Nanase Makoto laughed: "Didn't you notice that I'm the only one here? The stationmaster is dead, but there's still the deputy stationmaster. The deputy stationmaster died in the line of duty, and there are the heads of fourteen departments. So-called 'enlightenment' isn't just something you guys have. We won't stand by and watch our compatriots die in trouble."

The Reijuran alien glanced at the screen, where Ligadron was holding Tiga but was being knocked off balance by a missile. The flames from the explosion carved deep shadows on his face.

Ligadron kept attacking, but Nanase Makoto's communications also kept going.

"Help me, help me... I regret it, I'm sorry, I don't want to be a monster." He knew that tone belonged to his good-for-nothing wife.

"Dad, I brought you a present. Come find me, okay?" This was his daughter, who couldn't understand adults and was only interested in having fun, which resulted in her ending up in the monster's mouth.

He was extremely disappointed and commented, "They really don't seem like aliens from Reicuran."

……

Shinjo's consciousness was already somewhat blurred. His legs were pressed tightly against the metal sheet, and he was now like a truck driver whose front end had been hit, his whole body embedded in the driver's seat. He only felt slightly better after Tiga's brilliance appeared.

But now Tiga was firmly held in a grip by the well-energy-rich Rigadrone with its hook-shaped arms, which had just fired a blue beam that knocked the giant down from the sky. It must have been something extremely destructive—Shinjo's ears, which were ringing incessantly, could clearly hear the explosion. The accompanying earthquake brought him back to his senses, and he tried to look up, but he couldn't move at all.

A warm, sticky liquid clung to his forehead, and he vaguely remembered: Was Daigo alright? When the medical staff treated his head wound, did they shave it? Would Mayumi shave my head and ruin her brother's chances of finding a girlfriend?

What a depressing future! Shin-joo felt as if the sky before him had darkened.

No, it really is getting darker.

Something scorching hot approached, right beside him, like a giant oven opening its mouth to its prey. The damaged metal of the Flying Swallow No. 1 was scorched by it. Xincheng wanted to turn his head to look, but his helmet, which protected him, became an obstacle. It was fastened so tightly that it was stuck to his scalp, and the slightest movement would tear it off along with the congealed blood.

Then came a pale fog, wisps spreading from the edge of his vision toward his pupils, making Xincheng really suspect that someone had set up a barbecue grill next to him.

A sound came from the source of the fog.

"He's still awake, that's quite a good physique."

It sounds familiar... Have I heard it somewhere before...? Shinjo felt his brain was starting to overload, probably because it was too hot around him.

Then something that looked like an arm reached out and stopped on his head.

The reason it "looks like an arm" is because Shinjo only recognized its outline, which resembled a human arm. The arm was actually made of metal, with layers of scales as black as the night, yet with fluorescent glows wrapped around it, reflecting a watery luster in the sunlight.

After that, Shinjo knew nothing more. The only three words that remained in his mind were: "A monster!"

The "monster" stitched up his bleeding internal organs.

"Introduction to Anatomy" isn't for monsters, it's for humans. Learning it helps you identify which bones and muscles are misaligned, preventing the medical staff from cursing you out when you're stitching them up.

After doing all this, Aiba Yu stood up, her clothes still dripping wet with seawater.

The "fog" seen in the new city comes from it. It's normal for the water vapor to rise after swimming from the sea to avoid satellite detection, so it's quite a good camouflage.

While Aiba Yu could accept it, he really couldn't like the scales that appeared all over his body once his energy was activated.

"I hope the progress can be faster." He sighed, looking up at Ligadron.

It was precisely because of its poor fighting skills that it underwent intensive training day after day, making it increasingly agile.

Ultraman Tiga knocks it down.

Aiba Yu's gaze went through the crystal above its head, where there was a golden sea.

Two people, one big and one small, stood embracing in the sea.

"Reicuran aliens".

Chapter 45 Wings of Light

Those two Reicuran aliens are dead.

Aiba Yuu will not be fooled by the two illusions.

Whether they intended it or not, their emotions more or less affected Ligadron's performance; otherwise, that destructive beam shouldn't have happened more than once.

"What is your purpose in coming here?" Given the nature of the Reicuran aliens, they were probably after some resources on Earth, but the behavior of these two Reicuran aliens was too strange, and Aiba Yu was suspicious.

Hearing this, the larger shadow shuddered and absentmindedly released her daughter.

She was certainly shocked, regardless of how the voice came to mind—the language of which she had only heard in ancient recordings from many years ago.

It is indeed the language of the Rechulan aliens, but after many years of evolution, they rarely use it anymore, much like how classical Chinese is to modern Chinese.

Why did the language of the ancient Rechuran aliens appear on Earth?

“Don’t worry about who I am,” the voice continued. “Reicuran aliens, you don’t live in the Nemesis Nebula. Did you come to Earth forget how your spaceship was torn to pieces by the garrison?”

"It's precisely because we haven't forgotten that we had to come here!" The Raichuran alien's bewilderment faded, revealing a look of hatred: "Ah... as expected, there are remnants of that race on Earth! Not just almost useless genetic material, this is truly... wonderful..."

She suddenly transformed from a fearful mother into someone who, when it came to the interests of the Reijulan aliens, showed no mercy, even to the weakest individual, and Ligadron's hesitant actions gradually became firm.

She loved her daughter, but she also loved Reichurst. In Reichurst's dictionary, species from other planets were not worth a second glance; you couldn't expect someone who had been educated in this way from a young age to empathize with creatures from other planets.

Therefore, both phantoms of the Reicuran aliens showed hostility.

“Don’t be afraid, we’ve found the best gift for your dad,” she gently stroked her daughter’s head. “Once we take him back, we’ll beg them to turn us back… You don’t want to be a monster, do you?”

The little Raichuran alien hugged the star sphere tightly and nodded hesitantly.

"Okay, don't be so playful next time. Do you know how scared I was when I found out you were on this spaceship too? I almost wanted to desert, cancel the plan, and let Raichulan's ideals go far away." The mother took a step forward and pushed her daughter behind her.

Ligadron shoved Tiga aside, his head, which was almost three stories high, lowered and turned towards a certain spot in the forest.

There was the newly released Flying Swallow No. 1, injured and unconscious members of the GUTS team, and a "remnant" who could speak ancient Raichurst.

There was one, a "monster".

Tiga's gaze could easily penetrate the mist rising from the seawater, but it could not penetrate the scales covering the "monster's" body. His face was hidden in the shadows of his horns and hair, and only occasionally could one see his eyes, which looked like molten gold.

A monster? Daigo had the same guess as Shinjo.

No one would believe that a human could have bony horns and finely scaled nails, let alone his hands hanging at his sides—perhaps claws would be a more apt description—with sharp bone spurs at his fingertips, joints, and extending along his spine to the tip of his tail. If it weren't for his human-sized body, Daigo would have thought he was about to face another monster.

Ligadron walked towards him, and Tiga was finally able to catch his breath.

In taking away the "gift," the will of the two Rechulan aliens and the curiosity of Ligadron reached a consensus, so the energy it absorbed was not consumed or wasted in the slightest.

It regained its former glory and gradually moved towards the "ants" that were barely taller than its feet.

Tiga instinctively wanted to rush up and stop it. For some reason, although he didn't know where the monster came from or whether it was a manifestation of a local monster legend, he always felt that the other party was one of his own—Shinjo was lying there peacefully, wasn't he!

We must stop Ligadron. That monster has spikes on its body, but it's too small. It's just a slightly harder nail. Ligadron wouldn't mind stepping on a nail barefoot. Its defense can withstand a Basil cannon shot with its face. Delta Force is powered by the entire system, and it can only prepare one of its trump cards every five minutes.

"You don't need to take me up there, I'm going to find them anyway." The monster spoke in a language that Daigo couldn't understand, but the Reichuran aliens could, it was ancient Reichuran language. He saw the towering Ligadron advancing towards him, yet he felt no fear whatsoever.

His gaze shifted to Tiga, and he switched back to Japanese, saying to him, "I'm going to find the guy who hijacked the space station. You're in charge here."

Huh? Tiga stretched out his hand and watched as the "ant" in front of Rigadron turned into a mountain like an inflating balloon.

"This time it really is a monster," he thought blankly.

The mountain that appeared out of nowhere turned around, its slender tail sweeping across with a sonic boom. He had probably used this move countless times, so he seemed very familiar with it. It was tricky, fast, and caught people off guard. The steadily advancing Ligadron was steadily knocked away and crashed back into the sea.

Water splashed onto Ultraman Tiga's back.

Water droplets, tinged with the color of sunlight, pattered against the rocks and sand, like pearls falling onto a jade plate. If there hadn't been a wrecked plane parked in the woods, and no one lying inside, the splashing water wouldn't have been caused by a monster, and neither would what lay before us…

That would probably be a very nice seaside view.

“You should read the Ancient Creatures Illustrated Guide first,” the monster said. “It not only records Anomalocaris, trilobites, and dinosaurs, but the Illustrated Guide compiled internally by TPC contains many things that outsiders cannot imagine.”

Daigo's mind, which had been blankly staring at him, suddenly went blank.

"Just skim through 'Human Biomechanics,' the key is practical application. Munakata and Shinjo are both quite good; I remember I highlighted the important parts... You haven't finished reading it yet, have you?"

Daigo, whose mind was blank, nodded subconsciously.

Tiga nodded to the monster.

The pilot on the Flying Swallow II hesitated and moved the sights away. "The giant is in cahoots with it?" Horii opened his mouth, and the general language translator picked up another conversation that he couldn't understand but felt was full of information.

“‘A gang’ sounds awful!” Lina stared intently at Ligadron: “They should be called ‘comrades-in-arms’ or ‘partners’.”

The "comrades-in-arms" and "partners" she spoke of abandoned the giant and flew away in the next moment.

It has no wings, only silver light flowing through the gaps in its black scales. The light condenses on the bone spikes on its back, thus creating "wings".

"Is this a breakup?" Horii muttered. "Hikaru's wings are really beautiful, but..." It's strange, no one would think they're ugly on a beautiful angel, but on a hideous monster, it gives people the feeling that "it tore apart some poor angel and took his wings to play with."

With its wings spread wide, silvery light like stars fell on the island as a snowfall.

Silvery-white light swirled within the cockpit of the Flying Swallow II, reflecting the blank air.

Ligadron climbed out of the sea, its hands and feet flaming with blue flames, seemingly wanting to follow, but Tiga threw a palm-shaped light arrow that hit its leg, thus avenging its previous defeat.

“Although there are still some things I don’t understand,” Daigo said, manipulating his body into a fighting stance, “you can’t go up there to find the space station.”

Chapter Forty-Six: The Legend of Snow and the Sea

Delta Space Station.

Nanase Makoto had never been so grateful that they had focused on ground defense, giving the satellites "eyes" to see. The movements of Ligadron were being monitored clearly, and he was also observing the changes in the Reicuran alien pointing at him.

He was perhaps shaken by the situation where the giants were holding back Ligadron.

“If you were taking citizens hostage, TPC would hesitate, but unfortunately you are taking us hostage, 278 space station employees. Before going to space, we all signed death waivers, and we wrote our letters home as if they were our wills…” Nanase Seiji said, “I don’t dare to face my daughter because my job is dangerous, but she is even crazier than me—she joined a team that has to fight monsters.”

"But I know we both cherish each other. What about you, Reicouran alien?"

When the Reicuran alien saw the "monster" take off, he felt that the creature's posture was very familiar, as if he had seen it somewhere before, but he just couldn't remember where.

With its wings spread, large "snowflakes" of goose feathers fluttered and danced as the pitch-black "monster" rushed through the sonic boom cloud and into the starry sky. Only then did he suddenly recall the ancient legend.

Legend has it that many years ago, on this planet, there was a long, endless night and a seemingly never-ending snowfall.
