Chapter 40 The Buddhist Kingdom in a Dream (Part 9)

Yang Jian and Xiao Yuan were sitting in a luxurious private room. In front of them was a large round table with many dishes on it.

Just then, a lifeless voice rang in Yang Jian's ear:

"Guest, your dishes have all been served. Please enjoy your meal."

An arm covered in horrifying lividity extended from Yang Jian's side, carrying a plate of steaming food.

The abrupt scene change left Yang Jian momentarily bewildered. Following the arm upwards, Yang Jian's pupils immediately contracted.

A numb, empty old man's face appeared before him.

The Door-Knocking Ghost, Qian Wanhao's grandfather.

Without hesitation, Yang Jian grabbed the plate and was about to smash it at the old ghost. He couldn't beat him in reality, but he was not afraid of him in this dream.

However, at that moment, a piece of broken glass flew over first and pierced the knocking ghost's chest with such force that it pinned him to the wall of the private room.

"Yang Jian, is that you?"

Yang Jian looked across the table at the sound of the voice. Lin Bei was sitting there, but he looked very energetic with bright eyes, a stark contrast to his previous gloomy demeanor.

"Lin Bei?"

Lin Bei was taken aback, then immediately put on a look of sudden realization, and sat down to say:
"Why didn't you say so earlier? Your cousin is just like you, a perfect match. Birds of a feather flock together."

Yang Jian looked around the private room. This place looked exactly like the place where his cousin Miao Xiaoshan was attacked by the ghost in the mirror.
