“But Jerry, it’s curfew time at Hogwarts now, you’ve broken the school rules.”

Jerry wanted to say something in his defense, but Dumbledore didn't give him the chance and went straight into the room that had suddenly appeared.

Left with no other choice, Jerry had to follow.

Upon entering the room, Jerry discovered it was an abandoned classroom, completely empty except for a large mirror against the wall.

The mirror has a gold frame, and the inscription "Eris Stella Ehru Aitwubi Kafru Aiton Voch" is engraved at the top of the mirror.

The mirror is supported by two claw-shaped feet, giving it a noble and mysterious feel.

Jerry recognized the mirror; it was the Mirror of Erised.

Dumbledore stood before the Mirror of Erised, gazing intently at the mirror as if searching for or longing for something.

After a short while, Dumbledore smiled and turned to look at Jerry. "This mirror reflects everyone's deepest desires and dreams. Would you like to try it?"

Hearing Dumbledore's words, Jerry thought to himself, "Now that you've said that, how can I refuse?"

Standing in front of the mirror, Jerry suddenly looked sad, and tears welled up in his eyes.

Not long after, Jerry slipped away from the mirror and stood next to it.

After gently wiping away the tears from the corners of her eyes, she said to Dumbledore in a slightly choked voice, "I'm sorry, Professor, I was a little out of line just now. I saw a middle-aged couple in the mirror. They must be my parents. I saw them living happily together."

Hearing Jerry's words, Dumbledore comforted him, saying, "Jerry, you must remember that it is of no benefit to indulge in illusory dreams and neglect real life."

……

After saying goodbye to Dumbledore, Jerry returned to his dormitory with a touch of sadness.

Upon entering the dormitory, Jerry buried himself under the covers. Once completely submerged in the darkness of the fabric, his expression changed drastically. He didn't show the slightest sadness; instead, a cunning glint flashed in his eyes.

Chapter 27 The Water of Life and Death

night.

"Huff... Huff..." Jerry was startled awake once again in his Slytherin dormitory. Ever since he looked into the Mirror of Erised on the fourth floor last week, he had been plagued by the same nightmare.

After meeting Dumbledore on the fourth floor that night, he knew it was a trap set for him.

Dumbledore may have been waiting for his nighttime stroll.

So the moment Jerry saw the Mirror of Erised, he kept telling himself that no matter what the mirror showed, he had to pretend he saw his family and act as if he was looking longing and sad.

Jerry knew that Dumbledore wouldn't easily use Legilimency on others.

As long as he acts convincingly enough, given Dumbledore's current personality, even if he harbors suspicions, he won't take any dangerous action against him.

As it turned out, Jerry was right.

Jerry didn't actually see anything in the Mirror of Erised, not even his own reflection.

But from Jerry's perspective, the Mirror of Eris was shrouded in a terrifying black mist, making it impossible to see anything clearly.

That black mist was clearly not something a proper wizard should have. Jerry himself was actually a little confused. What he, being introverted, craved most was not... (crossed out), not power, not knowledge, but the strange black mist.

Do I have some kind of hidden, strange XP?

Jerry always considered himself a polite, gentle, and cheerful wizard, possessing numerous outstanding titles such as an outstanding student at Hogwarts, Snape's most trusted disciple, and the most handsome boy in Slytherin.

Therefore, he would never reveal to Dumbledore his deep longing for that evil and terrifying black mist, otherwise Dumbledore would definitely associate it with dark wizardry.

Dumbledore has already nurtured a Voldemort; he will absolutely not allow a second one to appear.

Jerry thought that as long as he didn't talk about it, everything would pass, and he wouldn't need to dwell on the past anymore.

However, what was about to break him was only just beginning.

From that night on, Jerry had the same dream almost every night. He dreamt that he was in a world shrouded in black mist, everything around him was blurred by the mist, and even the ground beneath his feet was dark.

The feeling in the dream was so real; he could clearly feel the terror, oppression, and suffocation brought by the black fog.

If Jerry didn't know Dumbledore and Snape's character so well, he would have suspected that they had cast some kind of spell on him or secretly drugged him.

……

Hermione noticed that Jerry had been listless lately and asked with some concern, "Jerry, what's wrong with you? You always look so tired."

"It's nothing, I've just been having some trouble sleeping lately, I'll be fine after a rest. Let's go, don't be late for class."

In the afternoon, it was Potions class, which Slytherin and Gryffindor attended together.

“Jerry Green, stand up and tell me what color the truth serum is?” Snape walked up to Jerry and asked.

"Colorless, Professor."

Glancing at Jerry's dark circles, Snape said, "Mr. Green, didn't you sleep last night? Did you go out for a night stroll? As your headmaster, I feel it's necessary to remind you that night strolls are against school rules."

Jerry rubbed his face, trying to clear his head, and then replied, "No, Professor, it's just that I haven't been sleeping well lately, I've been having some insomnia."

Snape glanced at Hermione, who was sitting next to Jerry with a worried look on her face, and said expressionlessly, "Come to my office after class."

After class, Jerry said goodbye to Hermione and went to Snape's office. He knocked and entered, only to find him brewing a potion.

When Snape saw Jerry standing listlessly in the doorway, he said coldly and expressionlessly, "What are you standing there for? Come here and chop up the daffodil roots."

Upon hearing Snape's words, Jerry put down his textbook, picked up the knife on the table, and began to cut.

Before long, Jerry finished his work and handed the finished product to Snape.

"Are you the brain of a troll? Can't you see I'm busy? Pour it into the mugwort infusion over there."

Jerry: "..."

"Mr. Green, let me ask you a question. Do you know what kind of potion I'm preparing?"

Looking at the herbs around him, Jerry thought for a moment and tentatively said, "Is it the Water of Life and Death, Professor Snape? But the dosage of the herbs seems wrong."

"You're right, it is indeed the Water of Life and Death, but it's difficult for your mind to comprehend its mysteries. Now you should know what your next step is?"

Jerry ignored Snape's taunts, picked up a Sleepy Bean from the table next to him, flattened it with a knife, squeezed out its juice, and quickly put it into a cauldron that was still heating up. The potion immediately turned into a pale blue-white color.

Snape came over to Jerry and, watching Jerry's actions, said with some surprise, "I didn't expect you to know how to squeeze the juice out of the Sleepy Beans with a knife. Not bad, a bit better than the troll's brain."

Jerry: "..."

Over the years, Jerry has been speechless more times than he has today in Snape's office. If you can't compliment someone, then don't compliment them at all.

Ignoring the speechless Jerry, Snape picked up the medicine spoon and began stirring. He stirred it seven times counterclockwise, then once clockwise, and the potion immediately changed from pale blue to pale pink.

"Professor, you're amazing!" Jerry couldn't help but flatter Snape as he watched his actions.

Snape ignored Jerry and, after completing all his tasks, asked seriously, "Mr. Green, I hope you can tell me the truth: you really didn't go out for a night stroll?"

"Of course, Professor, I never break school rules."

Snape snorted and said, "I hope what you're saying is true. If I find out you're lying—and I mean anyone—I will expel you from Hogwarts."

"Pack the water of life and death, take it back, and remember that you can only drink a small half-spoonful from the stirring spoon at a time."

Jerry was somewhat surprised. What was wrong with Snape today? Was he sick with a fever? Or had his brain been damaged by the fever? How could he be so kind as to prepare sleeping pills for him when he hadn't slept well?

If the other Slytherin students knew this, they would definitely think I was still asleep!

Jerry looked at Snape and asked doubtfully, "Professor Snape, are you sure?"

Seeing that Jerry was actually questioning him, Snape couldn't help but yell, "Idiot, what are you still standing there for? Do you want me to bottle it for you? Get yourself together and get out of my office!"

Okay, Snape is still the same familiar Snape!

Chapter 28 Alchemy Bracelet

"Whoo~"

Inside the "Always Available" room, Jerry let out a long breath, wiped the fine sweat from his forehead, and picked up the artwork on the table—a silver bracelet engraved with magical patterns that seemed to shimmer in the endless night.

This was the first item Jerry had successfully crafted, and he could sense the extremely faint magic within the bracelet.

The bracelet functions similarly to Neville's Memory Sphere, but it can talk and tell you what you've forgotten.

"F**k, kid, hurry up and inject magic power, I'm starving!" A voice, whether male or female, came from the bracelet.

Jerry?

Jerry opened the basic alchemy book next to him and carefully compared the contents word by word. After confirming that his steps were correct, he scratched his head, looking confused and puzzled.

He followed the steps in the alchemy book exactly, so why is the bracelet he made so strange?

What kind of lousy alchemy is this? BYD is disgusting, isn't it?! The bracelets they created smell awful!

Seeing that the memory bracelet was still cursing, Jerry picked up a small box next to him, preparing to put it inside.

"S**t, I need magic! What are you doing? And don't eat the pickled radish!"

"Quietus"

After putting the bracelet into the box, Jerry quickly took out his wand and cast a silent spell on the box, instantly silencing the bracelet's curses.

Originally, this silver bracelet was the first piece Jerry had successfully crafted in his alchemical career, and he had thought of keeping it as a memento of the beginning of his journey to becoming an alchemist master.

But given the bracelet's foul mouth, Jerry has decided to give it away. Neville would be a good match. I wonder if Neville will be touched when he gets the bracelet!

……

The next morning, at the Gryffindor long table, Jerry saw Hermione and the new Harry trio having their meal, so he went over and sat down.

"Hey Neville, I have something for you!"

Upon hearing Jerry's words, everyone looked up and stared at him curiously.

Jerry then took a small wooden box out of his shirt pocket and handed it to Neville.

"This is the first alchemical item I've ever created. It works similarly to your memory orb, Neville, but it will remind you of things you've forgotten."

Of the four, only Hermione knew that Jerry was learning alchemy; the other three—Harry, Ron, and Neville—were completely clueless.

Left with no other option, Jerry explained the situation to them. Aside from Hermione, who was somewhat agitated, the other three stared at Jerry as if he were a monster.
