According to the map of Teyvat, that's where Sumeru, the kingdom ruled by the Grass God, lies. When the mental shackles descended upon this region, a peculiar spirit attempted to contend with Bai Chen's spiritual power. However, that spiritual fluctuation wasn't strong, and it was far too greedy. Knowing its own weakness, it still tried to cover and protect the entire Sumeru. The result, unsurprisingly, was a futile attempt. If Bai Chen hadn't harbored no ill will towards it, it might have even been invaded in return.

Even so, Bai Chen still managed to intercept a portion of his spiritual power.

"Little Lucky Grass King? What a strange title... But this void system is quite interesting. I wonder if it contains the knowledge we need." Bai Chen muttered as he flipped through the memories remaining in that part of his spiritual power.

Such a trivial matter certainly didn't require Bai Chen to personally intervene. He only needed to send his mechanical legion to Sumeru, and if the so-called Order Academy didn't want to see the entire forest turn into barren land, they would have no choice but to obediently hand over all their treasured knowledge.

However, just as Bai Chen was about to select a group of mechanical legions under his command, the simulation system, which had been silent for a long time, suddenly popped up.

To be honest, if Bai Chen didn't still need the system to simulate transforming into Herrscher form, he would have almost forgotten about the system's existence. Recently, seemingly due to leaving the Honkai world for Teyvat, the system hasn't spoken up on its own for a long time, and the daily tasks it regularly issues offer pitifully small rewards, making them not worth doing.

[Achievement Quest: The Good Samaritan Sets Sail]

[Mission Introduction: This world is not so small; above lies a vast starry sky. Set out to bring the gifts of destruction and collapse to every galaxy, and test those civilizations still in their cradles.]

A bizarre achievement task with no reward listed below, and the progress bar representing the task's progress is just a series of question marks.

This was the first time Bai Chen had ever seen such a strange and baffling task in the simulation system. The task seemed very random, as if the system had just decided to issue some task on a whim to show off its gradually fading presence.

Judging from the mission description, it seems that Bai Chen is to set sail to the depths of space and bring Honkai energy to this vast universe. However, up to now, Bai Chen has not yet left the planet where the Honkai was born. Even after arriving in the Teyvat world, he has only passed through the quantum sea beneath the planet and, in essence, has not entered the universe.

Scrolling up and down, I found that there was no further description of the task, and all the related pages were rows and rows of question marks, as if they were computer pages with errors.

Bai Chen guessed that it might be because he hadn't actually set foot in the starry sky yet, but his actions in the Teyvat world had prematurely triggered this achievement quest. Therefore, although the quest appeared, he couldn't view its specific requirements and content.

In other words, he unknowingly exploited a bug and stole some information from the system that he wouldn't know about in the future.

Bai Chen repeatedly studied the mission's description, and some mysteries that had been lingering in his mind since he arrived in the Honkai World gradually came to light.

He was actually very puzzled. After arriving in the Honkai world, he obtained the simulation qualification to become a Herrscher, but the system did not give him the same detailed task instructions as before. Instead, it seemed to be letting him do whatever he wanted.

If we follow the progression of the Honkai world, I've already traversed nearly half of this world. There are only 13 Herrschers in total, and I've already met almost half of them. If everything goes smoothly from here on out, it might only take less than a year before I face the Herrscher of the End, undergo final judgment, and witness the end of the story.

However, if the Honkai world determined by the system is not limited to Earth, but includes the entire universe and starry sky, that is, the entire Honkai universe, then Bai Chen's journey has undoubtedly just begun. Even if he really leads humanity to defeat the end and usurps the power of the Honkai will, it is just a ripple on a small planet in a main world. To many parallel worlds and the entire universe, it is just a tiny grain of rice.

"The final outcome... it can't be that I'll have to become the Emperor's golden toilet in this world before I can leave, can it?" Bai Chen couldn't help but rub his temples. He had thought that by defeating the End and banishing the Honkai, he could leave this Honkai world and embark on the next journey. But judging from the current situation, it seemed that leaving this world was a long way off, and he might not be able to leave even if he spent his entire life doing so.

But it's too early to think about these things now. We have to wait until we defeat the Herrscher of the End before we can consider what kind of stories might happen between those stars that are much farther away from Earth.

Putting aside his lamentations about the system, Bai Chen returned his spiritual power to the Hall of Heroes. With a command issued, the mighty torrent of steel surged forward along the tunnels beneath the towering abyss towards the Sumeru Kingdom, covered in trees and flowers.

"All legions, enter minimum kill mode. The purpose of the Supreme Will is to domesticate and cultivate, to build high walls outside human strongholds. They are livestock, we are the masters. Let them know that this continent belongs to the machine swarm."

Hydra's cold electronic commands transformed into electric currents flowing within the electronic panels of every soldier in the squadron, their red electronic eyes illuminating the dark underground like a blood-red sky.

When the commandments descended upon the entirety of Teyvat, the unsuspecting ordinary people had yet to realize the impact this would have on their lives, while those who were different from ordinary people, possessing divine vision or non-human bloodlines, such as immortals, demons, and ghosts, had already discovered the gravity of the situation.

In the distant Inazuma, at Narukami Shrine, Yae no Miko looked at the row of shrine maidens standing before her with an unprecedentedly gloomy expression.

"Say it again, how many is this?"

Yae no Miko held a blank sheet of paper in her hand. The blank sheet of paper was not the point; the point was the nine-digit number written on it.

All the shrine maidens at Narukami Taisha have received higher education. Daughters from ordinary families have no chance to enter this shrine. Only daughters of branch families of the shrine's head priests or daughters of powerful and wealthy merchants in Inazuma Province can work here.

However, these shrine maidens, who were well-versed in astronomy, geography, mathematics, and strategy, looked at each other in bewilderment, wondering why Lady Yae no Miyagi was so angry.

"This is a nine-digit number, not three digits put together!" Yae no Miko's voice trembled slightly, not only because of anger, but also because of an uncontrollable fear rising from the bottom of her heart.

“But, Lord Miyaji, we don’t recognize such numbers. Aren’t numbers supposed to have a maximum of four digits?” a shrine maiden who usually performed divinations said cautiously.

She was the best mathematician among all the priestesses, yet she couldn't fully grasp the concept of numbers that Yae no Miko spoke of.

Scattered at Yae no Miko's feet were nearly a hundred sheets of white paper, each with a drawing or exercise on it. Upon discovering the appearance of the commandments, she immediately began to investigate the effects of the spiritual imprints that had descended upon each person, and the final results left her utterly astonished by her test.

"Everyone, return home immediately. From now on, Narukami Shrine will be closed. You can also go back and tell your parents that war is coming."

The white paper in Yae no Miko's hand burned into ashes. After uttering those words, she turned and walked away without looking back toward the sacred cherry tree that had always stood in Narukami Taisha.

This is no longer a question of whether Yae no Kamiko wants it or not. Due to Bai Chen's deliberate control, the discipline's suppression of civilization has reached an intolerable limit. With most concepts of numbers erased from the collective consciousness, human civilization, originally built on mathematics, will disintegrate within days.

First, there is the complete collapse of the economic system; second, there are massive oversights in politics and people's livelihoods. Unless civilization collapses back to a primitive era where bartering can be completed without numbers, there is no way to resist the influence of the shackles of consciousness on civilization.

This was the simplest way Bai Chen could think of to intimidate someone, and it was also the gentlest warning he felt he could give.

The Herrscher is an entity that destroys civilizations, and he is merely continuing what this identity is supposed to do.

As a nine-tailed fox who has lived for hundreds of years, Yae no Miko placed one hand on the Divine Cherry Tree, and then the entire fox turned into a ball of purple lightning and entered a huge space of consciousness hidden by the Divine Cherry Tree.

"Get up, get up! There's no time for playing house anymore, my Lord Thunder General! If you don't come out soon, the whole world will be destroyed!"

Yae no Miko's fur bristled, revealing her true form: a giant pink and white fox whose four paws pounded the ground below, which was filled with countless sparks of electricity.

In the center of this space of consciousness sat a purple figure. Yae no Miko had not originally intended to disturb this friend, but since things had come to this point, she had no choice but to forcibly awaken her and let her deal with the impending upheaval.

Chapter Thirty-Six: The Mechanical Catastrophe

Leaving aside the Yae no Miko, who is awakening the Thunder General while overseas, inside the Divine Cherry Tree, Sumeru is facing an unprecedented challenge among the nations.

In the lush forest, a team of forest rangers were moving among the trees. This was a unique position in Sumeru. These forest rangers were like the guards of other kingdoms, but unlike the others, they were mainly responsible for patrolling the forest. They not only had to regularly clear out the wild beasts that appeared in the forest, but also deal with the monsters and strange occurrences that might appear at any time.

At the same time, whether it's a lost child, forgotten items, goods being shipped, or protection requests... almost all matters concerning people's livelihoods can be entrusted to the forest rangers. Therefore, they are also the most respected people among the children of Sumeru.

At this moment, the two forest rangers who were hurrying through the dense forest were about to pull ahead of the team members behind them. This was not only because they had better physical strength than the other ordinary team members, but also because the green eyes of the gods were shimmering with a faint light on their waists.

They are all holders of the Grass Element Eye. Among them, the girl with short green hair is named Kolai, while the cute, fluffy young man with ears that look like both a rabbit and a fox is her master, Tinari.

“You don’t need to follow me anymore. Time is of the essence. Since you don’t have the Eye of God, you might as well turn back and guard the forest.”

Occasionally, special four-leaf clover marks can be found among the forests of Sumeru. These special marks left by the grass gods can only be triggered by elemental users who possess the Eye of God.

A golden thread pulled him to the top of the tree. Tinali leaped onto a branch and shouted to the rest of the team members who were following far below.

In a normal patrol, he would never use elemental power like this, leaving his important team members behind. But the situation was different now; he had received a "divine decree" to carry out a special mission that he could not tell anyone.

The forest rangers, already panting and exhausted, looked at each other and finally had no choice but to give up, squatting down to recover their strength.

Countless golden lines rippled between the four-leaf clover imprints, and Tinari, carrying Cole, floated and flew through the depths of the dense forest like Spider-Man from a movie.

"Master, was that voice really from the Grass God?" After crossing another mountain, the girl could no longer contain her doubts and asked her master beside her.

Tina nodded emphatically, the grass elemental power emanating from her body becoming even more active: "That's right, that's Lord Little Lucky Grass King. I never expected that those great sages in the Order of the Fathers who always flaunt their wisdom and consider themselves superior would dare to provoke even demons from another world, bringing such a huge calamity upon themselves."

Just moments ago, he and Cole were simultaneously drawn into a vast, inexplicable dream. The dream contained many adorable little creatures, mushroom-like beings living in their own treehouses. All the treehouses were connected, forming a massive dream array, serving as the anchor point between reality and spirit within this divine dream world.

And it was in this dream world that they met a deity they had never met before. Although she looked like a very cute little girl, the power and ability she possessed were indeed special powers that only a deity could have.

According to the Grass Goddess who called herself Narcida, a terrifying spiritual mark was imposed upon all living beings on the continent of Teyvat by demons from another world. Originally, the Grass Goddess wanted to protect the people of Sumeru, but the power of the demons from that world was simply too great; even the Grass Goddess could not contend with their abilities. Ultimately, she could only settle for protecting all those who possessed the Grass Elemental Eye, using the connection to this eye to prevent their wisdom from being clouded by the demons from that world.

Although she couldn't yet determine the extent to which people's wisdom had been clouded, she knew that part of what the demons of the other world needed was precisely that precious knowledge recorded in the void. The most important thing now was to seal off the tunnel leading from the Layered Rock Abyss to Sumeru. If the tunnel wasn't completely closed, the demons of the other world already stationed in the Layered Rock Abyss might very well attack Sumeru's interior along the tunnel.

The Grass God entrusted this task to the master and apprentice, Tinari and Kolai. Each of them carried a green crystal containing most of the power left behind by the previous Grass God who had passed away. By throwing the crystal into the tunnel, the tunnel could be completely sealed off, delaying the demon's attack.

So they traveled through the dense forest of Mount Sumeru at the fastest speed they could muster, and arrived at the place indicated by the oracle in almost the time it takes for an incense stick to burn.

However, standing atop the tallest tree, Tinari and Corleone held their breath, looking down at the ground, their hearts filled with despair.

Below, a lush jungle once grew, but now it has vanished. Flames and giant blades have burned and cleared the forest, creating a vast clearing.

The narrow tunnels that could only accommodate a few people were expanded by mechanical octopuses with several tentacles growing on them. They even built a simple ramp at the bottom, allowing tanks and armored vehicles to enter the Sumeru Land smoothly.

Tinari had certainly seen those relic weapons scattered in the wilderness, but while those relic weapons were also very powerful, and some even had cores that seemed to never stop burning, they were just a few scattered pieces, unlike now, where thousands of cold metal mechanical creations were gathered below, and a continuous stream of identical mechanical soldiers were emerging from the tunnels.

However, none of these were the most terrifying things. What truly terrified Cole was the horrible creature that nearly made him lose consciousness, and which he would have fallen from the tree if he hadn't been holding onto his master's arm. It was a bizarrely shaped, indescribably ugly bio-monster that appeared alongside the mechanical soldiers.

None of those things looked alike. Some had tentacles, some had varying numbers of armored feet or animal hooves, and their appearances were very random. Facial features grew on any part of their deformed bodies. There was even a monster that looked like a wild boar, with three small female mouths containing eyeballs growing from a pile of huge, grape-like eggs below it.

They all came from Dr. May's laboratory. Although they look terrible, if you trace their origins, these monsters are actually the followers of the gods.

Chapter Thirty-Seven: On that day, people remembered the fear of imprisonment.

From a certain perspective, the Teyvat world has become an experimental field for everyone in the Honkai world. As an important researcher, Dr. Mei can certainly conduct her own special experiments in this experimental field.

These special creatures, which Dr. May named "Children of God," all contain genes from Barbatos. Due to the immaturity of the manufacturing technology, all Children of God are extremely deformed species.

But their deformities are precisely where their value lies. It is because it is impossible to understand why their genetic sequence, under such adverse conditions, still possesses a considerable degree of intelligence and mental strength, and even animal instincts and learning abilities like gorillas, that Dr. Mei had Bai Chen take them with him to attack Sumeru, hoping to obtain more biosocial experiments.

After confirming that these children of the gods were incapable of reproduction, self-division, or spreading through contamination, Bai Chen planned to release all the children of the gods into the rainforest of Sumeru, allowing them to freely prey on various creatures living in the rainforest, as well as the people of Sumeru who roamed within it.

But in reality, these children of the gods have a better appetite than Bai Chen imagined. They can eat not only living things, but also lush plants.

The robot model named Guardian by Bai Chen is the backbone of the Mechanical Legion. It is the final version of the T3 robot, which has abandoned all unnecessary external paint and skin. The humanoid body is covered with the thickest armor plate without affecting its movement, and each one is equipped with an anti-Emp device.

They carried guns, cannons, and other weapons, and held large cages in their hands, releasing the Son of God into the Sumeru Forest.

Some of the clever ones ran off in all directions, chasing after the flesh and blood that drifted through every corner of the rainforest, while the less clever ones preyed on the trees that had not yet been cleared away, devouring the easy-to-find food that didn't have much nutritional value.

Tinari cradled Kolei in his arms, a massive shield of grass elemental energy enveloping them. This made their aura indistinguishable from the tree's, escaping the senses of the Sons of God and preventing them from becoming their first meal.

The mission has failed. No matter how you look at it, they could not possibly close the passage in front of these terrifying mechanical creations. The power of the demons from another world is extremely strong. Even the remnants of the former grass god could not withstand a head-on confrontation when the other side was fully prepared.

However, the ranger did not want to leave. Even if he could not defeat these legions, at least he had come here and could gather intelligence on the enemy at close range. The void was still connected to all the people of Sumeru. As long as he could send back one or two useful pieces of information, it might give the Church's army a better chance of winning.

Unbeknownst to Tinari, the mechanical legion equipped with infrared thermal sensors had already detected two creatures at the treetops whose heat surpassed that of the living beings nearby. However, they were currently operating in minimal-kill mode; as long as Tinari didn't initiate an attack or hinder their movements, he wouldn't be harmed even if he stood in the center of the formation.

On the assembly line of the Hall of Heroes, mechanical soldiers were manufactured in batches and immediately traveled through the passages to the Sumeru Forest. The iron-gray torrent of metal surged toward the major cities of the Sumeru Kingdom, carving a path of earth and fire through the green forest.

Nothing could stop the mechanical legion's advance. The legion was led by engineering vehicles, all equipped with gasoline-powered flamethrowers. The flames burned all the trees along the way, and also incinerated the grass elemental creatures that had not yet had time to hide in the forest.

As for the occasional gilded troop, those scattered strongmen are bandits and mercenary groups from the desert. They are good at robbing passing merchants, but when they see thousands of mechanical legions and the blazing flames burning in front of them, they are terrified and run away in panic. They don't even want to fight them, and they wish they could run faster than their companions.

The legion marched unimpeded toward Sumeru City, while the ranger Tinari followed behind, filled with anxiety. He wondered why he hadn't seen any troops from Sumeru along the way.

The armed organization stationed in Sumeru City is called the Thirteen-Man Group. Although it is also a member of the Gilded Brigade, it adheres to its bottom line and never engages in arson, murder, robbery, or kidnapping. Instead, it maintains legitimate business and is an official organization that assists in the city's defense affairs.

Because the thirteen-member group were mercenaries, each member received excellent training. Their individual combat strength even surpassed that of the Thousand Rock Army of Liyue, although they lacked the Thousand Rock Army's formation, they were still a force to be reckoned with.

Logically, the thirteen-man squad's hidden sentries planted throughout the forest should have already relayed the news back, but until now, not a single squad from the thirteen-man squad has appeared before these mechanical soldiers.

In reality, it wasn't that no one was assigned tasks; rather, it was that no one could be assigned any. Due to the data blockade, the thirteen-member group, which normally numbered over ten thousand, was reduced to a tiny hundred in everyone's minds. Unable to accurately count, and even having largely lost their concept of numbers, the thirteen-member group, temporarily unable to establish a new mathematical system, lost control of their mercenaries. Information couldn't be transmitted, and they couldn't comprehend why such a vast population existed in the world, one that was impossible to count.

As for the higher-level Council of the Church, the situation is even worse. They originally used various technological creations that far exceeded the level of ordinary people to serve them, and thus simplified many of their buildings and facilities. However, Bai Chen's shackles have caused them to lose all methods of using and controlling these technological creations. The great sages living at the top of the Council of the Church now don't even know how to open the doors they locked themselves using special means.

With no leader and completely paralyzed, the mechanical legion easily surrounded Sumeru City.

Upon arriving outside Sumeru City, no bullets or shells were fired into its streets. Instead, construction vehicles brought in thick metal plates, and the guardian robots began building walls at an astonishing speed, intending to imprison all the people inside Sumeru City within them.

Bonsai civilization—this is the future that Bai Chen envisions for Teyvat.
