Chapter 16.16: Daisy Treatment

Chapter 16.16: Daisy Treatment

There are so many plants on the right side of the greenhouse.
This was Sheen's first idea.
It is also very dense and robust.

This was Sheen's second idea.

Therefore, he clung tightly to the chubby professor's back.
Just in case the professor gets lost in the lush green foliage and can't be found.

Professor Sprout, shovel in hand, led Sheehan briskly between the two rows of planters.
They would also occasionally pinch the plant's leaves.

Smell the petals of the plant.

"This is the Bubble Pod area. Once we get past this area, we'll be in a place where we can really show off our skills."

Professor Sprout's voice was a bit loud, but it wasn't noisy; on the contrary, it was reassuring.

Bubble pods?

Sheen looked closely at the vines of varying thickness, which bore plump, pink pods.

Inside are shiny beans.

Sheehan had seen this magical plant in a book; it was said that these beans would bloom immediately upon contact with a solid object.

"These bubble pods will be ripe soon, and then these planting racks will be filled with bouncy bulbs..."

Professor Sprout enthusiastically explained to Sheehan.

Shin's emerald green eyes gleamed.

Perhaps the greenhouse light was too bright, or perhaps the way the little wizard was observing so intently was simply endearing.

Professor Sprout's steps became lighter.

That's wonderful... New shoots always bring new hope.

This is exactly what Professor Sprout wanted to see.

“Come here, child, let’s take care of these daisies.”

Professor Sprout stopped in front of a large, sturdy wooden platform.

The middle part appears to have been stained dark by plant sap and soil.

Sheen strode forward and saw Professor Sprout take out several pots of daisies from under the wooden table.

If one had to point out any difference between them and those small flowers meant only for ornamental purposes, it would be that their rootstocks are much thicker.

Also, if you buy them in Diagon Alley, 20 sticks cost one Galleon.

It's ridiculously expensive.

"Don't get distracted, watch carefully, you need to start picking the yellow daisies three inches below the petals..."

Professor Sprout deftly cut open the daisy, and milky white sap flowed from the stem.

The professor neatly collected them in a glass bottle.

"The sap from daisies can only be collected at this time of year."

The cut should not be too deep, otherwise it will affect the future growth of this lovely little flower;

It can't be too shallow, otherwise the extracted juice won't meet the standards for making shrinking potions.

The professor explained in detail, then waved his wand, and a small knife and a glass bottle landed on the wooden table in front of Sheen.

“Give it a try, Mr. Green.”

Sheen nodded and picked up his tools.

"Wrong angle, Mr. Green, tilt it a little more..."

"Too light, Mr. Green, be bolder..."

"Oh, Mr. Green, don't cut! The position is wrong..."

Time quickly slipped away amidst Sheen's mistakes.

Sheen quickly realized that he didn't seem to have any talent for herbalism either.

Just as he failed for the fifteenth time and was pondering with a slight frown,
A gentle voice came from beside me:
"Discovering that you have no talent, but still being willing to pick up a hoe, is the beginning of herbal medicine."

Sheen looked up and saw Professor Sprout's face, which was as gentle and profound as the warm sun.

Thus, as Professor Sprout's large shadow began to tilt, Sheehan gradually grasped the essence of handling daisies.

The force, angle, and position are all very important; if you make even the slightest mistake, your proficiency on the panel will not increase.

You have successfully processed a daisy using the standards of an apprentice; your proficiency has increased by 1.

The prompts on the panel were like heavenly music, and after mastering the correct method, Sheen's enthusiasm was terrifying.

You have successfully processed a daisy using the standards of an apprentice; your proficiency has increased by 1.

[You successfully processed a daisy to a beginner level; skill level +3]

……

The sunlight slanted down, and thirty pots of daisies were neatly stacked. Sheen wiped the sweat from his hair.

His eyes were as bright as the herbalist professor beside him.

“Well done, Mr. Green,”

Professor Sprout clapped softly; nothing pleased her more than witnessing a tender sprout grow strong and healthy.
"Go have dinner, and oh right, take this with you."

Sheehan was given a piece of pineapple preserve, and at the same time, he heard a bell ring, signaling the start of dinner.

Mealtimes at Hogwarts are always fixed; if you miss them, you'll go hungry.

Of course, some young wizards would ask their friends to bring them some food in advance, but Sheen clearly did not make that preparation.

It would be terrible to go hungry at Hogwarts.

With that thought in mind, Sheehan quickly said goodbye to Professor Sprout and headed towards the Great Hall.
If he were feeling better, he would have run there.

"Next time we'll be dealing with some special materials."

Before Sheehan left, Professor Sprout said this:

Sheen saw something that looked like teeth piled on the dark wooden table, and he guessed that these might be it?
……

After the auditorium was filled with a dazzling array of food,

Justin was being scolded by Hermione for not realizing that he also had Herbs class that afternoon, and with Gryffindor students no less.
So when Hermione saw him in Greenhouse Number One
Miss Granger immediately flew into a rage.

"Did you do this on purpose?!"

"I was wrong……"

Sheehan was struggling with his Hungarian stew and didn't notice Justin's pleading look.

Soon, he was drinking pumpkin juice while checking his harvest for the day.

Herbal Knowledge: Not yet unlocked (59/90)

By processing the daisies, Sheen gained a full 33 points of proficiency.

[Apprentice-level herbal knowledge unlocks the apprentice-level title in the field of herbal medicine]

The title activation is just around the corner; if he makes good use of the remaining time, he might be able to activate it today.

Upon closer inspection, Sheen realized that the pile of teeth-like objects were likely the fangs of a venomous snake.

Although it's unclear why Professor Sprout disposed of them...

But it just so happens to be what Sheen needs.

One of the ingredients used to make scabies medicine is the fangs of a poisonous snake.

The battle had just ended when Sheen left the auditorium.
Justin and Hermione were a little taken aback.

"Sheen!"
Sigh, he walks so fast.
I also wanted to ask him to go to the library with me.
Perhaps he can solve our problem of distinguishing mature white peas.

To be honest, I have absolutely no idea how to write a paper for herbalism class.

Justin was somewhat frustrated; magic was proving more difficult than he had imagined.
Although Professor Sprout asked them to do their best, as Hufflepuffs, who wouldn't want to please and be praised by the professor?

I don't think so.
But the Hogwarts library holds thousands upon thousands of books; we will find the answer.

Hermione shook her head helplessly, but was full of confidence.
