, and hopped around in a big circle before blocking the way back in through the gate. His companion had handed him the shrinking gun and the "cargo" box as he climbed the wall. When he reached the base of the wall with the two guns on his back, his companion was being beheaded by an Earthling riding on his back.

"The hood is pretty tight!" The Earthling hooked his arm around the crow's neck with one hand and grabbed the crow's feathers with the other. The crow struggled incessantly, and several feathers were forcibly plucked out, causing his companion to scream in agony. When he couldn't pull it off, he reached for the crow's large, bright yellow eyes—its prominent brow bone seemed like a good place to exert force.

Little did he know those were real eyes! Poking them in would blind him!

The crowman who came to rescue his companion quickly aimed his gun and pulled the trigger. At this distance, even his grandmother, who grew vegetables on her home planet, could use the shrinking ray to cover the other person's head.

He did succeed, but just as the light was about to hit him, a light barrier suddenly appeared out of nowhere. The Earthling was unharmed, but his companion was so choked that he stuck out his tongue and almost fainted.

The moment the light screen appeared was like lightning illuminating the night sky. Fujisawa Sousuke heard a faint "click" sound, and his chest pocket suddenly felt warm, as if a branding iron had been inserted.

He remembered that it was his new air force badge, and the old one had been given to Aya Kamimura as a memento, for which Aya Kamimura reciprocated with a gift—a test tube containing a metal crystal.

The crow-man, having failed in his first attack, was not about to give up. He pulled the trigger repeatedly, and "lightning" flashed, illuminating the courtyard wall and flowerbeds. The vampire, in preparation for the festival, had meticulously arranged carved pumpkins, their triangular eye sockets gleaming in the light.

Fujisawa Sosuke was stunned by this strange scene. He had seen this light screen before; it was the manifestation of the "Magnet God." But where was the magnet on him? The Teru Teru Bozu was still being cared for at the dry cleaners!

The gun in the crow-man's hand was clearly no ordinary weapon. The light, blocked by the light barrier, enveloped the low bushes in front of him, leaving Fujisawa Aoi stunned.

He lowered his head, and the flower bushes grew smaller and smaller in his eyes until they were just a clump the size of a fingernail!

"Universe... Cosmic Man!" Shocked, he loosened his grip slightly.

The crow-man, whose eyes had rolled back from being strangled, finally broke free and kicked him over, revealing his fluffy, feather-covered legs beneath his trousers.

"Cough cough cough... I thought my neck was going to break." The crow was still shaken and instructed his companions to quickly pack up and take away this Earthling who had delivered himself to their doorstep.

Fujisawa Sousuke rolled away and scurried behind a low tree. Before the other man could turn his gun around, he lunged outwards. The tree was now a patchwork of weeds in the sunlight. Fujisawa Sousuke didn't know if "Magnet God" was still there; he only knew that his breast pocket felt like it was burning hot.

In the blink of an eye, the crow-man he had beaten up found his gun.

Although Fujisawa Sousuke had learned a few tricks from Ralf, he was no match for a god who could outmaneuver two guns with mere movement. He knew he was doomed—like the shrunken shrubs in the flowerbed, a tiny ant in the land of giants.

He saw the box the crow-man was carrying. Could it be that the box contained a shrunken person? Only then did Sosuke realize that he hadn't seen the vampire he thought had been knocked unconscious at his doorstep.

Two shrinking ray guns emitted blinding light. Cangjie knew he couldn't escape. He only regretted that he should have called the regular police instead of calling headquarters. Otherwise, the police might have been implicated.

The light screen was stretched out in front of me again, making my pockets feel like they were about to be burned through.

"Hot, hot, hot..." Sosuke reached for his badge with one hand and touched his phone with the other, intending to call the police to bring in professionals, such as the Victory Team that had just passed by.

Suddenly, I heard two muffled thuds like bones breaking, followed by the sound of a heavy object falling to the ground.

When Sosuke looked up again, the two dark gun barrels were gone, and the crow's head was lying flat on the ground, probably because it had been hammered down with great force... The one on the left had stuck his beak into the ground.

The creature that appeared as if a divine warrior had descended from the heavens and defeated the crow-men was clearly no pushover either; Fujisawa Sousuke spotted what appeared to be a tail.

They are definitely aliens!

The guy first took the beam gun, then went to grab the box the crow man was carrying; his target was clear, and his methods were practiced. Fujisawa Sosuke stood there dumbfounded, three words flashing through his mind:

"A double-cross?!"

Chapter Seventy-Eight Clues

Aiba Yu was in a bad mood.

He went to the logistics department and ordered a bag of twenty-four air force badges. While slowly etching the backs, he watched online videos about "giants and monsters" for Halloween.

That's right, the "witch" that Daigo was chasing was a girl who used candy to lure children. She originally planned to lure Daigo to her lair, restrain him, and kill him. However, just as she stuffed him into the jar, a silver light suddenly burst out from Daigo's body—he smashed the jar with just one punch, leaving the "witch" stunned on the spot.

Daigo said that Solka was protecting him, and Aiba asked, "Is he still there?"

“It’s just residual power,” Daigo said, noticing Aiba Yu’s obvious dejection. “When he was talking to the statue, he said he was going to disappear, but the energy remained… no, it’s still intact. Maybe it will recover someday.”

“Tiga is a powerful guy. He transformed the power of the Dark Giant into light, a reversal of polarities that almost no one can do,” Aiba Yu said. “Perhaps it was his power that protected Solka. Solka’s energy… study it carefully and use it well. I’m not familiar with Tiga’s abilities, but I know Solka’s very well.”

Daigo jumped: "A...a new book, or...a manual?"

"It's hard to explain in writing. Just come find me when you've finished your work." Daigo breathed a sigh of relief as Aiba Yu didn't add to his heavy paperwork.

The online debate surrounding the Halloween monsters is raging.

There are essentially two opposing viewpoints: some are happy that the giants have appeared to protect the kidnapped children, calling them guardian deities; others are worried about the giants who are difficult to control, believing they are a hidden danger and that we should not be fooled by their seemingly friendly appearance and lose our vigilance.

Then there was the resurgence of criticism: people argued that the "Regulations" were completely ineffective in controlling aliens. They claimed that, not to mention how many dangerous situations they had controlled, the "witches" who lured children away on Halloween and the crow people who took advantage of the chaos to grab people showed that the "Regulations" were no different from waste paper in the eyes of monsters and aliens.

That's a bit too demanding. The aliens have been hiding on Earth for many years. You can't expect a set of rules that have been in operation for less than a year to instantly turn the unruly aliens into obedient children. The TPC still needs a period of implementation to establish the effectiveness of the rules.

But this did not prevent Aiba Yu from getting upset. The rules, which had been in preparation for nearly 7 years, were met with a flood of criticism once they were implemented. No one would be so heartless as to be happy about it – even the General Staff, which had undertaken the vast majority of the formulation work, was no exception. Staff Officer Nanbara bluntly said, "This is a bigger blow than wasabi cake."

As a result, the pressure fell on the executive departments, with the Victory Team, as the main force in dealing with abnormal events, bearing the brunt, followed by the police department, whose job is to maintain public order.

The air force was relatively relaxed compared to the rest of the group. The ground guard said, "How much can a security guard who drives a bus in the sky do?" Fujisawa Sousuke, who had just finished his physical examination, decided to gather his best buddies to raid their training facility, but was rejected by Ralph who said, "A hero from the special forces doesn't beat up kids."

"Haha, my men are arguing with you again?" Sato, who was holed up in the interrogation room trying to pry open Crow Man's mouth, said...

Wei Yi: "I knew you would come to me within three days, you crow people, or more accurately, you Lebik aliens. The initial interrogation has been completed."

Besides Aiba Yu, the GUTS team captain Iruma Megumi and team member Daigo also visited the interrogation room. Aiba Yu carried a bag of French fries, while the GUTS team brought the Confidential Room's permission document to retrieve the interrogation materials.

"It would be best if there was an approval document." Sato turned a blind eye to Aiba Yu not applying for an approval document, believing that the GUTS team wouldn't be so bored as to report such a small matter. He asked the clerk to give the freshly compiled first draft to a few visitors.

“Their mouths aren’t as tight as those of the Reijulan and Muzhen aliens. Eleven Lebik aliens were brought to the base on Halloween night, and our special life form isolation rooms are almost full.” The clerk’s first draft was actually a photocopy of the transcript, and the handwriting was still fairly clear. Sato first opened the paper bag of French fries and said with satisfaction, “I like plain fries, but of course I don’t mind if you pack some ketchup.”

The aroma of fried food wafted to everyone's noses, but apart from Sato and the clerk who nervously accepted the gift, no one paid any attention to its temptation.

“These people…” Daigo finished reading the first page of the transcript: “Just civilians from Planet Lebik?!”

Sato nodded: "They issued a shrinking ray gun and then went around capturing slaves in the universe. There were only two truly trained soldiers, the red-eyed ones. One of them was sitting on a stone in the interrogation room, and the other didn't appear. Maybe he stayed on the spaceship, or maybe he was hiding in another hideout."

“No wonder Sosuke could handle them with his bare hands,” Aiba Yu muttered to himself. “What about that monster that grabs the children?”

“The guy disguised as a ‘witch’ was codenamed Kiranbo,” Sato said. “The Lebik aliens confessed that they didn’t actually know Kiranbo. Halloween was just a coincidence that allowed them to ‘cooperate’. To be precise, they were just taking advantage of the chaos.”

Upon hearing this, Megumi skipped over the bits and pieces about her home planet that the Lebik aliens were talking about, and went straight to the question of "whether to cooperate with the monsters".

Upon hearing that the TPC had framed them, the civilians of Lebike were eager to distance themselves and immediately began to shout and yell, the clerk's handwriting almost flying.

“The citizens of the newly developed area witnessed the shadow of a monster, and we discovered the hideout of the Lebik aliens in an abandoned factory there,” Megumi Kiyama astutely spotted the key point: “The Lebik aliens claim they did not cooperate with the monster, and the shape of that shadow is different from Kiranbo, so the GUTS team…”

"Should we go to the new development zone again?" Daigo asked his captain.

“That’s right,” Megumi said to Sato, “The GUTS team has a new mission. Please make sure to pass on any other information you get from the interrogation room as soon as possible.”

“Of course,” Sato pushed the fries forward. “Have you eaten? High calories make people happy, and I can see that none of you are in a good mood.”

……

After Megumi and Daigo left, Aiba Yu was kept behind by Sato's words.

"Would you like to hear my speculation?" Sato slowly wiped his hands and picked up his thermos. "Information needs to be accurate, but speculation doesn't have to be."

“Your predictions are always accurate,” Aiba Yuu pulled up a chair and sat down. “What did you discover?”

Sato gave the clerk a wink, and the clerk got up and left. Sato handed him the French fries, saying, "Here, take them. I heard your stomach growling."

The clerk thanked Xiang Yeyou and carefully closed the door.

“Really, why is he thanking you for what I gave him?” Sato snorted. The interrogation room fell silent, and his voice echoed in the empty room: “I’ve discovered some clues about the aliens’ purpose in capturing Earthlings.”

Chapter Seventy-Nine: "Ancient Blood"

Etching protective markings on badges is no easy task. It must be prevented from being too sensitive, so that even a fall would have an effect, or from being so insensitive that an alien could reach out with its claws without it noticing.

Aiba Yu was still carving the first badge, and he didn't know when the whole bag would be finished. He even had a thought of ordering Fujisawa Sousuke, that reckless guy who dared to fight aliens with his bare hands, to carry a palm-sized rock with him and not to throw it away when he took a shower.
