Chapter 76 The Evil Dragon of the Frederick Family
Chapter 76 The Evil Dragon of the Frederick Family
These past two days, Caesar has been pondering two things.
What should the new Coca-Cola trademark be called in this world?
The original name Coca-Cola is completely unacceptable; in Iroquois, Coca-Cola sounds like "vomit quickly."
That doesn't sound appealing.
So he has to choose a new name.
As for trademark registration, he has absolutely no worries.
In Fein, there is a fund called the "Youth Patent Invention Fund" that targets teenagers under the age of 16. If they have a brilliant idea and an invention that looks useful at first glance, the fund will help them register it as a trademark.
Although most of it was used to gild the image of the children of officials, he could use it to obtain the Coca-Cola registration certificate.
However, the troublesome part is that a letter of recommendation is required to participate.
As for recommendation letters, those from college professors should also be acceptable. As professors from prestigious universities, their recommendation letters carry significant weight.
However, these things can be considered later. What he needs to do now is to prepare all the registration information for Coca-Cola.
"The vessel is very sturdy, with a grayish-white body and a low, orange-red foot. It should date back to at least the Baroque period. Judging from the painted patterns and the characteristics of the design, it is typical of the Kingdom of Kad."
The porcelain jar spun around in Caesar's hand, and he nodded, saying to the bearded boss, Cordin, "It's the real deal."
"Phew, that's good," Cordin wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Damn, when my nephew brought it back, I thought I'd been scammed again. Now I can sleep soundly tonight."
He patted Caesar on the shoulder with a big smile.
"You've worked hard, Caesar. You should head back now."
"Well, okay."
Caesar nodded.
He was also a little tired after helping Kodin sort through the antiques all day.
This was his first day at the Gusger Collectibles Shop, and he learned that the appraiser who usually worked there had gone back to his hometown to take care of his elderly father, and that the owner, Mr. Koding, could only appraise some modern collectibles and was not an expert in antiques, which was why he had hired Caesar.
Caesar was changing his clothes to go home when Cordin brought over a cardboard box containing a pile of old books, which he took out one by one and sorted through them.
Caesar, who was about to leave, sensed something was amiss.
He looked at the box of old books.
"Boss, what's this box of books?"
“Oh, this was sent by an old friend of mine. It’s some first editions of bestselling novels. He likes these kinds of books that have high collectible value. He sent them to me to ask for an appraisal, as he’s a little short on cash lately,” Cordin said.
Caesar stepped forward and picked up a book that looked quite ordinary.
However, he sensed an unusual magical fluctuation from it.
These books may seem ordinary, but they touched upon extraordinary things.
Moreover, this thing is of a high status.
Caesar narrowed his eyes slightly and then asked, "Boss, if it's convenient, could you give me your friend's contact information?"
"Hmm? What's wrong?" Cordin asked.
“It’s alright. I also really like these antique books. There was one I really wanted before, and I’d like to visit your friend to see if he has it,” Caesar said.
“Oh, that’s perfect. He lives in Durndin, so it only takes half a day by train,” Cordin said.
The city of Drenden is the second largest city in Fenn, and due to recent trade policies, its prosperity may very well surpass that of the royal capital, Alexstrasz.
Cordin wrote a letter of introduction to Caesar, telling him that with this letter, his friend would treat him kindly.
Caesar planned to go to Drentin early the next morning, and told Yumilia that he was going to see a friend and not to worry.
But after Caesar left, Cordin suddenly remembered something he had forgotten to tell him: gangs were rampant in the city of Drendin, and there were several streets that were absolutely off-limits.
Drending has always had serious gang problems. Often, while walking around, you can see several black cars speeding down the street, with gang members wearing top hats leaning out and firing Drending typewriters with a rate of fire of 700-800 at some scoundrel who has offended the family.
However, the gang problem in Drenden has eased in the past year. Many families have either withdrawn or gone into hiding, and most neighborhoods have become much more peaceful.
This outcome was not due to an upgrade in police presence in Drenton, but rather the influx and takeover of Drenton's underground businesses by a much larger family.
The true ruler of Drendin now is Ita Holonig, who is known as the "Fetre Dragon".
Abandoned factory in Durden.
Cassio leaned against the trunk of the car, finished his last cigarette, and then threw the remaining cigarette butt on the ground and stomped it out.
He glanced at the quiet, overgrown factory gate and spat on the ground again.
"Damn it, why aren't you here yet?"
Shortly after he finished complaining, the sound of a car engine came from inside, and a black limousine slowly drove in.
His gaze darkened, and he unconsciously glanced at the abandoned factory buildings around him. The car stopped, and the driver and passenger doors opened first, with the driver and passenger getting out.
The driver was an old man with a white beard but a tall and upright figure. What was striking was that he had a pair of dragon horns on his forehead.
The passenger who got out of the passenger seat was a woman in her thirties with fiery red curly hair and an unusually tall figure. She also had a pair of dragon horns on her head and was carrying a briefcase.
The rear window slowly rolled down, revealing a petite figure.
She was a girl who looked to be only a little over ten years old. Despite her young age, she had an amazingly beautiful appearance. Her black hair was tied into two braids at the back of her head. She was wearing a sleeveless pleated dress with a very contemporary feel, but she was also wearing an oversized formal coat that did not match her size.
Her pretty face carried a coldness befitting her age and high position. What drew even more attention were the pair of pure black dragon horns on her head and the scale-covered dragon tail that trailed down to her knees.
Cassio knew that although the three of them all possessed dragon horns and tails, the only true pure-blooded dragon was that young girl.
The two tall, half-dragon hybrids, a man and a woman, stood on either side of the car like servants, watching Cassio.
Cassio raised his eyebrows, then smiled brightly.
"Good afternoon, my esteemed patriarch."
"Cassio." Ita's indifferent eyes glanced at Cassio, his voice young yet carrying a strong sense of authority.
"Where are the things?"
Cassio pulled a thick stack of folders from inside his coat and waved them at her.
Ita nodded slightly, and the tall, mixed-race man, Doruvin, walked over, took the folder, and handed it back to Ita.
Ita flipped through the contents of the folder when Cassio's voice came from outside:
“This lists all the participants in the Moukin Bank case, including Deputy Mayor Leanne Sack of Drentin and Minister of Water Resources Finn O’Neill. Their operations of underground casinos are also marked here. It took me a lot of time to get this for you,” Cassio said with a broad smile.
"So, my payment."
The woman with fiery red curly hair raised her suitcase.
"Can I see inside?" Cassio asked impatiently.
"Once the head of the family confirms it, you will naturally receive it," the woman said calmly.
“Okay.” Cassio shrugged.
Ita flipped through the documents, then suddenly spoke:
Where is Saiwan's information?
Cassio's expression changed: "I couldn't get information about some of his issues this time, please forgive me."
"But there are already enough names on this list, so it doesn't matter if he's missing one."
"Is that so?" Ita said calmly. "Or perhaps, he simply didn't give it to you?"
Cassio's heart turned cold instantly. When he saw the pair of golden vertical pupils directed at him, he suddenly realized that she had known all along.
"Get started!" he shouted toward the abandoned factory.
But no one responded. On the top floor of the building, a figure that looked like a ferocious beast slowly walked out, dragging two limp corpses in his hands. Those were his companions who had been arranged around the area beforehand.
“Your loyalty is unreliable, Cassio, just like the three families you served before, but the difference is, this time I will not show you any mercy.”
Ita's voice sounded like a pronouncement from hell. Cassio turned to run, but the figure on the rooftop leaped down and slammed him to the ground.
The beast's saliva dripped onto the back of his neck, and he heard a low growl as it panted heavily, its sharp teeth about to touch his neck.
"Wait! I still have a wife!" Cassio pleaded in his final moments.
“She will go and keep you company,” Ita said calmly.
"Also, please give my regards to Cyvan."
The sounds of tearing and bones breaking rang out as two servants watched the horrific scene unfold.
"Master, the body should be preserved if possible," Doruvan said in a low voice.
Ita let out a soft breath and called out to the beast-like figure:
"Stop, Brutus."
As if by some unseen force, Brutus, who was unleashing his wild side, was pinned down. Blood smeared from the corner of his mouth, he turned around with a low growl, looking displeased.
Ita gestured, and the woman with fiery red curly hair opened her briefcase, which contained only a large bone. She tossed the bone out as if teasing a dog, and Brut immediately pounced on it, catching it with a howl before crawling on the ground and gnawing on it with all his might.
"Clean up the locations on the list; don't hold back on anything not on the whitelist." Ita handed the stack of documents to Doruvan.
"What about Saiwan?"
“He can’t escape,” Ita said calmly. “Anyone who dares to sharpen their knives against the family will not escape.”
