The Fourth Calamity never believed in the steel torrent!

Chapter 19 Wait, are you General Vorontsov's son?
"Ula——!"

Hearing the series of running sounds and roars, Andrei turned around and was surprised to find:
Suddenly, a large number of friendly soldiers were rushing towards them, and thick smoke filled the battlefield, obscuring the lines of defense.

These men were panting heavily as they ran, but they still gripped their rifles tightly, each with a bayonet stuck in it, many of which were stained with blood.

"Captain, we've come to your aid!"

"A major leading the charge said excitedly, his face beaming with excitement."

"It was absolutely spectacular! I've never seen such a fierce attack in my life! The Black Hawk devils were crying their eyes out, completely routed!"

Andrei nodded, then shouted to the other soldiers behind him:
"Soldiers, keep charging! We've successfully stunned them and torn a gap in their defenses, but this can't last!"

"They'll soon realize what's happening and surround us here, so we have to break out quickly and get into the woods to the north!"

Upon hearing this, the major, who had just been excited, quickly calmed down and looked at Andrei with an incredulous expression, asking:

"Captain, are you sure you're not mistaken? This is absolutely insane!"

"I thought we were going to launch a counter-offensive, rout them, and then slowly retreat. Why are we going to keep charging now?"

"If we charge in that direction, won't we be getting further and further away from the main force and instead charging into the enemy's main force?"

Andrei knew that his plan was indeed crazy, but his intuition told him that it was safer to take the plunge.

The premature artillery bombardment and the enemies appearing from both sides of the position made him quite uneasy. In particular, the enemy's multi-legged mechs made him realize that ordering the soldiers to run back along the open area would be suicide!

So he simply explained in two sentences:
"The premature artillery barrage is suspicious. I suspect our artillery positions have been destroyed by the enemy, and we are very likely surrounded!"

"The enemy's attack is heading east. If we run back, we can't outrun them at all. Running into the forest is the only way we can survive!"

"As far as I know, there should be a hidden path in this forest that leads to a village to the due north. Once we reach that village, at least we won't be stuck in the enemy's path of attack, and we can continue our breakout along the northeast!"

Seeing that the major was still hesitating, Andrei pointed excitedly to the steel wreckage on the distant battlefield and said:
"Major, there's no time to hesitate. You don't really think our soldiers can outrun those steel monsters, do you?"

"Retreat eastward; the land is all plains. If this thing catches up with us, we're doomed!"

Hearing Andrei say this, the major finally nodded and agreed, saying:

"Alright, in that case, let's do as you say and break out along the northern route!"

"That damn shelling! Those artillerymen deserve a court-martial!"

Then, he glanced at Andrei's young face and asked with some doubt:
"By the way, Captain, I don't know your name yet. Could you please tell me your name?"

As Andrei gestured to a few flamethrower soldiers, signaling them to hold the trench, he casually remarked:
"Andrei Konstantinovich Vorontsov!"

Upon hearing the name, the colonel's eyes lit up, and he asked with some surprise:
"Vorontsov? Are you the son of General Konstantin Semyonovich Vorontsov? I was one of his old subordinates; I served under him during the Great Northern War!" Andrei blinked, momentarily at a loss for words.

Damn it! He can't remember any of these things now. Who knows if this person is his father or some uncle, or if they are just completely unrelated people who happen to share the same surname?

So he simply and abruptly changed the subject, saying:

"Major, these things are not important. By the way, I still don't know your honorable name, Major."

Seeing Andrei say this, the major assumed that Andrei's pride prevented him from using his father's name to gain attention, so he deliberately avoided the topic and said without much thought:
"I am Vladimir Yuri. I don't have a special surname. After all, I come from an ordinary peasant family!"

Upon hearing the surname, Andrei blinked and couldn't help but glance at Major Yuri's bald head.

Hiss—! Major, I wonder if you have mind control abilities?

Do you think we have a chance to form a complete psychological commando team?
However, Andrei ultimately just nodded and said:
"Major Yuri, you should lead the soldiers behind you to catch up as much as possible. I'll lead my men and continue to clear the way ahead!"

"It's getting dark. We'll be safe once we get into the woods. The Black Hawk soldiers wouldn't dare venture into the woods in the dark!"

After saying this, he led his soldiers forward, letting the players take the lead and continue charging along the trenches towards the edge.

Andrei felt that staying here with the major would only make things more awkward.

It's not just a matter of my own amnesia; more importantly, there's the issue of command.

Andrei had his own ideas, so he didn't want to be commanded by Major Yuri, and his players wouldn't accept orders easily either.

Therefore, he should take the players to the front to fight one-on-one. It just so happens that these people need a strong assault team to break through the enemy's position.

Perhaps because the players had previously acted as the "smoke demons," completely demoralizing the Black Hawk soldiers, their assault proceeded almost without any resistance.

Whenever Black Hawk soldiers saw their squad, they would panic and run for their lives. Even if someone occasionally fired a couple of shots, they were just firing randomly behind them.

Although the players were running around everywhere, their ability to weave in and out of the crowd was simply outrageous, but thankfully they hadn't forgotten their main quest.

The two players sandwiched Andrei between them, protecting him tightly, which made him feel a sense of security.

With a fierce charge, Andrei and his men finally reached the edge of the dense forest and plunged headlong into the tall pine forest ahead.

The other soldiers fired back as they disappeared into the woods, vanishing in the blink of an eye.

Only after all the Cambrian soldiers had disappeared into the forest did the Black Hawk soldiers, who had been driven completely out of their minds, regroup and frantically search for where the enemy had gone.
