"It was given to me by the international gang," Copport obediently confessed.

“I mean the source. You should know that,” he said somberly.

“I really don’t know,” Cobbett said with a bitter face. “I’ll just be honest. You know, my Iceberg Casino hasn’t been open for very long, and I’m really not familiar with the Metropolitan International Gang. I’ve never even met their top executives directly; we only have some business dealings on the ground up.”

They approached me first, which was a bit unexpected. They brought out these weapons and gave us a demonstration. To be honest, it was quite impressive; they were all high-end items you would never have heard of.

Honestly, if I equipped all my men with the top-of-the-line gear, I think I could take over the Pentagon.

But I knew there was no such thing as a free lunch; they must have something to gain by showing us these things. Sure enough, they said they could sell us the weapons at a low price, but on one condition: they had to be used against us.

"Why?" Shen You asked.

"God knows. They say you ruined their plans, as if you stumbled upon some clues you shouldn't have. Simply put, you know too much."

But as you know, our previous clashes... didn't go very smoothly. Those guys from the international gang said they were disappointed with the capabilities of our Gotham gangs and that they had to take matters into their own hands. After that, we lost contact, and I don't know anything else.

"that's it?"

“Really! I don’t know anything!” Cobblestone shouted.

Shen You continued to stare at him expressionlessly.

"I swear, that's really all!"

Shen You continued to look at him.

"I swear on my mother's grave!"

Shen You was still looking at him.

"What exactly do you want? I've told you I don't know anything!"

Shen You continued to look at him.

Copeport was covered in sweat and ultimately succumbed to defeat.

"Okay, okay, I remember now!"

Shen You nodded in satisfaction: "Speak."

He began to understand why Batman always liked to dress up as a bat in the middle of the night; that face really worked.

“During our transaction cooperation, I also planted some informants to inquire. They didn’t know much, but I knew that the international gang had a follow-up operation, which they called a ‘critical mission,’ which was an instruction from a big boss.”

They referred to him as 'that person,' presumably the one who gave them the weapons.

"What's the content?"

"I don't know the specifics, but they're coming to Gotham soon. I heard they're looking for someone, and it seems to involve... a prison or something. They were going to contact me to make arrangements, but we broke up and lost contact. That's all I know, really!"

In the midst of their conversation, Pal's voice suddenly rang out.

“Sir, excuse me for interrupting.” Pal connected via the internal wiring.

"What is it? I'm busy."

“I know, sir, but this is something you’d like to know. Based on the new data provided by the Guardians, and the adjusted scans of the Deep Space Radar as you requested, we have the results.”

"Pal said."

"Radar detected an abnormal energy response, suspected to match the name Parallax Monster."

Chapter 219 What do you want to do?

"You got lucky last time, girl. I won't be careless this time."

Maxima narrowed her eyes and said with a serious expression.

“Bring it on, Auntie,” Kara said confidently. “You’re welcome to try anytime. But no matter how many times you try, the result will be the same.”

“Ha, quite the boast.” Maxima brushed the red hair from his forehead behind him. “I have fought my way through the galaxy and have never been defeated. I will be no exception on this tiny Earth.”

“There has to be a first time for everything,” Kara said seriously. “Besides, you’ve already lost to Shen You. It’s an exaggeration to say you’re undefeated.”

"What do you know, little girl? Once I take him back to Almeric, we'll be married and we'll be one family. Losing to His Majesty is just a bit of fun, it doesn't count."

Kara stuck out her tongue: "You wish!"

"You'd better beat me first before you start talking big. Take this!"

"Who's afraid of who? Come on."

The two men's expressions hardened, and they launched their attack swiftly, almost becoming afterimages.

He started rubbing the handle.

It's still that same fighting game. Kara is controlling Superman, while Maxima is playing Batman. The two characters are currently locked in a fierce and heated battle.

With the word "KO" appearing, Maxima's health bar was reduced to zero again. Princess Kara's face turned bright red, while Kara gave her a "Yeah" sign.

“I told you, there are techniques involved,” Kara comforted her. “It’s normal for someone like you who relies more on muscle than brains to lose to us highly intelligent people. There’s no need to take it to heart.”

As a result of this attempt to comfort her, the princess seemed even angrier. She let out a loud "Ahhh!" and slammed the controller away.

Snapped.

The handle shattered into pieces, leaving a huge, spiderweb-like crater in the wall.

The moment Maxima released the controller, he realized something was wrong and his expression froze.

Oh no, are they going to make me pay for it?

Even more awkwardly, when she turned her head, she immediately saw the homeowner, Shen You, who had silently appeared in the doorway at some unknown time. Though he didn't say a word, his smiling expression seemed to ask, "Cash or credit card?"

Maxima smiled awkwardly but politely and said, "All my valuables were on the spaceship I came from, which Sasu flew back. I don't have anything of value on me to compensate for this, so it seems I'll have to offer myself."

She was about to pounce, but before she could finish speaking, she was stopped by a piece of white paper that Shen You was holding. She looked at it intently, confirming it was just an ordinary piece of white paper, and asked, "What's this?"

"An IOU." Shen You handed over a pen. "I'll write you an IOU, and also to cover your food and lodging expenses for the past few days."

"Oh."

Maxima awkwardly picked up her pen and began signing.

"By the way, can we go shopping later?" Kara asked, peeking out.

"Go ahead, why are you telling me this?" Shen You said.

“I’d like to go with Auntie,” Kara said with an embarrassed smile. “But she’s still a hostage, after all. I think it’s better to ask first.”

Maxima's forehead creased with a frown, and she emphasized, word by word, "It's my older sister."

"Okay, Auntie."

Maxima: "."

It's unbelievable that a hostage can still go shopping.

"Okay, but be back before 6 p.m. to negotiate with Almeric's representative. You haven't forgotten our arrangements, have you?"

“I remember, I remember.” Maxima nodded repeatedly, patting his chest. “My acting is superb, Your Majesty, please rest assured.”

"I'm not yours, uh, never mind, just don't be late."

That night, Mars.

Shen You transformed into his life-size form and landed at the designated coordinates on the surface of Mars, awaiting the arrival of the negotiating representatives.

The landscape is desolate and rugged, covered with reddish-brown rocks and dust. Looking into the distance, the mountain ranges stretch endlessly, like a magnificent painting.

Thin, cold air, endless solitude. Sand dunes and canyons, sculpted by the power of time, have created a unique landscape, desolate yet possessing a distinctive charm.

In the DC Universe, humanity is not the only civilization to have established itself in the solar system. Intelligent life and a highly advanced civilization once existed on Mars—at least at one time.

One of the founding members of the Justice League is a Martian. In fact, he's described as the last Martian in the lore. Ron Jungs, codenamed Martian Manhunter, is one of the Justice League's most notorious overpowered characters.

However, as is well known, American comics have a unique characteristic: any character's design is gradually perfected through the collaborative creation and adaptation of countless writers over a long development process. Different writers often have conflicting ideas, so backstabbing has become a regular occurrence behind the scenes of American comic book publications.

The concept of "the last Martian" is similar to Superman's "the last son of Krypton." This early concept was flushed down the toilet along with the betrayed former writers. Later, various good and bad Martians emerged in droves, making them far from extinct.

Later settings suggested that a civilization still existed on Mars, but Shen You didn't find any when he simply scanned the planet.

Not long after, the representatives from Almeric arrived.

The enormous warship, with its shimmering, iridescent surface, resembled a moving mountain. The Almerick alloy, gleaming with metallic luster, flowed with textured patterns, its countless intricate components tightly joined together like the veins of a planet.

A beam of light was projected from the warship onto the ground, and several figures emerged from it.

Leading the group was Norland, the Almeric representative who had been sent to negotiate.

His gaze quickly fell on Shen You.

The description perfectly matched the image brought back by the princess's maid, leading Norland to immediately recognize that this was the Light Thug who had kidnapped their princess.

According to the maid, this was the guy who single-handedly took down Brainiac's spaceship.

Norland swallowed hard, trying to walk forward with his head held high, attempting to hide his unease.

"So it was you who kidnapped our princess?" he asked in a cold voice.

"So you're the ones colluding with interstellar terrorists to plot against Earth?" Shen You retorted.

Norland snorted heavily and said, "I don't know what it's like on your Earth. But in Almeric, the least valuable thing is a princess."

"There are 188 women like her in our royal family; losing one isn't a big deal."

"Really? Then you certainly won't mind us doing this."

Shen You waved his hand, and the image appeared out of thin air.

The image was transmitted remotely. In the video, Maxima was tied to a chair, and someone next to her was holding a thick stick with terrifying arcs of electricity crackling at the tip.

Her Highness, her face contorted with genuine terror, involuntarily shrank back as she looked at the enormous stun gun: "No...don't do it again, stop!"

Upon seeing this scene, especially the enormous stun gun, Norland's expression changed drastically.

"What...what do you want to do!?"

Chapter 220 Wrong turn, farewell

“Uh.”

Across hundreds of millions of miles, in the images transmitted from Earth, Princess Maxima of Almeric looked pained and was sweating profusely.
