Mystery: A Spark

"Alsace".
"I am here." Arthas appeared before Arthur.
Instead of its usual playful demeanor, it wore a solemn expression, knowing that Arthur was in a very bad mood.
"Contact Triss for me and tell her I want to eat fish," Arthur said, reaching out to rub Arthas's head.
"Understood." Arthas left without further ado.
……
Queens, Earl Hall.
As soon as Audrey entered her villa, she saw the servants carrying large bags back and forth.
She stepped forward and inquired briefly, only to learn that these were grains that Earl Hall had stockpiled for the war.
Audrey paused for a few seconds, then spoke to the servants:
"Stop moving for now, I need to go talk to my father."
The servants looked at each other, their faces showing some hesitation.
Seeing this, Audrey sighed softly, a faint golden light appearing in her eyes, her pupils narrowing slightly, and she spoke again:
"I said, let's stop the moving for now."
"Yes, Miss." This time, the servants bowed in unison and replied.
The strange sight in Audrey's eyes disappeared. She turned around and walked firmly toward the study.
Before the maid standing guard at the study door could go in to announce her arrival, Audrey pushed open the study door and walked in.
In the study, her father, Earl Hall, was discussing some matters with Hilbert.
"Oh, my dear, what's wrong?" Count Hall cast a surprised glance toward the door.
“Dad, we have too much food stockpiled at home. I want to buy some on behalf of the Umbrella Corporation to help civilians. Is that alright?” Audrey asked directly.
“Audrey, this is unnecessary,” Hilbert said, frowning slightly.
But Audrey did not respond to her brother's words; she simply looked at her father, waiting for his reply.
Earl Hall's expression, which had relaxed considerably due to his daughter's arrival, slowly turned serious again.
“Audrey, the premise of charity is not to affect your own and your family’s lives. This is a principle I hope you will keep in mind.”
Audrey remained unmoved and calmly said:
“Dad, the food we have stored at home is enough to feed everyone in this house for a whole year, or even more. Moreover, there is also a lot of food in East Chestershire. Even if we sell some of it, it won’t affect our lives.”
Earl Hall looked into his daughter's emerald-like eyes and sighed softly:
"But my daughter, none of us know how long this war will last, or what the final outcome will be. We must reserve plenty of food to deal with all of this."
“I can accept having two fewer delicious dishes at each meal to help those in need, but I don’t want my table to become like those middle-class tables described in the newspapers. That would completely destroy our dignity as aristocrats, something that we have upheld for generations.”
"Do you understand what I mean? I value the future of the family and our status more. I will only show love and kindness if it does not affect them. Compared to other things, the Hall family is more important to me than anything else."
“I’m sorry, Audrey, for letting you know that your father is a selfish man.”
“I see…” Audrey closed her eyes, and when she opened them again, they were as calm as an abyss. “I’m sorry, Dad, your reasoning doesn’t convince me.”
"What did you say?" Earl Hall asked, somewhat surprised.
“I mean, Dad, you’re tired, you should rest.” Audrey’s emerald-like eyes shone with a dazzling gold, her pupils transforming into cold, vertical slits.
“Daughter, you!” Earl Hall’s expression was initially one of astonishment, but then it became calm.
Audrey's gaze swept over Hibbert beside her, instantly sending a shiver down his spine.
"Little sister, let's talk this out."
“Brother, you won’t stop me, right?” Audrey asked.
"I, I can't..." Hilbert's gaze drifted somewhat awkwardly to a corner of the room.
Audrey looked over as well and said:
"Come out."
A man in a tuxedo and top hat appeared in the dark corner, looking at Audrey warily.
He felt that he was extremely unlucky today, because he never expected that the daughter of Earl Hall, whom he had been protecting and who looked like a piece of exquisite porcelain, would be even more powerful than him.
If you had to describe this man's feelings in one sentence, "Damn it!" would be the most fitting.
“Miss Audrey, please don’t do anything reckless. The church usually conducts regular inspections of noble families, and your behavior will be discovered soon,” the man said in a deep voice.
“I know, and I didn’t intend to use this method.” Audrey looked at Earl Hall again and dispelled the hypnotic power she had just used.
Earl Hall was initially bewildered, but then realized what had just happened.
He stood up angrily and said:
"Audrey, how could you do this!"
“Dad, I want to tell you that I am no longer a child. Now, Rune is seriously ill and needs a major operation to be reborn. The first step of this operation is to remove all the rotten flesh.”
"Times have changed, Dad. Today, I'm handling this matter, and there's still some warmth in the relationship. But if we wait for someone else to take action, the Hall family could truly be destroyed."
After saying that, Audrey turned and left without looking back, leaving Earl Hall standing there in a daze.
……
Stepping out of the villa, Audrey boarded a private carriage parked by the roadside and soon arrived at the Umbrella Corporation.
Upon entering the company building and reaching her office on the top floor, Audrey summoned her secretary and instructed her:
"Notify all the merchants we cooperate with that they must stabilize prices as quickly as possible. I will personally visit anyone who attempts to hoard goods and disrupt the market."
Her voice trailed off, as if she were thinking about something.
Soon, Audrey spoke again:
"Also, warn them in my name against excessive hoarding of food and salt, or else..."
She took a deep breath, her tone turning icy:
“I will personally hang them and then hang them on the streetlights.”
Upon hearing this, the secretary's hand visibly trembled as she took notes.
She glanced at Audrey with some awe, bowed, and left.
……
Inside a private room of a coffee shop in the East District.
Arthur looked at the beautiful, round-faced woman opposite him and smiled:
“Hello, Ms. Garona, it seems we haven’t met before.”
"I never imagined that Lord Arthas was backed by you, Mr. Heller." Triss looked around the private room, which seemed to be shrouded in a layer of black gauze, and sighed softly.
She had speculated about all sorts of possibilities in her mind, trying to find out who Arthas's mysterious master was, or which secret organization he belonged to, but she never expected that the other party was actually a well-known public figure in Rune.
Judging from the fact that the other party is now blocking out the entire private room, their own rank is probably not low, not to mention the hidden forces that must exist behind this Mr. Heller.
At that moment, Triss truly saw the hope of her revenge.
"Your Excellency, what would you like me to do?" Triss asked respectfully.
“Do what you want to do most,” Arthur said with a smile.
Triss's eyes suddenly brightened, and a charming smile appeared on her face.
She asked curiously:
"So, Your Excellency, what exactly should I do?"
"I will create enough opportunities for you, and all you need to do is fire this bullet at the right time..."
Arthur took out a small box and pushed it toward Triss.
"Shoot it into that person's head."
Chapter 282 Arthur's utterly bewildered expression
"bullet?"
Triss curiously took the small box.
She hesitated for two seconds, then asked:
"Can I... open it and take a look?"
“Yes, as long as you can endure the pain,” Arthur replied.
“Pain…” Triss smiled gently. “What does pain mean to me?”
She easily broke through the spiritual wall on the small box and opened it.
When Triss reached out and gently touched the black bullet lying quietly in the small box, a series of illusory roars immediately swept through her mind, seemingly trying to tear apart and destroy her spirit and thoughts.
The intense pain caused Triss to instinctively cover her head and let out a captivating groan.
Hearing her moan, Arthur unconsciously shifted his sitting position and straightened his clothes.
No wonder Lao Huang was so impressed back then, witches are just too overpowered... Arthur thought to himself.
Triss was in great pain, but instead of pulling her hand away from the black bullet, she gripped it tightly.
A bright smile appeared on Triss's face, which was slightly contorted with pain.
She laughed freely and wildly, her eyes reddening and tears streaming down her face.
"Haha...hahaha...hahahahaha..."
Arthur watched this scene calmly.
At that moment, he inexplicably felt a profound sorrow.
A man turned into a woman, her hands stained with the blood of the innocent, her heart devoid of normal good and evil, and she should have gradually fallen into the hell of sin.
However, fate is so unpredictable. In a manipulated conspiracy, this person encountered the brightest light of her life.
