Chapter 516, Section 514: Those Who Cannot Be Deceived
"Stop...stop..."
The voice echoed in Sheen's mind, but it disappeared as soon as Sheen frowned.
I saw your heart, and it is mine...
I see your dreams, I see your desires, and of course... hehe, I see your fears..."
The sound appeared again.
It lingered in Sheen's ears, constantly whispering seductive words.
"fear?"
Sheen paused for a second, looking slightly puzzled.
"You're afraid of me, you're afraid of your own powerlessness. Admit it, you're afraid of the future you've foreseen..."
The voice was still whispering, but Sheen only focused his mind slightly, and everything disappeared.
He gazed ahead calmly, his pupils reflecting a deep, penetrating look.
Fear of tomorrow?
Sheen thought that tomorrow was the day he feared least.
"Why……"
The voice seemed to contain doubt, but soon it lingered around Sirius and the others.
"You killed your brother and caused the couple who treated you like a son to lose everything."
It said to Sirius.
“You killed your master, you fool, you never fulfilled his wish in the end.”
It lingered in Kreacher's ear.
Sirius's breathing became rapid, and Kreacher wanted to bang his head against the wall.
“You are not worthy of your position, Pukch. You are completely unfit to be his assistant.”
The voice murmured happily in Will's ear.
"Mr. Green said that?"
Butler Pukchi looked completely bewildered.
"You foolish fellow, lowly fairy relative, how could you possibly compare to a wizard? You're only useful..."
The voice said with a chuckle.
"Mr. Green said that?"
Butler Pukchi was still bewildered.
"Otherwise what? He probably always thought that way..."
The voice was mocking.
“I don’t believe it. Mr. Green didn’t say that, and…”
Will said, with his neck stiff,
“You’re the fool, wizard. Mr. Green says I’m the smartest butler.”
The voice paused, seemingly surprised that there could be intelligent beings in this world without heads.
He failed twice here today. The first time was because he couldn't understand the little wizard's mind, and the second time was because he encountered something without a head.
At the same time, a flash of light appeared from behind the curtains, and the sword suddenly thrust out, followed by a metallic clang and a long scream.
Sheen pierced the glass of both small windows, Riddle's eyes were gone, and wisps of smoke rose from the colorful silk lining of the locket.
The thing that lived in the Horcrux has disappeared; torturing others was its last act.
"call--"
Sirius was covered in sweat. He exhaled heavily and looked at Kreacher, who was rushing towards the wall and then suddenly stopped.
"You did it."
Sirius turned his head and saw the fragments of the Horcrux and the black smoke.
He felt a deep sense of joy and relief from within:
—A portion of the Mysterious Men has been destroyed! They've won a small part of the battle! If they continue fighting like this…
Sirius's eyes lit up; a beautiful vision called hope took root in his heart.
"Young Master Regulus—"
The house-elf let out a terrible scream as he looked at the destroyed locket, tears soaking his tattered clothes.
Why are you so sad?
Sirius asked, somewhat puzzled.
Sirius was naturally puzzled. Sheen knew that, like many wizards, Sirius wouldn't be willing to understand that Kreacher was also a being with sensitive emotions, just like wizards.
“Mr. Kreacher”.
Sheen crouched down slightly and handed him a tissue. He knew that Kreacher was overwhelmed by the huge surprise and joy that turned into warm tears on his cheeks.
"This is for you. Since you are to inherit Mr. Regulus's last wishes, his belongings should also belong to you."
Sheen handed the locket fragments to Kreacher.
So it took them almost half an hour to calm Kreacher down. He, Kreacher, had actually obtained a genuine Black family heirloom, and one that belonged to young master Regulus!
The little elf was so excited that his knees went weak and he could barely stand.
When he was finally able to take a few unsteady steps, they accompanied him to the cupboard and watched him carefully hide the fake locket he used to own in the dirty blanket, assuring Sheen that he would take good care of it after he was gone.
The little elf bowed slightly to Sheen and even gave Butler Pukchi a comical twitch, perhaps as an attempt to pay his respects.
“Young Master Regulus, did you see that…? All your efforts were not in vain. Kreacher saw it. Someone is coming, not a human, perhaps an angel.”
Kreacher's lips trembled as he spoke.
"But it's not over yet, Kreacher still has a fight to fight... Fight! Fight for my master, the defender of the house-elves, in the name of brave Regulus, against the Dark Lord! Fight!"
Kreacher glanced at the little wizard in the moonlight one last time, clutching the white tissue he had given him.
Kreacher had thought more than once that he was probably not the only one who would carry on the young master's legacy...
It must be that the heavens were moved by young master Regulus that such a wizard appeared.
Kreacher saw his master, no longer the former young master Regulus, nor the current fugitive Sirius, but Grimm. Yes, forever supporting the great Grimm, fighting for the same faith and courage as young master Regulus.
……
"Are you leaving already?"
Sirius asked in a low voice.
They are currently in Sirius's room.
This room is very spacious; it must have been quite beautiful before.
There was a large bed with carved headboard, long velvet curtains covering the high windows, thick dust on the chandelier, candle stubs still in the sockets, and solidified candle wax dripping like ice crystals.
The paintings on the wall and the headboard were covered with a thin layer of dust, and a spider web stretched from the chandelier to the top of the wooden wardrobe.
"Yes, Mr. Sirius, please don't forget what I just mentioned."
Sheen said goodbye politely.
"Unforgettable."
Sirius said seriously.
Sheen just asked him to find a witch he once knew named Nagini.
"Then I'll leave it to you."
Sheen nodded and disappeared into the night with Will.
The stars are exceptionally bright tonight, and Hogwarts Castle remains as quiet as ever.
Only the fog, which appeared out of nowhere, obscured the moon and blurred the view. However, fog is common in the Scottish Highlands.
In the dark cellar, on a bed of moderate size, lay the wizard, whose complexion was not very good.
He drifted back into a hazy dream.
Disappointed people always like to dream.
