Chapter 286 Fierce Battle

Chapter 286 Fierce Battle (Eighth Update)

“Jack, stop them!” Valerie’s calm voice rang out.

The next moment, the two dark red steel behemoths moved.

Valerie controlled the Iron Guard with a speed synchronized with her nerves, taking heavy steps, the power gauntlets humming as she delivered a precise punch to another vampire attempting to flank her.

The demon raised his burning weapon to parry, but the Iron Guard's immense strength sent him and his weapon flying, crashing into a distant metal wall with a dull thud.

Jack's Iron Guard was a bit clumsy, but thanks to the machine's powerful performance, it successfully blocked the third Vampire's attack on the remaining Storm Loyalists with its added close-combat ram.

The collision of metal and brass sparks a dazzling burst of light.

(Iron Guard Cockpit)

“Mann!” Valerie’s voice rang out in the encrypted channel. Her Iron Guard was engaged in a dangerous struggle with the vampire who had been driven back and then went berserk again. Every collision between the demon’s burning weapon and the Iron Guard’s power gauntlets produced blinding sparks and the shrill creaking of twisting metal.

Mann instantly understood her intention—someone needed to break the deadlock.

"Rebecca, provide fire support! Dorio, Pila, follow me and support the Iron Guard! Falco, Mowell, keep a close eye on that wizard and don't let him pull any tricks!" He quickly gave the orders, his voice steady, trying to maintain order amidst the chaos.

Rebecca's shoulder-mounted plasma cannon emitted a low, charging hum, but the enemy and her own forces were too close for her to risk firing a salvo.

"What a nuisance!" she spat, quickly switching to the laser gun she carried as a secondary weapon.

Beams of intense heat, like precise surgical scalpels, struck the vampire's head, joints, and other vital areas.

Although it could not penetrate its tough skin blessed by the power of the warp, the continuous burning and impact effectively disrupted its balance and attack rhythm, creating precious breathing space and counterattack space for Valerie's Iron Guard.

On the other side, Dorio let out a deep roar like a lioness, her bio-enhanced muscles tensed instantly, and she charged like a cannonball towards the other vampire who was locked in a stalemate with Jack's Iron Guard.

Without any fancy moves, she delivered a straight punch, infused with all her strength, that slammed into the devil's muscular back with a faint whooshing sound!
"Oh!"

The moment the fist struck the ground, the built-in explosive core was triggered, and a small but deadly burst of energy exploded at the point of impact.

The vampire let out a howl mixed with pain and rage, staggered forward, leaving a charred trail behind him with eerie flames that were difficult to extinguish.

Just as the vampire lost its balance due to being attacked from both sides and exposed an opening on its side neck, Mann's already raised incendiary gun steadily locked onto the target.

"laugh--!"

The deep, distinctive jet of energy rang out once more, and the invisible rays of heat energy traversed space, striking precisely.

The vampire's body suddenly stiffened, and then burst forth with intense flames that were too dazzling to look at!

It let out a shrill, distorted howl, frantically scratching at its burning body as if trying to dig out the flames from within, but the incineration process that began at the molecular level was irreversible.

In just a few seconds, the ferocious demon was reduced to a pile of charred remains that convulsed violently and eventually collapsed before everyone's eyes, leaving only the lingering stench of sulfur.

The first demon has been successfully killed!

The death of their companion completely enraged the remaining two vampires. The flames of malice burning in their eyes were almost bursting forth, and their attacks became even more frenzied and reckless.

The one entangled with Astartes, the Fist of the Empire, completely abandoned its defense, its burning greatsword slashing wildly with a suicidal stance, forcing Astartes to temporarily evade its attacks. When Astartes parried with its chainsaw sword, the sparks that flew up were like a waterfall.

On the other side, struggling with Jack's Iron Guard, they tried to push the Iron Guard down with pure brute force, their hooves carving deep grooves into the metal ground.

Despite his discomfort, Judge Kelas fired precise shots with his explosive pistol in an attempt to relieve the pressure on Astartes, while loudly chanting ancient and powerful exorcism incantations.

An invisible, reassuring field of power emanated from him, like warm sunshine melting snow, suppressing to some extent the suffocating subspace evil energy surrounding the vampires and weakening their ferocity.

Throughout the pre-processing area, the roar of chainsaw swords, the boom of bombs, the howl of demons, the impact of weapons, the holy words of exorcism, and the noise of twisting metal intertwined into a raging symphony.

The Chaos Wizard, seizing the slight opening when Astartes was forced back and his attention was drawn to the mad demon, dragged his half-grown body once more, like a lame vulture, and desperately lunged toward the torn ventilation duct opening—his last escape route.

Just as his fingertips were about to touch the cold metal edge of the pipe!

"boom!"

A steady shot rang out from a grenade launcher.

It didn't come from the Inquisitor, but from Astartes, the Fist of the Empire!
As he unleashed a powerful slash at the vampire, he simultaneously fired a precise explosive bolt with extraordinary combat instincts and marksmanship.

The bullets didn't hit the wizard directly, but rather the ground just inches in front of him!

Although the violent explosion and shrapnel did not directly hit the wizard, the shockwave and debris successfully knocked him back, cutting off his last hope of escape.

Several sharp metal fragments even cut open his deformed limbs and intact cheeks, drawing out foul blood and some disgusting tissue fluid.

The retreat is completely cut off! Ahead lies the insurmountable mountain of Astartes, and behind us are the menacing Mann squad and the recovering Inquisitor.

The half of the Chaos Wizard's face that still retained a human form was twisted with extreme anger, despair, and pain, while the other half of his writhing flesh emitted a shrill scream that was so piercing it was inhuman, filled with hatred and blasphemy against the real universe.

"You...forced me to this!" he roared, his voice hoarse and broken, a mixture of human language and demonic whispers. "Since you cannot offer this precious gift to the Lord, then use your souls and flesh to quell my rage! You...will all die!"

He abandoned all hope of escape, turned around abruptly, and unleashed all his madness and accumulated psionic energy like a burst dam onto Mann's squad and the Inquisitor who had just struggled to his feet!

He judged that these "mortals" were easier to break through and could also disrupt the mind of the powerful Astartes to the greatest extent.

His massive, completely distorted claw, covered in a chitinous shell, suddenly rose, its fingertip crackling with dangerous pinkish-purple arcs of electricity, and aimed at Inquisitor Kelas!

"Heretic! Die!" The Inquisitor struggled to raise his power sword, inlaid with holy relics, in an attempt to parry and launch a counterattack.

But the Chaos Wizard's psionic lightning came too fast and too fiercely! A bolt of lightning as thick as an arm, containing destructive power, burst forth instantly, tearing through the air with a crackling sound like a thousand birds screaming at the same time, and struck the Inquisitor directly!
Lightning struck the power sword precisely!

The blinding light instantly engulfed the Inquisitor's figure. The massive energy overload not only instantly disintegrated the power sword's force field but also pierced through the Inquisitor's armor.

He was blasted away like a kite with a broken string, crashing heavily into the hard metal wall behind him with a muffled thud. Arcs of electricity crackled across the surface of his power armor. He struggled for a moment, then slid helplessly to the ground, temporarily losing consciousness.
