Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor

Chapter 16 The Discontented Students

Chapter 16 The Discontented Students
Snape is gone.

In the corner, Joe and Camille exchanged a glance, both seeing the subtle meaning in each other's eyes.

Just then, Li Wei turned around and looked at them, his face still expressionless.

Jia Meier immediately asked:
"Professor, is Dumbledore our enemy?"

"No way, don't listen to Snape's nonsense."

Li Wei shook his head, his mind preoccupied with other thoughts, and casually replied:

“Professor Dumbledore can never be our enemy. He will only do the right thing. You can trust him.”

Of course, in Li Wei's mind, there was a major premise to this statement—not to fall into Dumbledore's plan.

Once you're chosen by him as a candidate to defeat the Dark Lord, or even just one of the key elements in that process, fate will likely come knocking, leaving you feeling powerless to control your own destiny.

However, since he was overseeing this matter, there was no need to tell his two assistants, lest it cause unnecessary worry.

As for what Snape reminded us of, there's no need to worry.

He's doing the right thing, and even if Dumbledore finds out about him forcing everyone to take oaths, the old man will probably just feel more pleased and favorably disposed towards him. That's a good thing.

Snape's belief that Levi was in danger stemmed from his limited understanding of Levi's "Slytherin side" and his lack of knowledge about Levi's true character.

This is not Snape's fault; after all, a Slytherin with principles was no different from an endangered animal in that era.

"I'm a little tired today, I'll rest first, you guys should go to bed early too."

"is teacher."

Saturday was a busy day for Li Wei and his assistants.

After abandoning the three Unforgivable Curses, he set his sights on another dangerous spell—Fiendfire.

In the hands of the Dark Lord Grindelwald, this spell was so powerful that it could destroy the entire city of Paris.

A new goal has been set, but to determine a specific research direction, the three need to first understand the characteristics of the Fiery Blaze and draw conclusions that align with their 'imagination' before they can begin their search.

Aside from Li Wei and his two companions, the students of Hogwarts also had an exceptionally fulfilling day.
I don't know who first spread the word—the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor has assigned a lot of homework.

In short, after a night of reflection on Friday and the practice on Saturday morning, all the students, except for those who slept until the sun was high in the sky, understood one thing.

If they don't hurry up and do their homework, they are very likely to be unable to finish and hand it in by Sunday afternoon.

What's more troublesome is that the homework assigned by Li Wei is only the first step; it mainly involves repetitive copying and memorization.

This means that even if you can copy someone else's correct answer, you will still have to spend countless hours copying it.

By the end of the day, the student group had clearly divided into three factions.

[Good Student Group]: They don't pile up all their homework until the weekend and consciously finish it ahead of time. Although Li Wei's homework caused them some trouble, they still managed to complete all of it with ease.

【The Risk-Taking Faction】: Using a magically enchanted quill to 'automatically' complete Li Wei's copying assignment, after countless efforts and amidst frantic howling, he simply chose not to memorize the ten characteristics of dark creatures!
"Gentlemen, if the professor finds out about this on Monday and causes the college to lose points as a result, I will not make any excuses. Please take me to the gallows and kill me."

Ron Weasley, standing solemnly on the table, solemnly clenched his fist and slammed it into his chest when he said "kill me."

"Do not!!!"

The group anxiously surrounded Ron in the center, their expressions filled with grief.

“What an idiot! Harry, don’t be like him.”

"Ah, of course."

Harry's tone was uncertain. The morning Quidditch practice had exhausted him, and he was already feeling tired. He even felt dizzy and lightheaded when faced with the assignments.

"You're not going to fail to finish, Harry?"

Hermione Granger stared at Harry with a look that said, "I'll kill you."

“You and Ron have been complaining all year about not learning anything from Professor Quirrell.”

Now, we have a truly outstanding new professor who genuinely intends to teach us some practical knowledge. So, you're not going to... quit learning, are you?

"I—I will definitely do it, Hermione!"

Thus, the third faction was born.

[The Tenacious Resistance Faction]: They do everything in their power to finish all the copying assignments before the deadline, and then spend the rest of the time in a desperate process of memorizing.

As a result, the older students canceled their dates (Levy assigned them significantly more homework than the younger students), Harry canceled his meeting with Hagrid, and the younger students canceled their wizard chess sessions.

For a time, most students complained about the new professor, and Li Wei's reputation plummeted without anyone realizing it.

Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.

The class representatives gathered in Li Wei's office with the collected assignments.

"All sit down."

Li Wei casually waved his wand, and three round tables and seven chairs appeared in front of them.

"Grades 1-4 (lower grades) sit at one table, and grades 5-7 (upper grades) sit at another table."

Li Wei gestured for everyone to sit down, and the assignments they were holding spontaneously flew onto Li Wei's desk and lined up in order.

Barton appeared silently before everyone, carrying a tray with milk tea and snacks, which he distributed to everyone in turn.

"Thank you."

Hermione thanked him quietly, secretly observing Barton's appearance—it was the first time she had seen such a strange creature that looked human but was extremely small and could appear silently.
In response to Hermione's gratitude, Barton gave an elegant bow, which made the little girl's eyes sparkle.

"These are candies from the Bee Duke's shop? Professor, you've gone to great lengths."

A pleasant male voice sounded in her ear, and Hermione snapped back to reality, subconsciously looking down at the candies on the dessert plate—well, they were quite tempting, to be honest.

Of course, Hermione would absolutely not eat it now—she didn't want to create the image of a glutton for the professor right from the start.

"It won't cost more than a few Galleons, so eat with peace of mind. This is one of the perks for you class representatives."

Li Wei dislikes dealing with unnecessary people, but once he decides to make a connection, he begins to value personal relationships.

However, his approach often results in what appears to be an exchange of benefits.

"From now on, come to my place every Sunday at four o'clock, and I will give you a half-hour private lesson. Each of you can ask me one question."

You can think of this as an extra study group.

In return, I will set additional learning goals for you, and all of you must be at the forefront of the class.

I will only grade your assignments, and then you can use them to grade other students' assignments.

"Is there any problem?"
