Chapter 432, Section 430: Confinement
Chapter 432, Section 430: Confinement
"Originally there were three courses, but now I think I can choose all of them."
Sheen's lips curled into a smile.
"You think a wizard's energy—"
Snape was about to make a sarcastic remark when he inexplicably stopped.
"Abandon arithmetic and divination."
He said it in a way that left no room for argument.
"Why, Professor?"
Sheen asked.
"In the magical world, there exist wizards who possess the innate ability to foresee the future."
They can foresee the future through dreams, the shape of tea leaves, tarot cards, or crystal balls.
However, true prophets are extremely rare; the only known prophets are Cassandra Trelawney and Grindelwald from centuries ago…
Snape smirked and said coldly.
"You mean divination requires talent?"
Sheen speculated.
No, divination does not require learning.
Snape scoffed.
Sheen remained silent.
Professor Snape may be right.
He had never heard of Gellert Grindelwald studying divination, or of Professor Sybil Trelawney possessing any good divination skills.
In other words, gifted wizards can make prophecies without learning, while those without talent will find it useless even if they learn.
"A prophet. Of course, ah..."
They are indeed capable of making prophecies, but predicting the future is extremely difficult because the causal relationships of wizarding behavior are always complex and unpredictable.
If you encounter a prophecy, get the hell away from me...
Remember this, Green: if you hate the outcome of a prophecy, forget it.
Fate is a foolish thing.
"Snape said somberly."
"I see, Professor."
Sheen nodded.
Prophecy, in this magical world, is a rare and profound power.
The most striking prophecy here is the one spoken by the Hogwarts prophecy professor:
The one capable of defeating the Dark Lord is approaching… born into a family that has resisted him three times, born at the end of July… The Dark Lord will mark him as his formidable rival, but he will possess power unknown to the Dark Lord… One of them must die at the hands of the other, for neither can live; only one can survive… The one capable of defeating the Dark Lord will be born at the end of July…
"You'd better do that..."
Professor Snape was silent for a while.
He seemed to have thought of something else, another possibility.
"This is a wizard's prophecy. Besides, centaurs are also prophets with their own divination system, which is completely different from that of wizards."
Unless you have a centaur teacher who has promised you, through the entire centaur tribe, that you will learn their closely guarded divination techniques, then give it up.
Snape didn't sneer; he was simply stating a fact.
Even as the winter snow melts, the cellar remains unusually cold and damp. This is the underground of Hogwarts, and it always has a cold climate that is different from the castle above ground.
Upon hearing this, Sheen's eyes lit up.
Snape's vision went black immediately.
"You've even been to the centaur tribe?!"
Snape was both shocked and furious.
Those are centaurs, and their reason for killing wizards is ridiculously simple—they don't obey wizarding laws.
“Ference, a centaur, agreed to be my divination teacher.”
Sheehan thought that if he stayed in the cellar a little longer, the unusually eccentric Professor Snape would still know that Principal Dumbledore liked wool socks.
"Sheen Green!"
Snape was furious.
...When Sheen walked out of the cellar, he hadn't even realized that he had survived the storm again.
Professor Snape was acting increasingly strangely, which puzzled him greatly.
The good news is that he has a Time-Turner, which Professor Snape "got" from the Ministry of Magic.
Unlike typical time converters with strict rules, Shin only needed to return it before graduation.
A typical time-twister not only requires an annual inspection by a Ministry of Magic commissioner, but also needs to be returned within two years.
The corridor, with its drafty wind, remained bitterly cold, and the windows of the classroom next door rattled loudly in the biting wind.
Sheehan spotted Hermione and Justin behind a suit of armor.
They saw that Sheen looked dejected.
"Your confinement is over, Sheen?"
Justin felt a little better and forced a smile as he asked.
Sheen nodded.
"But our detention has begun—luckily, Professor Snape didn't deduct any of our house points."
Hermione was sullen.
Sheen soon learned that they had been discovered stealing the potion.
Or rather, Professor Snape was preparing to deal with them.
Sheehan initially thought this was a reasonable confinement, but thinking of Professor Snape's lingering anger, he opened his mouth, but in the end, he didn't know what to say.
"Be careful."
Sheen said.
“Don’t worry, Sheehan. Let Lockhart leave Hogwarts. I think that’s exactly what Professor Snape wants to see… Since Professor Snape didn’t deduct any points from our house this morning, he shouldn’t be too difficult for us now.”
Justin said rather optimistically.
Hermione nodded in agreement.
Sheen paused.
He finally sighed.
……
The next morning, Sheehan learned, rather unhappily, that Gryffindor and Hufflepuff had each lost twenty points.
In the Great Hall, Hermione wished she could crawl into the long table and only stick her mouth out to eat;
Justin looked dazed, as if he hadn't quite come to his senses yet.
"What happened to them?"
Harry nudged Ron.
"I heard he lost twenty points to Snape, but that's not the most important thing. The most important thing is that he was tripled in detention..."
He was still imprisoned in Filch's hands because he used the wrong hand while brewing the potion.
I bet Snape will lose points next time for them entering Potions class with their left foot instead of their right. What do you think?
Ron explained with deep sympathy.
"When did they put them out of solitary confinement?"
Harry was completely baffled.
"Can you imagine what it would be like if you went to Quidditch training this morning?"
They dared to steal Snape's potion ingredients! What's the difference between that and touching a dragon's butt?
Ron was amazed.
Harry was deeply impressed; at least he wouldn't dare to do it.
He would rather face Voldemort than Snape.
Beside him, Sheen held an hourglass-shaped necklace and sighed softly.
It seems that being careful is useless.
The young wizards were buzzing with discussion, but it had nothing to do with Sheehan. He watched as Hermione and Justin recovered somewhat, then left the Great Hall and headed to Hope Lodge.
He planned to experiment with the effectiveness of the time-converter and test whether mind control could be superimposed.
In addition, he looked at an old schedule; he also needed to find Professor Flitwick to learn the Ironclad Charm.
As a former dueling champion, this move is one of Ravenclaw's signature moves.
