Hogwarts: A Chinese-Style Professor

Chapter 11 I'll keep an eye on him for you.
One morning, Li Wei taught classes to students from the third and fourth year colleges and assigned a lot of homework.
The assignments include copying the key points of spell casting with its many obstacles twenty times, previewing the spell of quick imprisonment in advance, and copying information about ten common dark creatures, also twenty times, and memorizing them (to be checked in the second week).
In addition, due to the poor performance of Gryffindor and Slytherin, Levi had to consider postponing the announcement of the monthly exams to avoid overwhelming the students' fragile nerves.
However, unlike the lackluster lion and snake, a fourth-grade student gave Li Wei a big surprise.
Cedric Diggory, from Hufflepuff College.
The boy had a handsome appearance, a burly build, and black hair the same color as Li Wei's.
He immediately guessed Li Wei's intentions during the test he gave him, and even used the Freeze Spell to subdue all the little sprites in the room without causing any disturbance.
Levi immediately gave Hufflepuff five points and appointed Cedric as the fourth-grade class monitor, after which the same teaching content was taught.
The position of class monitor was part of Li Wei's liberation plan.
Grading students' homework was of no help to him; it was just monotonous, repetitive work. He felt it was a waste of time to hand it over to his two assistants, so it was the most appropriate task to give it to the class monitor.
After finishing his morning lectures, Li Wei returned to his office, preparing to take two assistants to the auditorium for lunch.
Along the way, little wizards kept running past, curiously observing Li Wei without saying a word.
"I have already spoken with the librarian, Mrs. Pince, and you can borrow any books in the library on the spot. The Hogwarts library is a treasure trove, and you can go there often in the future. You can take your time with your research."
From now on, we should slow down our pace.
Joeri nodded, glancing furtively at Camille beside him—the latter's face remained expressionless, seemingly uninterested in the library.
Thinking of this, his initial anticipation faded—Jamie always prioritized the professor's goals and never considered anything else, so naturally he wouldn't fall behind.
Snape, looking grim, followed Dumbledore into the headmaster's office after confirming that Dumbledore had finished his meal.
"I really don't understand what you're thinking!"
"About what, Severus?"
Dumbledore sat in the main seat, calmly watching him.
Snape showed no intention of sitting down, standing stiffly near the door with an unhappy expression.
Why did you reject my part-time teaching application and instead hire a Slytherin to teach at the school?
Do you know what kind of person Li Wei is? He's completely incapable of doing this!
“I’m afraid I don’t think so, Severus.”
Dumbledore rolled his eyes at Snape.
"I have discussed educational policies with Li Wei. Whether it is the theories he proposed or the students he personally mentored, they all prove that he is an excellent scholar."
"student?"
Snape frowned deeply, suddenly remembering the two unfamiliar faces following behind Levi.
"How could someone like him take on students?"
"I'm afraid the number will exceed your imagination."
"How is that possible? How could such a self-centered guy agree to teach? He would never waste his time on useless things. Is he a fake?"
"Severus, you sound like you know him quite well?"
Dumbledore was somewhat surprised by Snape's attitude—although both were Slytherin, they should be from two different worlds, yet they seemed to have a connection.
“He used to be my classmate. Even if I dislike him, I still know something about him.” Snape’s expression was somewhat unnatural, but he finally admitted it.
“That’s wonderful.” Dumbledore nodded. “Actually, I’m personally very interested in Professor Levy, and I do have some reservations about him teaching at Hogwarts—”
"Then you return it!"
"Severus, since we all have questions, why don't you sit down and let us clarify all the issues?"
Snape still didn't sit down, as if sitting in front of Dumbledore and seriously discussing Levy with him was a very difficult thing to do.
His face was stiffer than his body, and his voice seemed to be squeezed out of his lips.
"I just want to understand one thing: where did you find Li Wei, and why did you invite him to teach? And why did he agree to come?"
Dumbledore shook his head and casually waved his hand, and two ice goblets appeared out of thin air.
"How about trying iced lemon black tea? This was recommended to me by Li Wei. After trying it once, I felt it was really good. However, I am getting older, and drinking iced drinks often may not be good for my health."
As he spoke, he added five sugar cubes to the lemon black tea in front of him.
Snape strode over and sat down in front of Dumbledore, saying nothing, just staring at him.
Dumbledore, unperturbed, slowly stirred his drink with a silver spoon and said gently:
"Let me answer your first question first, but I hope you can keep today's conversation a secret."
"When I found Levi, he was leading a group of students to study dark magic and had already defeated nine Auror squads that came to capture him."
Snape opened his mouth, a strange surprise in his eyes, but he desperately swallowed his words back.
"Neither the Ministry of Magic nor I can allow such a master of magic to continue his research on a dangerous path."
"It's just learning dark magic, what danger could there be?"
"Can you arrest every wizard who has studied dark magic? Then let the Ministry of Magic arrest them first."
Now you're taking his side again?
Dumbledore glanced at Snape, about to continue speaking, when the portrait of Headmaster Black on the wall suddenly came to life and spoke in agreement:
“Ah—not bad—it’s just learning dark magic, a step that every great wizard must go through. Levi—although I have no recollection of this Slytherin, he is undoubtedly on the right path.”
"Shut up!"
The other portraits were engrossed in gossip when he broke the silence, and they all rushed into the frame and pinned Blake down.
Dumbledore paused for a moment while stirring the drink, and then stopped stirring altogether.
"In short, Professor Li Wei and I have reached an agreement, which I believe is good for both of us."
"Okay, I understand completely now."
Having gotten the answer he wanted, Snape got up and took his leave.
As he reached the doorway, he suddenly turned around—at that moment, Dumbledore was looking up and drinking tea.
"Livy is a fool full of womanly kindness, Dumbledore. His study of the Dark Arts has absolutely nothing to do with any evil intentions, I can assure you of that."
"As for the rest, I'll keep an eye on him for you!"
Dumbledore finished his tea in one gulp, looked in the direction Snape had gone, and murmured:
"I don't recall asking him to do that, did I?"
