I became light in American comics

Wait a minute, it's just him and Steppenwolf here, so who's talking in the back?
The madman turned his head, and then his pupils immediately contracted, widening into the same kind of copper bell eyes as Steppenwolf.
He saw Shen You.
That red and silver body, with its steel-like skin, was clearly the same body that had been blasted out of the door and into the singularity by him just seconds before with an astronomical ray.
Not only are they standing here unharmed at this moment, but they are also calmly discussing academic issues with him.
What an absurd development!
What happened to the space where even light couldn't escape? I clearly saw him being sucked in, how the hell did he just turn around and reappear?
and many more.
The madman was startled when he thought of the seemingly casual but actually absurd lines the other party had just uttered.
The idea of stabbing a black hole with a spear with bare hands or shooting a beam of light from your hand is pure nonsense to anyone with a modicum of common sense.
But upon closer reflection, it seems rather absurd that someone could be inside a black hole one second and refreshed behind them the next.
Is it possible that all those seemingly nonsensical statements were actually true?
These seemingly casual words instantly transformed into a display of strength and an extremely terrifying threat in the eyes of a madman.
The most crucial point is that this threat appears exceptionally convincing given the other party's recent actions!
Of course, Shen You was telling the truth, but he was just casually criticizing the unscientific aspects of many of the Ultraman predecessors' achievements.
However, he didn't do anything as incredible as shooting down a black hole.
In fact, Shen You had already seen through the traps set in the room before even entering. What he just rushed in and took the hit from was merely another high-speed afterimage.
"For Darkseid!"
The steppe wolf roared and drew his great axe. He pounced fiercely, bringing it crashing down with tremendous force.
It looks fierce and powerful; an outsider might even mistake it for a valiant lion. But a madman can see that it is not.
He knew Steppenwolf. From that contorted face, from that howling voice, he could hear fear.
Sometimes, a wild animal's roar isn't a show of force or intimidation, but simply an instinctive reaction to extreme fright. Like a stray dog barking wildly on the street, it's really just shouting out a phrase in a very aggressive tone—
—Don't come any closer!
Shen You didn't even turn his head; his arm shot out a punch behind him as if it were a spring.
Bang.
A heavy thud and a transparent shockwave nearly ripped the roof off. The terrifying impact ripped up all the floor tiles, crushing them to dust. Steppenwolf crashed through the wall and flew backward, disappearing from sight.
Shen You casually threw a punch, then withdrew his fist, shook his hand, and glanced at the madman: "Want to try it yourself?"
The madman, who was staring in shock at the exaggerated wreckage and the blasted holes, quickly shook his head upon hearing this.
"No, no, I won't try it." He forced a smile. "Let's continue talking about black holes."
Chapter 260 God’s Death
"Are you a new god?"
Shen You looked the madman up and down.
"Darkseid's commander? The benevolent grandmother's army of Apocalypse's Nemesis? Or a soldier under Great Barda? Wait a minute, is Barda still the captain of Apocalypse? Speaking of which, I don't remember ever seeing you before?"
Upon hearing this, the madman's heart skipped a beat again.
Oh no, I've really run into a big shot.
Before the war, they investigated all the extraordinary individuals on Earth, including Kryptonians, Martians, and Almeriks, to find out exactly which star system and corner of the universe they came from, what their abilities were, and what their backgrounds were.
This one guy was the only exception.
Ultraman.
According to the intelligence gathered by Apocalypse, this person seems to have appeared out of nowhere. His origins are unknown; no race in the known universe can match him. His abilities are also unknown; in fact, the list of his abilities keeps growing longer and longer the investigation goes on, to the point where it's almost too much to investigate further, as if his abilities are constantly being adjusted to meet specific needs.
However, Apocalypse knows nothing about him yet, but judging from his current tone, it seems that Apocalypse is not like that to him at all.
He knew about Darkseid, and he also knew about the Nemesis Force—Apokolips' special forces directly under Darkseid's command. They were a super-elite force, a special power Apokolips wouldn't use for routine invasions of ordinary planets; most people in the universe probably didn't even know about them.
There's also the kind grandmother and Big Bada, those are top-tier new gods on Apokolips, compared to them, even madmen are just lackeys.
This information is undoubtedly something that only beings at a sufficiently high level in the universe could possess.
This guy in front of me is not only strong, but he also knows so much about Apocalypse. This means he can't just be some random superhuman who suddenly mutated from some obscure corner of the world. It also means that he must have some kind of powerful force behind him, a very high-level force.
"Are you from New Genesis Star?!" the madman asked in surprise and doubt.
Neogenesis is a planet in the multiverse known to be the antithesis of Apokolips. The Neogods are essentially divided into these two factions: one representing protection and light, and the other representing darkness and destruction.
The two sides clashed many times throughout countless ages, and their leaders, the Heavenly Father and Darkseid, fought each other countless times, suffering heavy losses on both sides, but never achieving a decisive victory. Finally, they signed a truce, agreeing to never interfere in each other's territory again.
While this Ultraman doesn't seem to be a new god, it's glowing and radiating heat like a sun, which does fit the style of the new Genesis Star.
"Stop guessing, you'll never guess. Now, give the order for your men to retreat."
"Don't even think about it."
The sound came from behind.
Turning his head, he saw Steppenwolf staggering back through the hole where he had been blasted away, still carrying his axe, but looking rather pitiful with his limp.
Shen You glanced over to the side.
To be able to stand up after taking that punch shows the new god's physical abilities are quite impressive. However, he had held back, as killing a new god casually would cause too much of a stir and could easily lead to his own downfall. Besides, the data from the god-slaying process is valuable, and he needs to observe and record it.
"You think you've won? Ha."
Steppenwolf spat, and a mouthful of blood landed on the floor.
"This isn't over yet!" Steppenwolf said coldly. "You are strong, but you can never protect what you want to protect. This is the fate of the Guardians, forever forced to compromise."
"Stop beating around the bush," Shen You interrupted ruthlessly. "I bet you're trying to say you have an antimatter detonator. If things get really bad, you'll activate it and tear a huge hole in the Earth?"
Steppenwolf opened its mouth, then paused, stunned.
"You knew already?"
"Let me put it this way, I know exactly how many cards you have in your hand. Do you really think I would just swagger in head-on without knowing anything?"
What? Do I look a lot like Green Lantern?
Steppenwolf paused for another two seconds.
He then quickly added with a heavy snort: "So what if you know? Once the antimatter device detonates, Earth will become a living hell. Hundreds of millions of humans will die, and you certainly won't allow that."
"Yes, yes, so my original plan was to come in first, find your antimatter device, and defuse this time bomb. But after taking a look around earlier, I realized it might not be necessary. Because someone else did that for me."
As Shen You spoke, he looked toward a spot in the shadows of the palace.
"Stop observing, it's already over. That's enough."
After a moment of silence, a person suddenly emerged from the darkness.
He seemed to blend into the shadows, motionless like a ghost. Stepping out of the shadows, one could see that it was none other than Marchis Malone, the very capable human leader handpicked by Steppenwolf.
"You?" Steppenwolf asked in surprise.
"Your antimatter device has been deactivated. By the way, the central control system inside Deherion has also been infected with a virus. Right now, your army's systems on the front lines should be paralyzed." Machis Malone said coldly, his tone and voice completely different from his previous sycophantic manner, now deep and icy.
"You are...you are..." Steppenwolf vaguely realized something.
Malone ripped off his shirt and his face—it turned out to be a digital mask. Data streams rolled across his face after the mask was ripped off, creating a distorted image before revealing a cold, bat-like face.
"Sorry, I'm Batman."
The Steppenwolf was struck dumb.
Batman?
The clown who was rated D- by him for not having superpowers during the previous evaluation of Earth's superheroes?
Steppenwolf glanced at this person's file and flipped through it without a second thought, completely disregarding it. Yet, after all this time, this human subordinate, the only one he considered efficient and capable, and the leader he had personally chosen—the one who was truly competent—had become his trusted ally.
It's Batman?!
Shen You guessed that the master must have been holding back these past few days, and finally being able to jump out and say the long-awaited "I am Batman" must make him feel pretty good.
Steppenwolf gritted his teeth, his eyes burning with rage as he glared at Batman.
With a roar, he raised his battle axe to strike. But he only saw a blur before his eyes as a terrifying punch struck his jaw, and then he seemed to feel nothing at all. It was as if that punch had paralyzed his entire nervous system, and his body shot through the ceiling and into the air as if he were riding on clouds, feeling as if he were about to stand shoulder to shoulder with the sun.
The next moment, Shen You transformed into a streak of lightning and caught up with the Steppenwolf, flying together to the outside of the atmosphere. A spinning light wheel appeared in his raised hand.
Eight points of light!
With a swift, razor-sharp cut, the wasteland wolf stared wide-eyed as it was cleaved in two, starting from the top of its head and ending at its groin.
A powerful primordial wave erupted above the atmosphere, creating terrifying shockwaves.
The new god, the Wasteland Wolf, has fallen.
Chapter 261 That Lord
"So, you've actually been in Steppenwolf's hands all this time?"
Shen You looked at Batman, who had suddenly appeared beside him, and asked.
"The International Gang's leads are pointing to De Horien, but there are a lot of oddities in this place," Batman said coldly. "De Horien is usually almost completely isolated from the outside world, so it would be even more difficult to get intelligence from the outside if something were to happen."
"So you decided to go deep behind enemy lines to find out the situation from within." Shen You nodded knowingly.
That's definitely a Batman-esque move.
A scene familiar to comic book fans: the Seven Justice League giants battling it out. But upon closer inspection, there are only six of them. Only true fans know that Batman is actually cutting down the backline.
With such a formidable lineup, the Justice League has very few conventional villains who can truly defeat them head-on. If they were to analyze the main reasons why they always get wiped out at the start of major events, the first reason would definitely be that everyone is thinking, "Look at this lineup, how can we lose with six gods combined?" So everyone is thinking that if they can just lie down, someone else will carry them, and often, after a series of bronze-level plays, they inexplicably lose the team fight.
As for the second reason, it's definitely due to the fact that we were outmaneuvered by the enemy. To be honest, even with the Justice League's basic setup (and no amount of AFK farming), it's not easy for the average person to outmaneuver them. The villains who succeed usually have some special and unpredictable methods, and when everyone is AFK, it's easy to get killed on the first encounter.
That's where the importance of Old Silver Coins becomes apparent. Batman often carries the team partly because of the "favored son" aura he receives, and partly because Old Silver Coins is always flanking, letting his teammates absorb all the damage. While his teammates take the hits and fire in front, he's backline assassinating, so it's not entirely unreasonable that he can lead the team to a comeback.
"But speaking of which, you've been quite well hidden, not even telling Alfred?" Shen You asked.
