What a novel art style this is!
"And then?" the madman asked.
"Then that giant, that giant, just like that, 'beep,' oh no, it sounded like a 'pop.'"
Malone tried to form a cross with his hands, but seemed unsure where to place his palms on his arms, fiddling with them up and down.
"Get to the point!" Steppenwolf, having reached his limit, was almost about to raise his axe.
“Oh, and then our Parademons exploded.” Malone shrank back. “Like fireworks.”
Steppenwolf picked up his axe and breathed heavily.
Five minutes ago, he felt he had everything under control and that the war was already in his grasp.
Five minutes later, he had no cards left.
I'm so angry, I really want to chop someone up.
Thinking of this, he glanced menacingly at the madman behind him.
That mouth, as if it had been blessed.
"Even the anti-life experimental subject was wiped out. It seems we really underestimated this planet," the madman muttered. "But it's alright. We still have our final, ultimate weapon."
The Steppenwolf roared, "Shut the hell up!"
Chapter 258 Head-on invasion
Shen You probably has ten thousand ways to storm into Deherrean's palace and strike at the heart of the enemy.
From the sky and from the ground, through walls and underwater, in a grand display or silently, all kinds of things exist.
However, after careful consideration, he chose the most arrogant and Green Lantern-style tactic.
Charge in head-on.
Just like the lyrics in Master Gao's opening theme song say, "Sometimes it's fists, sometimes it's flowers."
While we advocate peace, it's undeniable that sometimes force is more effective than words. If you want someone to communicate with you calmly, showing your fist first can always be very helpful.
Fear can accelerate growth.
And that's exactly what Shen You is doing now.
"Enemy attack! Enemy attack!"
Alarms sounded in Dehereen's capital, and all units were mobilized. The palace's defense system was immediately activated.
"Is the radar showing the number and location of the enemy?" a general immediately ordered.
"No, no need for radar, sir." The operator stammered, pointing out the window. "There's only one enemy. You can see its location yourself."
The general looked in the direction he was pointing, his mouth gaping open uncontrollably, his facial muscles gradually losing control in extreme shock.
That soldier was right.
There's no need for radar or detection reports; just use the naked eye method, because you simply can't miss it.
There is only one enemy, yet it creates the feeling that "our entire city is surrounded by him".
A towering giant, easily at least a hundred meters tall. Red stripes seemed to pulsate with life, flowing across his silver, metallic skin. He approached step by step, as if reaching for the heavens, each step like a heavy warhammer striking the ground, each tremor like the beating of the nation's heart.
"Sir?" the operator asked, his voice trembling.
The general finally came to his senses. He looked away, no longer daring to gaze out the window. That enormous body seemed to exude some kind of life-force oppression; just looking at it was enough to shock one's heart, making even breathing extremely difficult.
"Attack! Attack!" the general roared. "All units, open fire! Attack!"
The firepower from Apocalypse Technology was their last resort. They had already witnessed what these weapons could do; almost any material on Earth was as fragile as butter in the face of these extraterrestrial weapons, and so far they had never seen anything that they could not evaporate.
But now I've seen it.
The giant, bathed in a curtain of light and heat, allowed various powerful impacts and explosions to wash over his red and silver body. The ground beneath his feet kept exploding, flames and black smoke tens of meters high shooting into the sky. Energy and flames powerful enough to melt an aircraft carrier licked his body, but it was as if they were photons rejuvenating his skin; he seemed to feel nothing at all.
Even the terrifying momentum carried by tons of ammunition was like a stone sinking into the sea when it hit that body. No matter how much firepower was used, it was like pouring into a bottomless pit, and there was no feedback on the hit.
The general was stunned.
What kind of monster is this?
Even if Superman were to take such a saturation of firepower, he would surely fall several times and smash through several buildings, right?
How could he act like he felt nothing at all?
Under the watchful eyes of countless trembling figures, Ultraman slowly raised his right hand. A glint seemed to flash in his round eyes, and the rhythm of light traveled along the stripes on his body, converging in his raised hand.
Among the Ultraman predecessors, there was Showa Era's King Ace and Heisei Era's King Tiga. The battles of the King-type Ultraman are roughly like this.
Monster: You cheated! This trick was never shown in the TV series before. Did you make it up on the spot?
Tiga: Yeah, I just wrote it. Is there a problem?
Monster: No, no, just asking. Have you eaten?
"."
For their human hosts, it's probably like, "If you can't perform the skill even with any pose you want, I'll admit defeat."
While it's a joke, there's some truth to it. Ultraman's skills don't necessarily have to be specific moves learned through training. For warriors with sufficient skill and depth of understanding, skills can indeed be improvised. It's simply a matter of deriving variations from the broad categories of knowledge already learned, such as damage techniques, control techniques, and purification techniques.
This is somewhat similar to a martial arts master creating their own techniques when they reach a certain level of mastery. When Shen You first transmigrated, he didn't have this ability yet. He could only mechanically follow the textbooks he learned in the Land of Light to practice his skills. Creating his own moves would be too much of a challenge for a graduate.
However, after so much experience and working overtime every day, especially in the study of the emotional spectrum, which he is good at "the concrete and morphological changes of light", he has gained a lot of insights and his use of light is more flexible and free.
For example, right now, he just casually rubbed it together.
All the people saw was the giant raise his hand and fling a ball of light straight into the sky, blasting through the atmosphere and leaving a huge hole in the sky before disappearing without a trace.
But two seconds later, it dropped back down.
It transformed into a vast expanse of dense rain of light!
The general gaped, stunned by the rain of light that filled the entire screen.
It looks like an entire interstellar fleet is bombarding ground positions!
The giant simply tossed it around casually.
"Take cover! Take cover!" the general shouted.
The barrage of firepower overwhelmed the position. The Apocalypse equipment, which had previously been invincible against human weapons, suddenly lost its power in the face of the devastating rain of light. In a single move, the defensive line of the position was torn apart, and the continuous explosions ignited a continuous chain of flames, spreading like wildfire.
Shen You casually tossed another light wheel. The spinning light wheel split into eight in mid-air, like eight spirits of light leaping across the battlefield.
The giant strolled into the position as if taking a leisurely walk. Eight ornate streaks of light crisscrossed and weaved around him, constantly slicing mechs and energy cannons in two. A rain of light continuously detonated around him, creating a series of explosions.
Shen You walked in without stopping, leaving behind a scene of chaos and mess.
Inside the palace, Steppenwolf's expression grew increasingly grim as he watched the scene outside.
"I just calculated our chances of winning against him here based on the strength and performance of the target 'Ultraman' outside."
The madman popped up again, holding a complicated device that looked like a calculator and pressing buttons for a long time.
Then he raised his head and looked at Steppenwolf seriously: "According to my meticulous calculations, our chances of winning, rounded up, are probably almost zero."
Steppenwolf's cold face twitched slightly, and his hand on his battle axe seemed to be about to strike.
But then the madman's tone shifted again.
"But! I anticipated this situation. I prepared countermeasures for Martians and Kryptonians. Did you think I would be completely unprepared for this Ultraman on Earth?"
The madman grinned, revealing a ferocious smile.
There are always some things in the world that even light cannot escape.
Chapter 259 Why don't you give it a try?
Shen You strode through the capital and the palace, looking as if he were taking a leisurely stroll after a meal, seemingly without even bothering to do anything. He reached the innermost palace, a flash of light emanated from his body, his figure shrank, and he landed inside.
There were also guards stationed inside, all of whom were elites armed with various Apocalyptic equipment. Most of them carried energy weapons, some were equipped with strength enhancements and others with acceleration equipment, and many of them were piloting heavy exoskeletons, fully armed and waiting for the enemy to arrive in heavy armor three or four meters high.
However, no one could see the enemy's shadow clearly.
Even the door they had been focusing their efforts on locking onto didn't open at all. The afterimage passed right through the door panel, like a phantom without substance. A ghostly shadow flashed out, sweeping through the hall like a red and silver storm.
No one saw how they were defeated. But when they came to their senses, the entire team's defenses had crumbled. Elite warriors were thrown about, their heavy mechs reduced to rubble and metal debris. It was as if a typhoon had swept through without a trace, leaving only devastation in the blink of an eye.
Finally, there is the throne, where Steppenwolf resides.
But the moment he stepped through the door, his afterimage abruptly stopped. As if he had appeared out of thin air at the entrance of the hall, lightning, seemingly from nowhere, surrounded Shen You from all directions, binding him to the spot like some kind of chain.
His body was rigidly fixed in place, yet it still maintained a high-speed, double-image motion and an swirling current. It looked somewhat strange, like a fast-moving figure frozen in the moment of a camera lens.
"Ha, I told you this would work!"
The new god, known as the Madman, was overjoyed and laughed heartily.
"This is a high-speed bear trap specially designed for you speed enthusiasts. It can only be activated by movement at a sufficiently high speed. It's a high-speed trap that I prepared especially for you."
"Enough with the nonsense, you lunatic!" Steppenwolf roared. "Fire!"
The two new gods were currently holding a massive, cannon-like weapon together. When the device was activated, the space around them seemed to be distorted. A small, black sphere was ejected in a spiral from the dark muzzle, striking the immobilized Shen You head-on in the chest.
The crimson and silver body was instantly blasted backward, crashing through walls and buildings with a series of booming sounds before exploding in mid-air, creating a black hole. The boundless gravitational force pulled him in, then swirled and shrank into a single point in space, vanishing without a trace.
"It's a success!" the madman laughed. "I told you, my designs have never gone wrong. Astronomical rays open up a singularity, a space from which even light cannot escape. No matter how strong or fast it is, it can never escape!"
Before Steppenwolf could respond, Shen You's voice rang out from behind the madman.
"Wow, that sounds pretty impressive. But the energy frequency of that last shot didn't seem very stable; it looked like it was at risk of going out of control. And that was probably the limit, right? The power module was about to burn out. Looks like it's a one-time use weapon? That's not good."
The madman hadn't realized something was wrong, but upon hearing about academic or technical issues, he instinctively chimed in: "Oh, it's because of the time constraints. You know that idiot Steppenwolf asked me to research a way to counter that Ultraman in the next few days, but that freak has too many and too varied abilities, with no obvious weaknesses. I have limited resources and time."
"Idiot leader, huh? I get it. It seems like all leaders in the universe are the same." Shen You nodded in deep agreement, expressing sympathy. "But to be honest, the black hole idea is a bit unoriginal. I don't think it'll work."
I had a friend who encountered a black hole with a name: Bashomon. He ended up blowing it up with a spear.
I have a friend who encountered a black hole, it even had a name, Sophia. In the end, he blasted the black hole apart with a beam of light.”
"Nonsense, how could that be?"
Seeing the wide-eyed, shocked expression on the face of the Steppenwolf beside him, the madman, engrossed in academic research, finally came to his senses.
