Chapter 519, Section 517: Lupin's Letter

The last week of summer vacation.

A light rain began to fall at Hogwarts, but it stopped by the time Sheen emerged from the cellar.

The sky was a clear, light gray, and the grass underfoot was damp and springy.

Sheen walked down the Hogwarts corridor with a gentle breeze, a book with a purple cover and gold trim floating beside him.

Upon closer inspection, you can see six large green patterned characters on the cover:

The Wizarding Chronicles.

What's even more eye-catching is the small introduction at the end of the book cover: Grimm's Book Series.

No British wizard is unfamiliar with this series; its fame is akin to that of Chadley's Cannonballs in Quidditch or the quirky sisters in the entertainment industry.

No British wizard would be unwilling to own a copy of Grimm's Notebooks, the most comprehensive and valuable encyclopedia of magic in the magical world.

If you don't have Grimm's Notes—

Merlin, then you've fallen behind everyone else at the starting line!

Your children, your grandchildren, and your great-grandchildren will all fall behind their teachers because they don't have a Grimm's Notebook!

Hogwarts Charms professor Flitwick publicly stated that this was the best introductory book on charms he had ever seen;

The American Ivorymoney Magic Academy and the African Waggadu Magic Academy purchase large quantities of Grimm's books from Grimm's Bookstore every season...

According to incomplete statistics from The Daily Prophet, on average, every wizard owns a copy of Grimm's Notebooks, making it one of the best-selling books in recent years.

It even surpasses the Tales of Beedle the Bard, which is the bedside book of every little wizard.

As a result, its new series, "The Wizarding Chronicles," the latest book to be pre-ordered by Grimm's Bookstore, has become the hottest new product of the year, with many wizards eagerly awaiting its release.

Unfortunately, the mysterious Mr. Grimm has not announced a release date, leaving wizards to wait anxiously.

Rumor has it that the owner of Flourish and Blotts, under constant questioning and pressure, once attempted to steal the manuscript from Hogwarts, but ultimately abandoned the idea because of a fact that everyone knew:

—Hogwarts is not just Hogwarts, it is also Dumbledore's Hogwarts.

Now, the manuscript of this book floated before the young wizard's eyes. He read it, occasionally frowning as he added words to it.

In the distance, the light rain had just stopped.

Bai Yi arrived from afar carrying a letter slightly damp from the rain. It landed on Sheen's shoulder, raised its head, placed the letter in the little wizard's hand, and with a shake of its head, transformed into a fiery lizard. After running around on the ground, its rain-dampened wings regained their cleanliness.

"Thanks a lot."

Sheen placed Bai Yi into the Wizarding Book. Even through the wooden door, one could see the roaring fireplace and the delicious food on the wooden table inside the Wizarding Book.

He looked down at the book in his hand: it came from Hogsmeade, which wasn't too far away, and the sender was the wizard Sheen had expected.

Dear Mr. Green:

I cannot express my gratitude for your trust and help. The days I spent in the bookstore were the most relaxed and bright days I have had in recent decades.

If you are still willing to take in a hairy wizard, I don't think I have any reason to refuse.

I am writing to you to express my intentions and to ask for your opinion.

Your loyal: Remus Lupin]

It was Lupin's letter.

Sheen had anticipated this.

However, Sheehan was somewhat surprised that Mr. Lupin was willing to stay at the bookstore rather than come to Hogwarts to become a professor.

He knew that Lupin didn't really want to sell books and organize the shelves in the bookstore; he just wanted to repay the kindness he had shown in the past.

So Sheen gently summoned Bai Yi and wrote a reply:
To Mr. Lu Ping:

The days passed like flowing water. I think Hogwarts needs professors more than Grimm's needs for a shopkeeper.

A position as a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor would better fulfill your purpose and enrich your life than here. May you follow your heart's choice.

Sheehan Green

The letter was carried away, and before Bai Yi flew away, she affectionately pecked Sheen's wrist.

Sheen saw the green outlines of distant mountains, and the owl messenger rose and fell in the clouds before disappearing quickly.

Lupin's letter gave Sheehan a new clue. After his third year, Hogwarts would have more guards, and if he didn't want to be kissed by Dementors, he'd better learn the proper Patronus Charm in advance.

Currently, Sheen is not yet able to reliably summon a physical guardian deity; his guardian deity spell remains at the [Beginner] level.

Sheen thought that he needed to be able to reliably summon the Guardian God at the [Expert] level. Only when he reached the Expert level of proficiency would the physical Guardian God appear reliably.

There is also a special saying about physical guardian deities:

The Patronus Charm has long been associated with wizards who fight for noble causes—wizards who can summon a physical Patronus are often nominated as high-ranking officials in Wizengamor and the Ministry of Magic.

Perhaps it's because dark wizards find it extremely difficult to summon a Patronus Charm, or perhaps powerful white wizards study physical Patronus; this explanation has never been wrong.

Sheen's Patronus Charm was taught to him by Professor McGonagall, and he is now heading towards the Transfiguration office.

Fortunately, his shrinking potion had just arrived at the [Expert]'s, and Professor Snape gave him a morning off; otherwise, he probably wouldn't have had time to increase his proficiency with the Patronus Charm.

As Sheen was thinking this, he suddenly heard the sound of arguing.

He stopped silently and approached the armor at the corner of the corridor.

He is the only student at Hogwarts right now, so if a dispute occurs, it can only be between the professors.

who can that be?

"...You should let him go."

It was Professor McGonagall's voice; her voice was utterly authoritative.

"I'm sorry, he can't go anywhere."

The deep male voice made it easy for Sheehan to recognize that it was Professor Snape's voice.

"They will all go."

Professor McGonagall pursed her lips, her eyes sharp.

"Ha, those fools, it doesn't matter if a hundred or a thousand of them disappear..."

"Snape said slowly."

“Mind your place, Severus. You are a professor at Hogwarts.”

Professor McGonagall was very angry.

"I'm sorry, but before this, I might have been the one who signed that adoption order."

Snape refused to budge an inch.

"...There will be no danger. We will all go, and Dumbledore will handle everything."

Professor McGonagall said.

"Dumbledore..."

It would have been better if the name hadn't been mentioned, but as soon as Dumbledore was mentioned, Snape's face immediately darkened.

The wizard he cared for, a wizard who had never suffered any setbacks even in danger, was tricked by that damned Dumbledore and ended up in the school hospital for the first time, suffering the curse of the world's most dangerous wizard.

"It's best—don't mention him again—"

Snape exploded.
