Chapter 209 The Special Corpse

Chapter 209 The Special Corpse

"Gurgle-gur ...

I don't know when it started, but the gloomy lake surface gradually began to shine.

It was as if a giant cauldron had been set up at the bottom of the lake, and a fire had been lit in the center of the lake. The temperature of the entire lake began to rise visibly, and countless turbid bubbles began to rise from the inky black water, faster and faster.

Beneath the surface, the corpses that had been staring blankly upwards with empty eyes could no longer bear it—out of fear of powerful magical creatures, their few instincts had been suppressing their desire to attack.

But at this moment, it was no longer tolerable.

Their numb faces began to contort, their mouths opened in silent roars, revealing dark, gaping maws, and they charged forward, howling as they tried to tear Li Wei to shreds.

"Roar--!!!"

The silence of the entire cave was shattered by the first inhuman, malicious roar that came from underwater.

The second, the tenth, the hundredth—thousands upon thousands of roars converged into a wave of sound that shook the very soul, crashing against the rock face.

"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"

Like an underwater geyser erupting, countless pale, bloated corpses leaped out of the water, piling up in the air, in the center of the lake, and on the surface, transforming into a tidal wave of corpses that stretched from the sky to the earth.

Under the influence of some kind of magical fluctuation, their bodies pressed together, their limbs intertwined, grasping and clinging to each other, and amidst a teeth-grinding sound of bones grinding together, they were forcibly condensed and shaped.
A gigantic, pale hand, formed from hundreds of corpses, carrying an overwhelming aura of death and an aura that seemed poised to crush everything, slammed down on Li Wei, who was standing on the shore.

"Do you need help?"

Looking at the crescent-shaped horde of undead, Dumbledore straightened his cuffs.

"It doesn't matter."

Li Wei's wand was still submerged in the water, and the fingertips of the underwater corpses had already touched the tip of the wand.

"Yang Lei".

"Boom—" The fire in the center of the lake transformed into a real furnace.

"Sizzle—!"

The intensely bright platinum-gold light, originating from Livy's wand, transformed into leaping arcs of electricity, starting from the arm of the first Infernal—and leaping forward.

Razer instantly transformed into a blue glow.

Wherever the light passed, the tide of corpses dissolved like bubbles.

All evils will be warded off!

The colossal, sky-covering hand of the Yin Corpse, under the Yang Lightning, was like ice and snow thrown into a raging fire. Its earth-shattering roar abruptly ceased, and along with its body and demonic power, it vaporized inch by inch, returning to nature.

The light never stopped, sweeping across the lake like a tsunami.

Like a red-hot iron sinking into water, only this time what was melted away was the lake water, which should have been much stronger.
The light gradually faded.

The terrifying horde of corpses vanished completely under the divine punishment of the 'Yang Thunder,' as if wiped out of thin air. Only the vast amount of black ash that filled the air silently told the story.

"Wow, that's impressive—I thought you were going to do a few more rounds of kung fu, and I was just thinking of taking over for you."

Dumbledore couldn't help but praise.

"These undead corpses have long influenced this land, and have acquired some characteristics of immortality—they are devoid of fear and consciousness, possessing only a hunger for the living."
Your lightning magic seems to have a very strong counter-effect against them—did you already think of this when you acquired the legendary trait?

“Aren’t you one?” Li Wei didn’t look at Dumbledore, but stared intently at the center of the lake—where a young man with a youthful face was staring blankly at him.

He was also the only Yin Corpse that did not launch an attack on Li Wei—which is why the Yang Lightning, which dissolves everything, was able to avoid him with such precision.

When Dumbledore noticed this, his amazement deepened—such precise and powerful destruction could probably only be achieved by Livy.

He followed Li Wei's gaze. The young man seemed to have regained some semblance of clarity—his demeanor was distinctly different from the other undead.

The young man looked only eighteen or nineteen years old, and his face was pale because the 'corpse' had been soaking in water for a long time—but under the influence of black magic, he still retained most of his original appearance.

Voldemort probably thought that making people see the monsters underwater would increase their fear.

"Huh--?"

Dumbledore frowned as he looked at the robe, tattered from being soaked in seawater but still revealing its exquisite craftsmanship. He gazed at the young man's face and gradually remembered someone.

After a long while, he softly murmured a name.
"Blake"

"Blake?"

When Li Wei heard Sirius Black's family name, he turned to look at Dumbledore.

"Yes—you probably don't know him. He followed Voldemort when he was very young—but then he suddenly disappeared."

People believe he met with misfortune while serving Voldemort, perhaps executed for a failed mission, or killed by an Auror—but who would have thought he'd die here?

His voice trailed off, filled with complex emotions—several theories were swirling in his mind regarding Regulus's presence here.
Either way, it made him sad.

"Is he Sirius Black's older brother or younger brother?"

Li Wei searched for the memories in his mind.

"It's my younger brother—he's still so young."

Dumbledore let out a soft breath.

But at that moment, the corpse, which had been motionless like a puppet, suddenly raised its pale, swollen arm at an extremely slow speed.

The arm rose at an unsettlingly slow pace, as the corpse slowly turned its body to the side. Finally, as the fingertips came to rest, its direction was clearly pointed towards the body of water in the center of the lake that emitted a faint green light.

"His death must have been very turbulent."

Dumbledore watched this scene and sighed softly, his voice so gentle it was as if he were afraid of waking the dead at the bottom of the water.

"Magic is truly amazing."

Li Wei let out a soft breath, saw the Yin Corpse at the bottom of the water, and shook his head at the two of them very slowly but firmly.

"What do you mean by this, Principal?"

Li Wei noticed the movements of the Yin Corpse, and two conjectures flashed through his mind.

One: This Infernal is a loyal follower of Voldemort. Even after death, it resists their entry into the heart of Voldemort's Horcruxes, using this maze to frighten them.

Or perhaps, this corpse is trying to tell them that there's something wrong with that place?
Should we tell them not to go, or...?

“There is no danger there, Li Wei.”

"Dumbledore said softly, taking a step forward—the infernal corpses and the black water at the bottom of the water had vanished in Livy's magic, along with the small boat that Livy had no idea what it was."

"We have to find out the truth no matter what."

Li Wei followed suit and took a step—the rocks at the bottom of the lake, having lost their former properties after being destroyed, obediently transformed into land supporting the two of them under the influence of magic.

The two of them calmly climbed onto the rocky islet in the middle of the lake.

The corpse underground remained motionless, simply standing there in a daze.
