Chapter 103, Section 102: Filch
Chapter 103, Section 102: Filch
Sheen didn't recognize them; he guessed they were second-year wizards, but that didn't stop him from breaking their minor curses one by one.
With Mrs. Lorris breathing heavily and the shapeshifting boar at her feet ready to pounce, the little wizard was caught in a dilemma, unable to advance or retreat.
Seeing their extreme panic, Sheen knew he could make a lasting impression on them and quietly stepped aside.
The young wizards were overjoyed, and one of the wizards even trembled as he promised he would never come again.
Sheen nodded.
The scene inside the office was shocking; a stench could be smelled five meters away.
The walls were covered in mud, and the cabinet had been overturned somehow.
Mrs. Lorris stopped breathing, nuzzled Sheehan's face, and led him to a wall.
With a soft rumbling sound, a fireplace suddenly appeared.
It seems that it was hidden away to prevent the young wizards from damaging this essential item.
In any case, this dispelled Sheen's chill.
Sheen patted Mrs. Lorris's fluffy head again.

Hearing the notification sound from the panel, Sheen raised his wand, but before he could even cast a spell, a person with a thick plaid scarf tied around their head suddenly appeared.
Mr. Filch roared in fury:
"Damn filth!"
His eyes were bulging alarmingly, and the flesh on his double chin was trembling.
"It's filthy everywhere, a complete mess! I'm telling you, I'll definitely report this to the principal!"
At this point, Sheehan felt somewhat at a loss for words, but fortunately, Mr. Filch fell silent for a moment after seeing his face.
Mrs. Lorris jumped onto his shoulder, and he finally stammered:
"Sheen Green?"
“It’s me, Mr. Filch.”
“Ah, um, I mean, okay, thank you, Green…”
Sheehan nodded. It seemed that Mrs. Lorris and Mr. Filch were indeed on the same page; otherwise, he would have been misunderstood.
"Let's go, Green, let's go quickly..."
His anger was still raging, and he chased after them with Mrs. Lorris.
When he returned, Sheen saw his twisted, resentful face.
For a moment, Sheen seemed to have a new understanding of his harshness.
His job is as the caretaker of Hogwarts, responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of this ancient castle.
But think about how daunting it would be to manage the chaos caused by a group of energetic, magical teenagers (like Peeves' pranks, the Weasley brothers' fireworks, and the students' dung balls) without any magic.
His anger and sarcasm were, to some extent, a byproduct of this "difficult job."
But once you leave Hogwarts, where else would be willing to give you a "squib" job?
Sheen pondered silently, then put away his wand and left Mr. Filch's office.
Mr. Filch was left standing there, stunned, upon seeing the office so clean.
"Sheen Green?"
Sheehan heard a voice behind him and turned around. It turned out that Mr. Filch had come out after him.
"Mr. Filch?"
The castle grounds were always hard and cold. When the biting wind pierced through the corridors and cut Filch's throat, all he could see were the bright green eyes of the little wizard in front of him.
“It’s raining outside, damp and windy. Dress warmly, Green.” Mr. Filch stammered, managing to utter only this one sentence at the end.
"The weather will be nice."
He heard Sheen say with a laugh.
For a Squib yearning for magic, this cramped life does not end with the reward of suffering, nor with an operatic grandeur, but with death.
Therefore, Sheen tried to be natural and expressionless. He knew that as someone with magic, he couldn't laugh too loudly, otherwise he would always disturb other people's suffering.
Before anyone knew it, Sheehan had already exceeded the curfew, but Mr. Filch didn't seem to care at all, and even Mrs. Lorris was just munching on a dried fish and snorting away.
"You see, the office, oh, there's a fireplace..."
Mr. Filch couldn't express his gratitude; from the very beginning, he had had enough of those magical fellows.
He loathed them and disliked them because he had never gained a single benefit from magic.
Those wizards either held him in high esteem or looked down on him; he preferred to be hated rather than despised.
But today, he... felt a little hopeful.
"Oh, I heard you've learned some new spells, Grimm?"
“Sir, you can end other people’s curses.”
"Ah, good, very good..."
He muttered to himself as he returned to his office.
Suddenly, as if he had thought of something, he came out holding a crumpled scarf.
"I mean, the scarf, if..."
Shivering slightly from the night's chill, Sheen happily accepted the scarf:
"Thank you, Mr. Filch."
"I mean, of course, you're welcome."
……
The weather was getting worse and worse, and Sheen was naturally getting a bit cold.
Hogwarts uniforms include a sweater, but wearing only a sweater is clearly insufficient to withstand the biting cold wind.
In other words, Sheen's shirt was too thin and too old.
If you throw Sheen in front of the magic mirror right now, he'll definitely see a thick, oversized sweater.
So Sheehan became even more attached to the fireplace. Sometimes Hermione would wonder if he had left something in the fireplace, otherwise why would he be in front of the fireplace all day long?
Staff lounge.
In front of an unsightly wardrobe piled high with teachers' robes, Professor Flitwick chuckled as he watched Sheehan run up from behind two talking stone beasts:
“It seems you’ve learned your spell well, Mr. Green.”
Professor Flitwick waved his wand, and without him chanting a spell, a thick stream of water gushed from the tip of the wand.
"Finite Incantatem! (Curse Stop!)"
Sheen waved his wand, and the water disappeared. Ever since he swiftly resolved Seamus's Clear Water Charm in class, the professor had begun this semi-duel-style examination.
He had gotten used to the professor's sudden spells, and it must be said that this had indeed improved his spell-based combat skills considerably.
At least when the professor gestures, Sheen can understand what kind of spell it is and how to use the spell to stop it.
“Excellent, Mr. Grin. However, the Disillusionment Charm is very difficult. Are you sure you want to learn it?”
Professor Flitwick said in a high-pitched voice.
