Mystery: A Spark

If we were to place George III's actions in Arthur's previous life, he would probably only be compared to one of the most incompetent emperors.
They allowed cultists to release Wen Yi (a homophone for "people") in their capital, and not only that, they also made them use their own people as sacrifices to summon evil gods.
Moreover, when the enemy attacked, they allowed their airships to drop bombs over their capital.
Is this something a normal monarch could do? Perhaps only that emperor who helped an enemy state open its own country's gates can compare to him.
Perhaps the Gatekeeper Emperor is even better than him.
Even in his later years when things were going badly, Russell never did anything so outrageous.
Of course, the things Lao Huang did in his later years weren't exactly great either.
If George III had dared to wage war and capture foreign citizens to build his mausoleum, Arthur would probably have thought more highly of him.
If he had actually done that, Klein might not have been so determined to fight him to the death at that time.
However, the things George III did in the original story can only be described as utterly hopeless.
He was a monarch, yet he lacked the magnanimity of one.
One glance at the thimble indicates it's a defense.
"Your memory is incomplete now?" Bernadette's tone was slightly taken aback.
“Yes, those memories are too dangerous. Even if angels knew about them, it might cause problems,” Arthur said seriously.
“I understand. Don’t worry, I won’t bring his diary to you for translation. I’ve waited a hundred years, and I’m not in a hurry.” Bernadette lowered her gaze slightly.
Phew, that's good... Arthur breathed a slight sigh of relief.
"Where are you from?" Bernadette asked, looking up at Arthur.
"Uh... I'm from Rune, my hometown is Backlund." Arthur didn't need to hide this from her.
“Hmm.” Bernadette nodded, then asked:
"So, what are your plans next? Do you intend to stay at sea indefinitely?"
Arthur licked his lips, then tentatively asked:
"So, ma'am, where do you think I should go next?"
“It’s your decision,” Bernadette said calmly.
"I've made my own decision. I actually want to go back to Rune..." Arthur thought to himself.
But he still wanted to try and see if he could pull some strings and see what Bernadette really thought.
"I think I'll stay at sea for the rest of my life..."
“Hmm?” Bernadette made a dangerous nasal sound.
“That’s obviously pointless, ma’am. I think I’d better go back to Backlund.” Arthur changed his mind very quickly.
"Well, did you find a suitable ship to send you back?" Bernadette asked, seemingly out of curiosity.
"Madam, do you have any good recommendations?" Arthur was naturally not going to fall for the same trick twice.
“I think the Future is a very good choice. It’s safe and stable enough to get you back to Backlund unharmed, don’t you agree?” Bernadette said softly.
“Yes, the Future is a very good option, but it doesn’t seem like it’s easy to board, ma’am. I feel like I might not be able to afford the fare,” Arthur said with some concern.
"You don't need to worry about that. You can go directly after the pirate tournament ends," Bernadette said gently.
“Yes, madam, I’ll go after the pirate tournament.” Arthur naturally had no objection to this.
He would be more than happy to get a free ship to take him back.
Moreover, if it were the Future, at least it wouldn't have suffered a shipwreck due to a storm like the original owner did.
To be honest, Arthur was actually a little intimidated by the sea.
He had originally planned to find an old captain who had been soliciting passengers for years to take him back, but now that's no longer necessary.
Bernadette was about to leave, but before she did, she seemed to remember something.
A slight smile appeared on her face as she said:
"Oh right, I forgot to tell you earlier, that ball of light was actually just an ordinary ball of light."
As she spoke, she made another ball of light in her hand and then turned it into various colors.
Arthur: ? ? ?
His facial muscles twitched involuntarily. He took a deep breath and then revealed the same twisted expression that Cao Kefan had after tasting the large intestine.
The enclosed space formed by the pea vines dissipated, leaving only Bernadette's soft chuckle.
Damn it, I've been hunting geese all day and yet I've been pecked in the eye by one. This wretched woman has no martial ethics, she came to deceive and ambush me, a young comrade... Arthur wiped his face and thought indignantly.
hateful!
I will remember this grudge!
He had actually suspected the spell before, but circumstances were beyond his control, and there was no point in exposing it.
Arthur never expected that not only did Huang Beibei lie to him, but she also had to gloat before leaving.
"Hey kid, what's with that expression?" Danitz noticed Arthur's unusual expression and asked curiously.
Arthur glanced at Danitz and let out a heavy sigh.
"Danitz, I've been scammed."
"Oh? You're such a shrewd guy, how could you get scammed? Tell me, which hero did such a great thing?" Danitz said with a smug grin, as if he had just encountered a great joy.
Arthur rolled his eyes at him, too lazy to bother with the guy anymore.
He turned to look at Edwina and said:
"Captain, I will be leaving after the pirate tournament ends."
Edwina nodded and said:
"I understand. Have you found a boat to go back?"
She knew that Arthur had just spoken with Bernadette, so she wasn't surprised that he was leaving soon.
"Don't worry, Captain, I've already found a ship to take us back," Arthur replied.
"Kid, why are you in such a hurry to leave?" Danitz asked from the side.
"Yes, I've already made an appointment with someone else." Arthur nodded.
"When was this agreed upon? How come I didn't know?" Danitz asked, somewhat puzzled.
He's been staying with Arthur the whole time these past two days, and I haven't seen him talk to anyone else.
"Danitz, stop asking," Edwina stopped him from pressing for details.
Danitz paused for a moment, then had to suppress his curiosity.
The pirate tournament was drawing to a close, and Arthur had essentially achieved his goal for the event.
His savings had grown to £2,500, and he was no longer the penniless pauper he once was.
His last objective at sea was to obtain the arsonist's formula from Danitz.
At that moment, Danitz handed him a note.
"Here, take this. I promised you."
Chapter 40 Future (Please continue reading!)
"This is... the arsonist's recipe? You just gave it to me?" Arthur opened the note, glanced at it, and asked in surprise.
“If you feel bad about it, you can give me eight or ten thousand pounds as a reward,” Danitz chuckled.
A Sequence 7 potion recipe usually costs at least 800 pounds. The witch recipe that Arthur asked Edwina to help sell previously even sold for more than 900 pounds due to the auction.
But no matter what, £18,000 is just ridiculous.
Therefore, this recipe was actually given to Arthur by Danitz.
Edwina had the recipe notarized, and after the notarization was valid, Arthur carefully placed the recipe in his suitcase.
Then, Danitz handed him another box.
"What's in here?" Arthur asked curiously.
"It's just a cheap little trinket, consider it a parting gift. You can see it after you board the ship," Danitz said nonchalantly.
"Okay, thank you for the gift." Arthur smiled and put the box away.
He then bid farewell to the crew of the Golden Dream and headed toward the Future, which was docked on the shore.
……
Captain's cabin of the Future.
“Your Majesty, I thought…you would never see me again.” Cattleya said, looking at Bernadette before her, somewhat excitedly.
“I’m letting you leave the Dawn not because I despise you, but because your fate is not in my hands,” Bernadette said calmly.
“But Queen, I have been away from you for many years, yet I still do not feel any change in my fate,” Cattleya said, puzzled.
“Fate is unpredictable, and all we can do is wait,” Bernadette sighed softly.
She has waited so long for an opportunity to be promoted to angel, but the right time still hasn't come.
Perhaps only the gods in the heavens can see through fate.
Bernadette's visit to the Pirate Convention was originally just a stopover, so she took the opportunity to visit the little girl she had raised.
But when she quietly arrived at Cattleya's side, she sensed a slight shift in her destiny.
After a careful search and eavesdropping for a while, Bernadette finally realized that the blond young man with somewhat familiar clothes was the one who had caused the upheaval in her fate.
At first, Bernadette thought the young man was a descendant of her father's illegitimate child, whom she didn't know where he had left off.
Because of his attire, Bernadette had seen it on her father when she was a child.
Although she learned about a character named "Anduin" after asking out of curiosity, she didn't actually know much about his story.
This was something only she and her two siblings knew about, which is why she suspected that the young man might be a descendant of her father's illegitimate child.
