Chapter 240 Invitation, Stalker
Chapter 240 Invitation, Stalker
On Saturday morning, Caesar got up very early and got ready to go to the Ecological Institute.
His noise woke Yumilia, who came out yawning, wearing a fluffy nightgown.
"Caesar, it's the weekend, why are you up so early?"
These past few days, Yumilia has been studying at the Ecology Institute every day, busier than when she was at the Botanical Garden. She's been coming home later than Caesar every day. Today is a rare day off, and she plans to get a good night's sleep.
“I have an appointment with someone, so I might not be back until tonight,” Caesar said.
"With whom?" Yumilia asked curiously.
"Yes, Professor Muirner, I've made an appointment with her at the museum," Caesar told him truthfully.
"Wow, you two are so close now?" Yumilia exclaimed, covering her mouth in surprise.
"Just good friends with similar interests. Nothing else to do this weekend. The weather's nice today, so I thought I'd go out for a stroll," Caesar said.
“That’s more like it. Caesar used to prefer staying home and studying. I always told him he should go out and have fun with his friends. That’s what young people should do,” Yumilia said with satisfaction.
Then she added;
"Then, don't cause the professor any trouble. You should spend a lot of time with her. I've been in the Institute of Ecology these past few days and I can feel that the professor is under a lot of pressure every day."
"She can maintain an optimistic attitude under such pressure; the professor is truly remarkable."
"Okay, I understand. I'll head out now." Caesar wrapped a scarf around his neck and put on his overcoat.
“Okay, oh, by the way, has Ita been unhappy lately? I saw her looking sullen when I came over the day before yesterday,” Yumilia said.
“I heard it’s work-related. It’s alright. I’ll go and take care of her when I have some free time in a few days,” Caesar said.
After saying goodbye, the two went outside. Yumilia leaned against the door frame, looked at the bright sunshine outside the window, and yawned again.
"The weather is really nice today, so I'll just sleep in all day," she said, and drifted back to her room in a daze.
Caesar went downstairs, where a car was already waiting. It was a private car he had borrowed from Freya; after all, the person he was meeting today was of special status, and basic treatment was necessary.
After arriving at the Institute of Ecology by car, I waited in the lobby for a while before seeing a beautiful figure walk out.
"Good morning, Xiao Sa," Muirna greeted him warmly.
Today she wore a brown long-collar trench coat, with a white ruffled single-button top underneath, a gray-blue scarf, a dark long skirt, and black boots. Her light green long hair flowed in the wind, giving her a modern urban woman vibe.
After Caesar greeted them, they walked outside together.
Today is a rare sunny day; the morning sun is warm and pleasant.
“Today is really perfect for going out and having fun. I feel like I’m going to grow mushrooms if I stay in the greenhouse for too long,” Muirna said, squinting as she felt the warmth of the sun on her body.
“Indeed, the capital is shrouded in smog every winter, it’s so cold and gloomy. If it weren’t for the southward relocation of the industrial zone a few years ago, there probably wouldn’t be many sunny days like this,” Caesar said.
"The people who proposed the industrial zone relocation project were truly brilliant," he said.
Muirna smiled to herself, guessing that Caesar probably didn't know that the relocation plan for the capital's industrial zone was originally proposed by her.
When they arrived at the waiting car, the driver, who was standing by the car, called out to Caesar and opened the door for him, but Muirner stood behind him without moving.
"Are we going by car?" she asked.
Otherwise
“Why don’t we walk there? We can get some sun, stretch our legs, and have more time to talk to you, Caesar, right?” Muirner said.
Caesar paused, glanced at the bewildered driver, nodded in agreement with Muirner, and said to the driver:
"You go back first."
"Yes."
The car drove away, and Caesar and Muirner walked side by side down the street.
The sunlight was warm, and listening to the birds chirping in the morning, along with the shouts and bells from the shops on both sides of the street, I felt a sense of peace and tranquility.
"Sorry, Xiao Sa, I generally try to avoid taking a car whenever possible," Muirna said as they walked.
"Is it because of a fuel problem?" Caesar asked tentatively.
After all, it's normal for Muirner, as an environmentalist, to have prejudices against things that cause environmental pollution.
However, Muirner smiled knowingly:
"It's not that I'm old-fashioned, it's just that I'm not used to the cramped space in a car,"
She shrugged helplessly: "You'd probably laugh at me if I told you, but I get dizzy as soon as I get in a car, so I try to avoid it as much as possible." "Clauscissism?" Caesar asked, this psychological condition also exists in this world.
"They're somewhat similar, but mine is a bit more complicated," Muirner said with a wry smile.
It's impolite to pry into someone's illness, so Caesar stopped there and changed the subject.
They chatted as they strolled leisurely toward the Bolun Creek Museum.
A black sedan was slowly following on the street not far away.
With the car window half-rolled down, Ita peered through her sunglasses at the two people walking and laughing on the street, her lower lip bitten tightly.
"Damn it, I knew it! Caesar went out so early to see this woman!"
Ita said bitterly.
She had planned to use today as a day off to visit Yumilia and reconcile with Caesar, but she didn't expect to see him leave as soon as she arrived. When she followed him, she found that he was actually looking for Muirna!
This made Xiaolong so angry that his face turned red.
"He already has me, yet he's still dating other women. This is cheating!" Ita said bitterly.
Delina, sitting in the front row, sighed.
What a perfectly respectable head of the household! Now he's acting like a resentful woman, stalking others. Sigh.
"Patriarch, should we follow them?" Dalina asked.
Ita gritted his teeth,
"Follow them! I want to see where they end up. They can't possibly end up going somewhere else."
"Caesar is still a child." Delina thought helplessly, but still stepped on the gas and followed.
Caesar was unaware that Itah was following him; his mind was now entirely on Muirna.
He invited her out of the way to find out Muirna's attitude and her true purpose in wanting to meet Rean.
Muirner's identity is not to be underestimated. If she is genuinely seeking cooperation on a plea basis, it would be of great benefit to me. But if she is after something else, then this threat must be dealt with before that.
He really hoped it was the former.
Whether in the past or present, he finds it difficult to accept turning against his former friend.
"Boss, two cups of sweet barley tea and two yogurt croissants."
While he was pondering this, Muirner stood in front of a breakfast shop and ordered his food.
Soon, two hot breakfasts were placed at the serving area.
"Your order, Miss Elf." The waiter greeted her with a bright smile.
"Thank you."
Muirner handed a copy to Caesar.
"Try it, the sweet barley tea and yogurt croissant here are especially delicious, I always come here to order one whenever I go out," she said.
"Thank you." Caesar took the croissant, took a bite, and found the crispy crust, soft interior, and sour cream filling to be truly amazing.
Another sip of hot sweet barley tea warms you up even on a cold day.
Seeing his expression, Muirner knew he was satisfied, and he took a bite of the croissant himself.
About twenty minutes later, the two arrived at the Lunxi Museum together.
After checking their two tickets, they entered the magnificent and grand museum. The retro marble building had a feel of the ancient Pompeii period, a time similar to ancient Greek civilization on Earth.
As soon as they entered, on the museum street, inside a sturdy sedan, Xia withdrew her gaze.
The driver in the front seat glanced at the time and said, "Princess, aren't we going in now?"
"Wait a little longer, Celie hasn't come yet," Sia said calmly.
Today, following Caesar's request, I'm preparing to meet with Muirna. To avoid suspicion, I'll call it inviting Celyl to visit the museum. Given her status, it's normal for her to visit a museum with historical significance. But my real purpose is to secretly meet with Muirna inside the museum later and, based on Caesar's assessment, express my stance to her.
While waiting in the car, she suddenly saw a sedan stop not far ahead, and the person who got out of the sedan was none other than the head of the evil dragon family.
She watched as Ita stormed into the museum.
"Huh?" Sia's lips twitched.
"Why is she here too?"
