Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor
Chapter 210 A Tacit Understanding of Worry
Chapter 210 A Tacit Understanding of Worry
The island was about the same size as Dumbledore's office—a large, flat black stone slab, empty except for the light source emitting that green glow.
Since Dumbledore said there was no danger here, Li Wei had no more reservations and went straight forward to investigate.
The source of the green light was a stone basin resembling a meditation basin—filled with a bright green liquid that emitted a shimmering phosphorescence.
Below it is a base—the bottom of which reflects a captivating luster—and you can vaguely make out that it is a locket.
"So the Horcrux you mentioned that looks exactly the same is this one, right?"
Li Wei looked at the things in the basin and asked.
"yes--"
Dumbledore deliberately shook the sleeves of his robe upwards and, under Li Wei's frowning gaze, extended his fingertips to the surface of the liquid.
No matter how he waved his fingers, he couldn't touch the surface of the liquid—as if an invisible barrier was blocking him.
"Would you like to try it?"
"of course."
Li Wei extended his wand, and fine arcs of electricity circled the stone basin, quickly transforming into lightning snakes that surged into it.
Unfortunately, nothing changed—the lightning couldn't even penetrate the liquid surface; it was completely blocked.
Li Wei's brow furrowed even more—because he found himself unable to comprehend the scene.
Just how far did Voldemort's research into the Dark Arts go to achieve this level?
The trap they set was so elaborate that even Dumbledore and he couldn't escape it.
But his words still conveyed a sense of ease.
"Don't you find it fascinating? How exactly did Voldemort manage to do that? It's something worth studying for a long time—perhaps it would be better to call Snape over?"
“I have studied it carefully—this potion cannot be put in with your hand, cannot be made to disappear with a vanishing charm, cannot be separated, scooped dry or drained, nor can it be transformed, or its properties be changed by casting a spell or other means.”
Dumbledore seemed distracted as he raised his wand again, twirled it in the air, and conjured a tall crystal goblet in his hand.
"I can only conclude that this liquid needs to be drunk."
"Are you crazy?"
Li Wei's brows remained furrowed as he stared coldly at him.
"If I had a choice, I would definitely not want to do this—but right now we don't have much time—we don't have much time to waste."
So—let me do it.
Dumbledore took another step forward, looked at Livy, and instructed him:
"I hope that no matter how much I resist, you will force me to finish this potion."
"Are you serious? Drinking a poison carefully prepared by a master of dark magic?"
"Don't worry—Tom won't poison me right away—he wouldn't want to kill anyone who comes to this island immediately."
He will let them live a little longer so he can figure out how they managed to get through his defenses.
Most importantly, he needed to figure out why they were so eager to empty the stone basin—and he firmly believed that he was the only one who knew about his Horcrux.
"no--"
Li Wei reached out and, without hesitation, knocked the empty cup from Dumbledore's hand.
The crystal glass fell onto the hard rock with a crisp cracking sound, and shards rolled everywhere.
"Let's think of another way, shall we? You're not even willing to spare a little bit of time?"
He looked intently at the frail old man before him—he seemed utterly exhausted, even appearing somewhat vulnerable.
Faced with Li Wei's forceful persuasion, Dumbledore's face showed displeasure—and even a relieved yet inexplicable smile appeared on his face.
It seemed that he secretly hoped Levi would do that, but at the same time harbored other, opposite thoughts.
"Li Wei—alright, alright, I can disregard the feelings of others, but since you've spoken, what can this old man do but obey?"
Dumbledore took a step back and continued, "But please don't keep me waiting too long, okay?"
"Hmm—I'll try to resolve this."
Li Wei examined the green-glowing liquid, wondering how many magical potions it was a mixture of.
"Shall we leave first?"
Once Dumbledore made his decision, he unusually urged everyone to hurry up.
"Alright, what about that corpse at the bottom of the lake? What are you going to do with it?"
"I don't know—I think it's best not to disturb the peace of the deceased until I figure everything out."
Li Wei nodded and returned to the cave entrance with Dumbledore.
"Do you still have your mark?"
Dumbledore didn't rush to bleed people out at this moment. Instead, he seemed to have developed a kind of path dependence and directly sought help from Livy.
"Nothing was left—Voldemort's magic was so subtle that it all vanished in an instant."
Li Wei stretched out his arm, and his sleeve quickly transformed into a black, round-headed snake that bit into his arm—blood flowed down the wound.
He wiped his forearm on the stone wall—and the archway, having received this gift of blood, immediately reopened.
"You are so considerate of the elderly."
He moved too quickly; Dumbledore didn't have time to bleed him first and had to leave with him.
"Respecting the elderly and caring for the young is a Chinese tradition."
Li Wei responded and cast the Water Charm again—this time he wasn't worried about showing off his limited skills, so he cast the same spell on Dumbledore as well.
The two were enveloped by a transparent air membrane.
For some reason, they suddenly fell silent.
The two silently slid into the tunnel and swam back to the shore.
"Then—shall we go back to Hogwarts together?"
"I have some other things to take care of—sorry, you can go back now."
"You're not going to go and drink all the potions in that basin by yourself, are you, Dumbledore?"
"I won't—Li Wei, I won't—"
Dumbledore assured him, but his voice was somewhat unsteady.
Li Wei looked him up and down and nodded—since Dumbledore said he couldn't finish the potion in the basin on his own, he shouldn't do anything foolish while Li Wei was away.
After all, if that potion wasn't consumed by one person, it would probably quickly revert to its original state—this was something he sensed from his previous observations.
"Snapped!"
As firecrackers exploded, Li Wei's figure disappeared first.
Dumbledore closed his eyes and sensed for a moment—confirming that Levi had already left.
Alone on the shore, the melancholy expression on his face never seemed to fade.
In fact, Dumbledore was genuinely pleased that Livy had stopped him.
Levi and Tom are different.
Dumbledore was acutely aware of this on every occasion.
But at the same time, another worry lingered in his mind like a shadow, never fading away.
"Snapped!"
Dumbledore disappeared from the spot.
Instead of returning to Hogwarts, Li Wei appeared in a Muggle prison in England.
