Chapter 535, Section 533: The Fear of Ghosts
Chapter 535, Section 533: The Fear of Ghosts
The corridor was bathed in sunlight in the afternoon. Occasionally, the curtains, fluttering in the wind, would sparsely cast a warm, orange glow.
When Justin walked out of the classroom, the young wizards could see a faint blush on his face.
"What does Professor Lupin want with you?"
Hermione raised an eyebrow and asked.
“We talked about Sheen.”
Justin said honestly.
“You…Sheen…”
Hermione frowned.
"Yes, and Professor Snape too."
Justin added.
His gaze traveled through the ivy-covered walls of Hogwarts Castle and down into the dimly lit cellar.
He could almost see Sheen just walking out of there.
“Stay away from Lupin. I don’t want to see you with him anywhere—except in the classroom, Green.”
Professor Snape's voice still echoed in the cellar.
Sheen could understand the reason behind all of this.
He walked silently down the deserted underground spiral staircase, pondering the location of the Blood Man Barrow.
Just now, Pipi Ghost brought an invitation from Blood Man Barrow, but didn't bring information about Blood Man Barrow's whereabouts.
Just then, a group of gray-white figures broke through the wall and half of their bodies emerged.
“He should be forgiven, he should be forgotten, I say, we should give him another chance—”
“My good monk, haven’t we given Pee-Pee enough chances? Yet he’s given us all awful nicknames. You know, he doesn’t even qualify as a proper ghost—”
A ghost wearing a tight-fitting bodysuit with a ruffled collar said discontentedly.
Sheehan recognized him as Sir Nicholas.
He'll be alright—
"It was a chubby little monk-like ghost," said one of the ghosts.
“He wouldn’t—my good monk, he was just about to seal the castle keeper’s door, and if I’m not mistaken, he was also trying to harass a professor—”
Sir Nicholas was very angry.
“I know that peaceful coexistence and cooperation are the key. Although we ghosts belong to different colleges, we have always maintained a close friendship.”
Despite the fierce competition between Gryffindor and Slytherin, I never dreamed of arguing with Barrow the Blood.
But you see, we don't even know which college he's in—"
That's just because you're afraid of Barrow.
"A ghost said jokingly."
Nick, who was nearly headless, looked as if he had been greatly insulted.
"Afraid? I believe in myself—Sir Nicholas de Minsey-Popington—I have never made the mistake of cowardice in my life! Noble blood flows in my veins—"
"What blood?"
The ghost asked,
You definitely won't have any more—
"That's a rhetorical device!"
Nick, who had almost lost his head, was furious; his head trembled dangerously on his half-cut neck.
“Oh, Nick, you know he’s joking.”
The fat monk quickly tried to smooth things over.
"By the way, you are—"
The ghosts discovered Sheen.
Several pairs of grayish-white eyes looked over at the same time.
So the ghosts howled and fled in all directions like mice seeing a cat.
"It's him—that boy Grimm—run—he's going to send you away—Merlin, even as a ghost, I'm still afraid to run away—"
Sheen heard the ghosts saying this.
He was slightly stunned, not expecting that his image in the eyes of the Hogwarts ghosts was so demonized.
He gently pulled a ghost along—though he could easily slip through Sheen's arm, he seemed too afraid to do so.
“I won’t just send them away casually…” Sheen explained helplessly.
"God—no—"
The fat monk screamed in terror and began to cry.
"You've sent away the ghosts of your Ravenclaws, now you're going to target the Hufflepuff monks—"
"Cultivator—"
Sheen tried her best to make her voice sound less scary.
But in reality, he had no idea what was so terrible about his voice.
“Green, good boy. I know you are the next headmaster, and Dumbledore spoils you—but think about it, how boring Hogwarts would be without us!”
If you don't want to see us, we'll leave on our own after you take office.
The fat monk was clearly terrified and quickly begged for mercy, trembling.
Sheen was speechless for a moment, and he stared at the fat monk for a long time.
I don't quite understand where all those rumors he mentioned came from.
It's understandable that he thinks he sent away the ghost and doesn't like the ghost; but the idea of a next principal is utter nonsense.
"Green, good wizard, I've watched you grow up, how can you bear to send me away?"
The fat monk, with tears in his eyes and a look of resignation, said...
“Brother, Lady Grey left on her own initiative.”
Sheen said.
"impossible!"
The fat monk immediately retorted.
"Oh, of course I believe you, Green, good boy, but this is so hard to understand."
You must understand, only wizards who are unwilling to face death become ghosts.
Sheen knew he couldn't convince the monk immediately, so he silently took out the Pensieve.
Three minutes later.
“Good boy, Green, what a gratifying feat you have accomplished…”
The fat monk wiped away his tears with one hand and sobbed, resting his other hand on Sheen's shoulder.
"We've all misunderstood you, child. Will you forgive me? Forgive a chubby monk?"
“I forgive you, monk. May I ask you a question?”
Sheen breathed a slight sigh of relief and said.
"I will tell you everything I know, my child."
"That's what the fat monk said."
"Where is Blood Man Barrow...?"
This was Sheen's purpose in stopping the monks.
If anyone in Hogwarts Castle knows the location of Bloody Barrow, then the fat monk and his companions, who are also ghosts, are definitely the top choices.
"Barrow? I bet he's up in the Astronomical Tower, humming and clanging away. That's his favorite pastime—"
"That's what the fat monk said."
"Excuse me, cultivator."
Sheen immediately left the corridor.
At the same time, he also understood why he hadn't encountered any ghosts lately.
“Oh, what a good boy. Dumbledore was right to choose him as headmaster. And I have good news to tell you all: those days of fear are over…”
The fat monk grunted and floated away.
Not far away, a group of ghosts huddled together, trembling, staring at the direction from which the fat monk had just let out a terrifying scream, from which he floated out unharmed.
A thin mist hung over the top of the astronomical tower.
Sheen studied astronomy here for a long time.
By identifying the trajectories of planets, one can predict the fate of events.
This is what his centaur teacher taught him.
Now, for the first time, Sheen turned his gaze away from the distant sky.
He saw a robe stained with silver blood, and a ghost wearing shackles.
His chains rattled, and from beneath this tallest tower, Sheen could see the towering Ravenclaw Tower as well.
