I became light in American comics

"Thank you for your previous visits. I thought I should return the favor and give you a gift. Here it is."
"If you ask me, stop talking nonsense, Cobbert."
The speaker was the man with a scarf wrapped around his face and wearing swirling glasses. A master hypnotist; his ability, as the name suggests, is a mental ability, capable of releasing special electromagnetic waves to create a hypnotic effect.
Copeland gave him a cold, dismissive look.
"I told you not to interrupt me when I'm speaking, you tone-deaf idiot." He muttered, but didn't say anything more, pointing his umbrella. "Now, take him down! I want to see which idiot is behind that ugly bat face!"
The poison gas man could no longer contain himself and made the first move. He thrust out both palms, and dark red poison gas surged forth, rushing towards Shen You.
The Gas Man is also a second-tier villain. His ability is quite simple: to release poison gas that can cause various effects to those who inhale it, including hallucinations, paralysis, incapacitation, and instant death.
If he were the real Batman, perhaps he'd be considering pulling out his respirator and putting it on right now. But for now...
Shen You faced the direction of the poisonous gas and blew a breath.
With just a gentle gust of wind, the air pressure in the area instantly changed. A gale, carrying a red wave of gas, swept the poison man away from his grasp, engulfing him in a terrifying storm!
He himself was immune to the poison gas, but the poor hypnotist standing next to him and his gang of henchmen were in dire straits. The group rolled their eyes, convulsed, and collapsed to the ground.
This caught everyone off guard and they were all taken aback.
Blow it all back in one go? Is that even possible?
Did Batman know this trick before?
The malnourished man in the bodysuit was the next to move. His expression hardened, and he sprang into action, as if time and space around him had frozen. He sprinted forward, his frail body seemingly breaking through a thick wall of time.
Speed Demon, whose real name is Jerry McGee, was once a biological geneticist. His origin story is the classic American comic book formula of a research project, insufficient funding, and self-experimentation—a series of old-fashioned events that gave him superpowers, but also drove him insane, turning him into the supervillain Speed Demon.
He used large amounts of steroids and implanted electrodes in his body to gain super speed. His backstory suggests he was originally intended to be a villain active in Central City, but he's moved and is considering a different path.
The poor PhD student spent his entire life researching and achieving speeds almost as fast as a bullet, feeling he had broken through human limits and created a miracle. But when he stepped out of the lab, he discovered that a guy in a red shirt had appeared on the streets outside Midtown, even leisurely going to the next city to buy breakfast the instant the bullet left the barrel, and by the time he returned, the bullet might still be floating in the sky.
Disheartened, Speed Demon felt that Midtown was a hell for speedster villains, a place no human being could live in. So he left for Gotham.
He believed that he could make a name for himself and gain a foothold here.
Speed Demon circled halfway around, curving his way to Batman's flank. In the slowed-down timeline, Batman seemed completely unaware.
Speed Demon grinned, revealing a cruel smile.
If I can't handle The Flash, I can handle you, right?
After today, he will be known as the criminal who killed the legendary Batman!
Speed Demon swore that until the moment his fist struck the other man's face, he was certain that Batman was standing right in front of him, motionless.
But the punch missed.
He lunged forward, only to find it was just an afterimage.
The afterimage at high speed means the original body is no longer in the same place.
But when?
Speed Demon was taken aback.
The next moment, he felt a hand tap his shoulder.
Turning his head, he saw that the black gloves had filled his entire field of vision, and a finger snapped out.
A flick of the finger struck right on the forehead.
Speed Demon tilted his head back and fell backward.
His accelerated brain could do nothing, had no time to react in any way to dodge or retaliate, and only had time to have a final thought before unconsciousness struck.
Damn it, which idiot confidently told him that Batman doesn't have superpowers?
Speed Demon gradually began to question the meaning of life.
Everyone else was stunned.
The whole thing happened in the blink of an eye. Batman seemed to blow away the gas man's poison gas with a single breath, instantly killing the hypnotist. Then, everyone saw a blur of movement, so fast that their visual nerves couldn't process it. In that instant, the speed demon was suddenly sent flying, and Batman's figure also abruptly teleported several steps to the side.
Even Cobblestone, who should have been the most familiar with Batman, stared wide-eyed, a huge question mark seemingly appearing on his small head.
How can this be?
Is this really Batman?
No, wait.
That being said, it seems there's absolutely no evidence to suggest that Batman doesn't have superpowers.
So far, Cobblestone's few encounters with Batman have all involved the latter appearing out of nowhere, grabbing him for questioning, and then vanishing without a trace. Each time, Cobblestone has dealt with his most capable henchmen as easily as beating up kindergarteners.
Perhaps he has always had this ability, but he didn't use it before because there was no need to.
That makes sense, though. It seems to explain why he always manages to appear like a ghost, no matter how many security vulnerabilities I try to plug or how much security I strengthen.
It’s connected, it’s all connected!
The penguin trembled all over, feeling a cold sweat pour down his back.
Damn it, I was fooled by that treacherous bat!
Chapter 218 Opening a VIP Channel
"Fire! Open fire!"
The one who shouted was the leader of the group of henchmen in the room, and he pulled the trigger as soon as he spoke.
"Take him!"
Batman already exudes an inexplicable aura of authority among Gotham's underworld underlings, and a kind of "Batman phobia culture" has even subtly developed among Gotham's local underlings.
Being afraid of Batman among these smoking, drinking, tattooed, and permed-haired tough guys isn't something to be ashamed of. Batman in Gotham is like a natural disaster, like an earthquake, tsunami, or hurricane. If someone yelled "Come at me if you dare!" at a tsunami, the guys wouldn't admire their courage; they'd just think they're hopeless and should be taken to Arkham.
The only thing giving them courage now was the supposedly incredibly powerful high-tech weaponry in their hands. They weren't firing bullets, but energy beams; they had witnessed firsthand how these things could melt steel with a single shot.
Unfortunately, today's Batman is a little different.
The bat suddenly accelerated, like a black storm. It strolled leisurely through the gaps in the beams of light, stepping on lightning, easily sweeping past the armed thugs.
Batman stopped in his tracks, his cape fluttered down, and his henchmen were instantly lying on the ground.
A silent projectile slicing through the air flew from behind. Shen You casually raised his hand, pinching it between two fingers of his right hand.
A playing card landed precisely in his hand.
It was a hidden weapon thrown by the bomber.
His hidden weapon was caught, but a sinister smile appeared in his eyes.
"Hahaha, Batman got caught! I, Bomberman, have already touched that playing card!"
Bomberman's ability is contact detonation. He can cause anything he touches to explode.
boom!
The small playing cards unleashed astonishing energy, sending a storm of explosions through the air and causing the ceiling to collapse. Dull flames engulfed Batman's figure, and documents and book pages were blasted into the air.
But as the smoke cleared, the bomber's smile froze.
He saw the textured black leather, the bat emblem on its chest, slowly emerging from the smoke.
Flames and shocks licked at its black body, leaving it completely unharmed.
The bomber was stunned.
What's going on here?
Did I wander into the wrong movie set?
Batman: Man of Steel?
Even the penguin stared wide-eyed as if it had seen a ghost, turning into a complete idiot.
When Batman came up to him, Bomber felt as if he were facing a dark mountain, so oppressive that he could hardly breathe and could not even move a finger.
It's like the fear of the unknown when facing some kind of ghost or deity that defies common sense.
The bomber froze on the spot, his throat moved with difficulty, and he managed to squeeze out a sentence.
"I...I was wrong."
Bang.
Cobbler had no idea what the other person did. He only knew that the next moment, Bomber was also sent flying, soaring across the office and crashing headfirst into the bookshelf, disappearing into a sea of knowledge.
When he came to his senses, Batman was already standing in front of him.
Shen You was very satisfied with Coppa's trembling legs.
At first, he did consider that if he was going to put on an act, he should go all the way and maybe he should act like Batman to be more convincing and to scare the other person into talking.
But then I thought about it again, and realized it wasn't necessary.
Batman is already an urban legend that has been demonized. Showing off his ability to walk through walls, travel at super speed, and be invulnerable to bullets, giving Gotham residents a little bat-like shock, and adding a touch of vividness to the urban legend, might not be a bad thing.
I originally wanted to play with you as an ordinary person, but what I got in return was your scheming and contempt.
I'm not pretending anymore, I'm coming clean.
Actually, Superman is under my cloak.
Who knows how the urban legend will evolve in the future? But for now, Cobblepot's worldview has already been reshaped. Looking at the familiar yet strangely terrifying figure before him, he could only manage a strained smile.
“Hahaha, impressive, truly impressive. I knew you could do it, Batman, I never doubted it.” He chuckled and said, “Here’s the thing. My informants discovered that these superpowered criminals had infiltrated Gotham, and as a law-abiding Gotham resident with a righteous soul, I certainly wouldn’t allow it.”
But I am outnumbered and outmatched, so I feigned cooperation to gather them all together so that you could take them all down in one fell swoop.”
Shen You looked at Copport expressionlessly.
His eyes seemed to say, "Do you think you're stupid or am I stupid?"
He didn't say a word, and Copeport's voice grew softer and softer, as if he felt he couldn't continue making up a story.
Then, changing the subject, he waved his hand dismissively: "Hey, you've come so late this week, I was worried you wouldn't come at all. I was saying, we're so close now, why don't you just break into my house and blow up my roof from now on?"
"How about this: I'll leave you a VIP entrance through the skylight. You can just use the dedicated door whenever you need to come in, saving me the trouble of fixing the window. How about we call it the 'Bat Door'?"
"Those weapons," Shen You ignored him and asked in a voice that even he found somewhat eerie, "where did they come from?"
