Chapter Four: Black Car and Marks

"The earthquake is still ongoing, and wave heights in Tokyo Bay have broken historical records! But strangely... the waves drop in height as they reach near the shore!"

Reiko Yoshii and others rushed to the dangerous outskirts of the city to gather material, while the reporters in the city were more at ease, and the aftershocks that could have caused panic were slowly weakening.

“The whole of Tokyo…” the reporter shouted from the raging sea in the distance, “is like being in the eye of a typhoon!”

The photographer knew how to cater to the audience's desires. After giving the reporter a close-up, he shifted the perspective to her side and behind, following her words.

The specially chosen high vantage point offers a panoramic view of parts of the city and the outer edge of the "eye of the typhoon," clearly showing a boundary in the footage.

Beyond the boundary, the wind and waves were fierce, the sea surface was grayish-black, and white foam rolled up all over the sky, surging up like a wall of water.

Within the boundaries, the weather is sunny and calm. If you're brave enough, you can still build sandcastles on the nearshore beach or even go into the water to retrieve seafood that has been photographed.

"What kind of mysterious power is this? Or is it a strange phenomenon from a monster? We..."

A bolt of lightning suddenly appeared on the sea surface.

The reporter paused, and although she was facing the camera, she could still see the trajectory of the "lightning" from her perspective—it was surprisingly long and narrow, long enough to span the entire city!

"What exactly is this...?" The reporter initially thought it was another harbinger of a storm, but just when everyone's attention was drawn to the sudden burst of bright light and they thought the "lightning" would be short-lived, it actually left its mark on the sky like a branding iron.

The scorching red marks spread outwards from a certain point, with occasional tongues of fire protruding from them. Just as they were about to crash into the city buildings, the air suddenly distorted, and the tongues of fire disappeared.

Countless eyes were drawn to the sudden phenomenon. The sky above Tokyo seemed to have become a pocket containing a scorching sun, with flames, or solar prominences, protruding through the cracks in the pocket, only to be blocked by an unknown force that protected the city.

The burning fissures glowed crimson, and the surrounding clouds were tinged with its light, like an early sunset that couldn't wait to arrive. It looked incredibly magnificent, even possessing a strange kind of beauty.

Only Renlong knew what had happened there: the "solar prominence" was less of a self-protrusion and more of a force that pushed it out, approaching the city buildings at a speed exceeding that of a Category 12 hurricane. The guardians of the ley lines had to be on high alert to wipe it away with ease.

"Did you bring a sun here?" Renlong frowned, his gaze fixed on the spot where the silver giant had disappeared.

He only sensed an unsettling force roaming the city, creating illusions among the humans, but he failed to perceive anything far more astonishing behind that force. Now it seemed that the silver giant was about to reveal the true enemy.

Renlong stopped sitting lazily and stood up from the top of the Dacheng Hall, causing another "earthquake" in the city that had calmed down.

Deep underground, the dragon that had been coiled here for many years opened its eyes, and the precious jade on its head lit up. At the same time, the tall and elegant figure on the roof of the palace turned into wisps of green smoke.

"Another aftershock!" The reporter who was broadcasting outside jogged away from the vicinity of the building, and the photographer carried his camera and ran wildly. The footage that had not yet been cut off was shaking so badly that he was oblivious to the world around him.

……

"I don't even know the full extent of Zolim's true form," an ethereal voice drifted through the clouds and flames. "Why not avoid him? I cannot yet seize your 'authority,' and your body is still under your own control."

Samuel opened his arms as if to embrace the formless flame—and he succeeded. The silver light blocked Zolim's breath. The flame wanted to burn everything, but before it fell to earth, this thin layer of light, which would be easily overlooked if not carefully observed, blocked its path to sweep across the world.

Occasionally, a crack appeared in the barrier, and the jet of air cutting through the space was like a high-pressure water jet encountering soft, solid gel. Because the owner of the space, Mezad, was nowhere to be found, this single breath easily shattered the "sleight of hand" that people had been searching for for many days.

Zolim's eyes were fully open, surging with scorching magma, striking even in the fiery lair, as if a star were truly suspended there, with the flames supporting it like a nebula.

It bared its fangs again, and Samuel knew the next breath was coming.

"Hey, if you don't run, I'm going to die here!" The pitch-black slime grinned and roared, "Even if the container is thick, you can't burn it like this! Have you ever seen glass burn?! Why don't you dodge?! Are you scared out of your wits?!"

"Shut up." The incessant chatter of these "resentful" beings was annoying, but their constant use of "container" reminded Samuel of something else.

The space created by Mezad is about to collapse. If even a tiny bit of Zolim's attack gets out, vaporizing an entire building would be the least of our worries.

So... what if there were a larger space that could encompass it?

It merely squeezed its head out of the wormhole; perhaps it could do it on its own. In any case, Samuel had to stop it before Gaiatten could deal with Zolim.

A vortex of flames surged from the behemoth's throat. This soft, invisible outer layer was compressed by Zolim into a tangible form. Samuel had barely glimpsed the tip of the vortex when it was already upon him.

A sharp whistling sound followed, trailing the tail of the vortex!

At this speed, the tip of the vortex is whittled into an extremely narrow shape, elongated and flattened as if it were coated with grease and then ignited.

The arrow.

Just as it was about to hit its target, the arrow pierced through the flowing clouds and raging flames, penetrating them—

A snowflake.

boom--!

It was as if a fiery meteor had fallen into the icy ocean, or a volcano had erupted on a glacier. Crimson flames and pale snow intertwined and danced, while water vapor mingled and rose into the air, quickly filling the not-so-large space and obscuring everything in a hazy, indistinct way.

The Meta Domain is connected to the bodies of the Ultra Warriors.

"Damn it! You're crazy! Let me out!" the pitch-black slime cursed. "I misjudged you. You're nothing but a 'superior vessel.' You're probably doomed before I even got my hands on you! I've lost so many brothers here!"

"Dream on." Samuel's answer was simple and easy to understand.

"Can't I just not want to use a giant's body to beat up Earthlings? If I'd known it was a black cab... ugh, all I could think about was a hard landing. If I crashed into it, it would have been a piece of junk that had successfully landed on a star. I would never have gotten on it!"

A dark, twisted arm with only two fingers was frantically digging around, unable to find a way in.

Samuel ignored him. A blazing fire burned on the icy ocean, and frost and snow instantly rose around it. The silver giant stood on silver flames, and the wind pressure pushed the flames aside. The eagle flapped its wings and fearlessly swooped down towards the behemoth whose size was disproportionate to its own!

"Ughhhhhh—!" The falcon swept a reluctant "crow" forward, the "crow" squawking loudly:

"Let me out!!!"

Chapter 105 A Fateful Reunion

The sky was quiet for a moment, followed by an even more intense outburst.

For a fleeting moment, Renlong felt as if he heard the dying cry of a swan, but it did not die after all; its crimson tongue of flame gushed forth, mixed with snow-white mist.

Who knows where that mist came from in the cloudless sky? The spiderweb-like cracks stopped spreading, and the fire flowing through them rolled from one end to the other like blood.

It doesn't look much different from before, except that the energy contained in the flames is much weaker. Renlong doesn't need to spend special effort to deal with it; the protection activated along with the earth veins is enough to protect the city.

Renlong didn't linger his attention on the air for long; someone else needed his attention.

"It's a giant!" the reporter exclaimed, urging the photographer to quickly adjust the focus. The photographer grabbed her, put her in the car, and sped off.

"This is excellent material! How can we compete with Reiko's group if we run away? They went straight out of town to gather material!"

"If you're going to gather material, you have to be able to report it," the photographer thought, keeping his eyes and ears open. He floored the accelerator and drove furiously to the outside of the giant's path: "That's a blue giant!"

The location the reporter had chosen was ultimately too close to the beach. She leaned against the front seat and thought for a moment before pointing in a new direction: "Let's go west then, that's far enough away, isn't it? The GUARD forecast says the monster from Mount Chichibu is heading towards Tokyo, let's try our luck there!"

"...To be honest, I just wanted to stay in the shelter and have a drone with a camera follow you around," the photographer sighed.

Before he could continue complaining, a small bump about a meter high suddenly appeared on the road. The photographer, who was speeding, swerved the steering wheel sharply, and the car twisted at a dangerous angle, with half of the wheels briefly hanging in the air, almost causing it to overturn on the spot.

boom!

The reporter stared in disbelief as a black shadow burst through the bulge and rose up from the concrete street.

There are always moments in life when, perhaps due to failing eyesight or a profound shock, you feel as if you have seen a deity.

That's a dragon.

A divine dragon with a dragon-headed jade, whose birth caused the world to change color.

Ancient legends tell of sealed monsters buried deep beneath bustling cities, like those in the Land of the Dead and Izanami. There are also enduring myths that say the gods reside in Takamagahara, floating on the sea and shrouded in clouds.

“Amaterasu Omikami…” The reporter reached out and clung to the photographer’s shoulder with a hand that looked like a frozen chicken claw: “Take a picture, take a picture!”

The dragon stood on auspicious clouds, majestic yet ferocious. It seemed to have just emerged from the water, with water droplets rolling off its opening and closing scales.

Its scales were black, but not as chilling as the night itself, more like an abyss that could suck away souls. It reflected the occasional bursts of firelight in the air, its edges translucent and tinged with a warm red.

Everyone who saw it could hardly believe their eyes.

Guided by KPIs, the reporter was fearless. She had the photographer set up the camera, then stood in front of it and exclaimed, "Is this the power that protects the city? Or is it an accomplice that drags the 'eye of the storm' into disaster in a reality where monsters are everywhere and gods have disappeared?"

The clear yellow eyes on the dragon's head glanced at her without the reporter noticing, but the photographer facing the direction of the dragon trembled, causing the image to shake.

"They heard you talking badly!" the photographer whispered a reminder.

The reporter, oblivious to the situation, exclaimed, "Quick, pan the camera! I see a smaller dragon head! Are they from the same family?"

The Renlong, dragging its long tail, walked towards the sea. Energy surging from the earth's veins flew towards it continuously, like planets orbiting their sun. Only then did people realize that the smaller dragon heads were its tail.

"I wasn't mistaken for Yamata no Orochi!" That's the optimistic tail.

"Those who don't listen to Old Dragon will suffer the consequences. The blue kid is in trouble. How do we turn him back to normal?" This is the veteran's tail that likes to draw out the last syllable.

"Let's fight first? The water's all black, it'll make the bath dirty."

"Oh, definitely don't go into the water to fight, but you might ruin the riverbed and baden the feng shui." This was the tail end of her irritable, fastidious attitude.

"Cake? What cake?" This was the question posed by the tail of the dog, who was lagging behind and wiping the floor.

"Good brothers, let's strangle this idiot!" This is the tail that always wants to kill each other.

Renlong continued walking forward with a dark face, his eight tails chattering behind him. One tail went around to try and strangle the one lying on the ground, but was stopped by the other two. The other three tails tied a knot for themselves first.

This is why he would rather no one see or speak than reveal his true form.

……

Meibaoshan, Gaia, and the Lightning Team finally found a way to deal with Zhong Naier.

They lured the berserk monster to release the energy from its shell into the air, and Zhong Nai'er fell asleep after exhausting its energy, freeing them to support the Cool Dragon team, who were being pushed back by Grimenos's relentless advance.

"If we retreat any further, we'll reach Tokyo! Is Hercules' team still reloading their ammunition?" Tadano Kei asked the operator, unable to contain his anxiety. "Our firepower is insufficient. What about the Lightning Team and the Falcon Team?"

"The Falcon Team is reportedly discussing a desperate charge at sea," Kajio Katsumi's voice cut through the communication. They had already flown into the nearby airspace and were about to engage Grimenos: "Lightning Team has located the target. Assistance initiated!"

On the other side, Gaia immediately spotted Agul, who was slowly making his way towards the city on the gray-black waves.
