"They said we're looking for an alien."

Chapter 229 Special Task Force

Although the henchman being questioned knew nothing about the more detailed aspects, the information he provided was enough for Shen You to understand.

Why are the International Gang—or perhaps the Apokolips who are behind them—searching all over the world for super prisons? Who exactly is the alien they are looking for?

The answer is the logo that these underlings who carried out the mission received.

A round badge with a green background and a red "X".

That was the identity badge once used by Martian Manhunter, one of the founding members of the Justice League, also known as "Uncle Jon".

So these people are looking for Uncle Jon?

That's not impossible. According to the established storyline, Jon Snow should have arrived on Earth long before Superman debuted. He is a survivor of the destruction of Martian civilization. According to many versions of the story, he was immediately taken into custody by the military upon arriving on Earth and imprisoned in a military facility.

If they knew Jon Snow was in human hands, it's possible that Apokolips would be interested in him. In the early days, before the writers retconned and Martians became rampant, Jon Snow was supposed to be the last Martian. And Martians' talents are in no way inferior to Kryptonians'; invulnerability, super strength, and super speed are just the basics. Jon Snow also possesses abilities including, but not limited to, telepathy, heat vision, phase transitions allowing him to pass through walls, arbitrary scaling and shrinking of his body, and the ability to transform into any appearance.

If we're comparing who among the elders has the broadest and most diverse range of abilities, then Martian Manhunter is definitely a strong contender. Furthermore, he has long served as the chairman of the Justice League.

Jon Snow was captured by humans as soon as he landed, which already made a bad first impression. If the enemy gets there first, especially Apokolips, who are best at brainwashing and corrupting people, then this founding chairman of the Justice League might actually be turned to the other side.

However, finding things on Earth is much easier for Shen You than for a bunch of Metropolitan criminals.

Back in the lab, Shen You immediately had Pal access the Sky Eye's database—even if it wasn't Sky Eye's fault, they probably had records of the extraterrestrial imprisonment and handling in their database.

Then enter the keyword: Mars.

Sure enough, in a very deep area hidden within the Tianyan headquarters, he found a top-secret project codenamed "Mars Creatures".

"Locate the location."

“It’s already being done, sir.”

Pal was extremely efficient and quickly marked a building on the map.

“Belreve Prison, Louisiana, sir.”

Belreve Prison

Shen You could not possibly forget this place.

The Sky Eye Society's official prison, one of the world's most heavily guarded superbases. More importantly, it is the resource repository for Waller's infamous "Suicide Squad" program.

The most vicious and incorrigible super criminals are gathered together and forced to do dirty, unsavory jobs.

It's indeed possible that Jon Snow, being an alien, is imprisoned in a prison controlled by SkyEye. Furthermore, the security at Belreve is indeed extremely high, especially considering the extensive countermeasures against superhumans. There's radar targeting Superman, sensors for speedsters, facilities constructed entirely with anti-X-ray vision materials, force field shielding, and phase-change barriers.

In short, it is almost flawless.

But it doesn’t matter.

Shen You swaggered in through the main gate.

After all, he was Mike Williams, a senior agent of the Sky Eye Society, with high-level authority.

Don't be fooled by how formidable these countermeasures seem; in American comics, prisons are built solely for the purpose of being blown up one day.

The most famous examples are Marvel's four major prisons and DC's Arkham Impel Down. Despite their fantastical claims, their core philosophy remains the same: "Isn't it a pleasure to have friends coming from afar?" Everyone, regardless of background, is welcome to feel at home.

When readers see a major prison riot in a comic, they probably don't think, "Wow, such a powerful prison can be entered and exited at will." Instead, they think, "Wow, this lousy place has been entered and exited again."

There were no obstacles in his entry; some of the jailers along the way even saluted him.

The ground floor was filled with second- or third-tier super-powered criminals, few of whom Shen You recognized. The floor below began to see more familiar faces; there weren't any heavyweights, but at least a few were influential figures.

For example, Deadshot, whom he and the Flash captured in Midtown, is imprisoned here.

As I came down, I happened to hear several prisoners in the next cell pointing and mockingly at the dead gun.

"The infamous Death Shooter, you would never guess how he ended up here, hahaha, that's hilarious."

"I heard this guy sneaked out of Gotham to Midtown, and got caught by Batman when he landed. He asked how they found the clues, and guess what?"

Batman said he forgot to delete the crime plan after he finished the job; the crime route, escape route, and even the vehicle itinerary were all written down clearly. Batman followed his notes like an auto-pathfinding game and found him at the dock. He laughed so hard he almost died.

A group of burly men laughed so hard they were doubled over, while Lawton lay on his prison bed, his face ashen and utterly bewildered, seemingly still unable to comprehend how he could have made such a stupid mistake.

Of course, Shen You knew this. Because it wasn't true at all; Lawton's memories had been altered. In reality, he had been captured by the Flash, but because he knew the Flash's true identity, the latter bribed "the world's greatest wizard" with a pot to brainwash him.

And so this became the version of the story where Lawton was arrested. It's estimated that the world's greatest archer will never be able to shake off this stain for the rest of his life.

Just a few steps further on, there's the even more famous Harley Quinn.

Originally a psychiatrist and psychology PhD at Arkham Asylum, she was responsible for treating the Joker, whom Batman had briefly captured a month prior. After only a few days, she too went insane. She then became a die-hard Joker fan, releasing him from the asylum after only a week to go out and join him in his madness.

Now the Joker has run away, and she's been captured. She only stayed in Arkham for a few days before Waller secretly arranged for her transfer to Belreve.

Hey, handsome!

Harley's pretty face was pressed against the prison bars, and she gave Shen You a sweet smile like a girl next door.

"Want to play together?"

Shen You ignored him and walked straight past.

"How indifferent~ Do you want to know where I got these scars?"

"Not interested? That's really boring. How about this one?"

"I'll tell you a secret, I actually have a scar between my legs. Do you want to know how I got it?"

"Hahaha"

Shen You disappeared at the end of the corridor.

Harley's laughter stopped abruptly, and she pouted.

"Really boring."

Captain Boomerang from the next cell peeked out: "Can I take a look at that scar you just mentioned?"

"You're too ugly, you're no fun."

Boomerang Captain: "."

Shen You walked past without saying a word, but he took in everything that happened.

Deadshot, Harley Quinn, and Captain Boomerang. A strangely familiar lineup.

These are all people who were recently transferred from super prisons in various cities.

This has given him new intelligence.

Because these are among the most well-known members of the Suicide Squad.

It looks like the Suicide Squad plan is about to be launched?

If this is true, it means Waller has something important to do. It could be dangerous, very difficult, and something he doesn't want anyone to know.

In short, it's not a good omen.

Chapter 230 Raid on Belreve

The Suicide Squad, also known as Task Force X, is a prime example of Waller's disruptive and ruthless decisions. She implanted nanotech bombs in the necks of a group of the most dangerous criminals, forcing them to obey her commands. Despite layers of safeguards, it didn't change the fact that she was playing with fire.

The fact that the Suicide Squad's decision in the DCEU movie happened right after Superman's death and before the Justice League was formed makes it all the more intriguing.

Waller: Everyone has seen how powerful Superman is; we need someone to subdue him.

High-ranking official: Uh, but Superman is already dead.

Waller: I don't care, we just need someone who can defeat Superman.

Senior Management: Okay. Then maybe we should contact Batman? You know, he beat Superman, and he's one of us, not an alien or a superhuman! Why don't we ask him?

Waller: No, I need to find a group of bad guys who might lose control at any time and could turn on me, otherwise this plan is pointless.

High-level executives: "."

However, Waller has been messing around for a while now, and there have been even stranger things she's done. But if it weren't an emergency, she probably wouldn't be in such a hurry to gather this team. The mission this team is on might be worth paying attention to.

Shen You figured this trip would be a good opportunity to leave an opening, so he could have Pal keep an eye on the task force. Political disputes or crimes wouldn't be of interest to him, but considering that Sky Eye and the task force were constantly exposed to almost as many devastating threats as the Justice League, it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on things.

Of course, this matter can be put aside for now; he has other things to attend to on this trip.

The two underground levels house criminals with relatively low threat levels; Deadshot is among the most dangerous. Below that lies the high-risk area, populated by even more dangerous inmates, whose detailed information is only accessible through an internal server.

The prison had a phase transition interference barrier on the outside, but not inside. Shen You passed through several walls, finally penetrating a thick glass door, and arrived inside the server room.

He easily passed through the wall, casually shook off the electricity on his body, and was about to step forward when he suddenly heard a loud banging on the door behind him. He turned around and saw that the sensor door had slid open automatically behind him.

Turns out it was an automatic door, and it wasn't locked at all.

I tried to pass through the wall, but it was all for nothing.

“It seems the server room has sensor-activated automatic access, sir,” Pal said.

Shen You hesitated for a moment, then ignored the awkward atmosphere and pretended nothing had happened.

"Can we not mention this again?"

"No problem, sir."

The internal system has strict security protocols and access restrictions, but this simple method can easily bypass them. Shen You quickly gained access, forged Director Waller's access privileges, and obtained internal prison information.

The creature codenamed "Mars Creature" was indeed located in this prison. Area C-703, encased in a complete phase-change barrier and mental shielding field, is the deepest secret hidden within Belreve Prison.

"found it."

Shen You nodded slightly.

"The wall infill material is not transparent. We are calling up building structure information to calculate the location of area C-703," Pal said.

Shen You got up to leave when he suddenly heard a whooshing sound behind him. It was the sound of an automatic door sliding open along its track.

Turning my head, I saw a programmer wearing a Sky Eye uniform, glasses, and a slightly overweight figure standing at the door. I was a little surprised to see him.

"Unauthorized personnel are not allowed in the underground area. You..."

He paused for a moment, his pupils contracted, his eyes widened, and he revealed a look of surprise.

"Are you... Agent Williams?"
