Mystery: The Last Shepherd

Chapter 403 Why do you keep looking at Mr. [Chapter Regulations]?

Chapter 403 Why do you keep watching Mr. Temperance?
Lu Ze's words surprised everyone present.

"Mr. Temperance, are you telling the truth?"

"Justice," Audrey couldn't help but ask.

She didn't expect that the information she had was flawed from the very beginning.

"The culprit behind the severe smog is a Sequence 4 'Despair Witch'."

Lu Ze said, "This information was obtained through her spiritual communication, and it is absolutely reliable."

"You killed him?"

"The Hanged Man," Alger couldn't help but ask.

Based on what he learned from within the Church of Storms about the palace infighting, he felt that [Temperance]'s strength far exceeded that of a typical Sequence 5, and killing a demigod didn't seem impossible.

"not me."

Lu Ze glanced at him. "I was only at a standoff with her for a while until a Sequence 3 powerhouse arrived. She was the one who killed the witch, and she was the one who performed the summoning."

A strongman in Sequence 3?
[Temperance] The gentleman sounded very familiar with her.
Audrey thought to herself.

She wisely refrained from asking about the high-ranking expert's true identity and instead continued listening to him speak.

“I learned some unbelievable news through psychic communication.”

Lu Ze said in a deep voice, "The mastermind behind the Backlund smog incident is actually the current King of Loen, George III."

As soon as the words were spoken, there was a moment of silence above the gray fog.

"Oh my god."

Audrey murmured.

Although she had already heard about this from the Blood Cultivator at the party that day, she still found it hard to accept.

How could a king so casually wipe out the lives of tens of thousands of his citizens?
Even more surprised than her were Fors the Magician and Emlyn the Moon, because this was the first time they had learned that the King was involved in the Great Smog Incident.

Is he the king?
The king killed the people of the East District?!
Fors felt a sense of absurdity and shock; she even began to doubt Temperance. Yet, she instinctively felt that although the other person was mad and ruthless, they never lied.

The Queen's royal family, the "Primal Witch," attempts to awaken. The king sacrifices tens of thousands of people.
Emlyn White listened, a growing anger rising within him. Of course, as a vampire with a long lifespan, he had no particular feelings about the nation. His anger stemmed from something else—deeply involved in the Church of the Earth Mother, he, as a priest, used his knowledge of potions to heal many poor people who came seeking help, and also witnessed the deaths of many.

"Damn."

Recalling the tragic state of those people, his eyes turned even redder, and his teeth twitched out.

".Why?"

After a moment of silence, Audrey, the "Justice," finally couldn't help but ask.

Yes, why would the king do that?
"The witch said he wanted to use this incident to drive development and establish a new order," Lu Ze sneered. "I don't know exactly what that bastard is planning."

"Didn't you ask clearly?"

"Unfortunately, the accident happened before I could ask any more questions."

Lu Ze briefly described the situation: a beautiful woman in black robes tore through space, causing the witch's soul to come into contact with the outside world, and she was silenced for revealing secrets.

It sounds like it might be the same person I met.

Klein listened from the side and muttered to himself.

"Everyone knows what happened after that."

"Justice," Audrey said. "The spread of the smog was stopped in time by the Church of Storms, but it also caused the deaths of tens of thousands of people. The royal family officially claimed that Prince Edsack had also been caught in the plague and died. However, the explanation given to the three major churches was that he colluded with the Witch Cult and plotted a rebellion, causing a series of disasters." Everyone nodded silently; this was the version they knew.

"But this isn't over yet, is it?"

"According to the information I received at sea, the Blood Monks launched an open attack on the night of the year's end," said Alger, the Hanged Man.

"Yes."

"Justice," Audrey instinctively glanced at the crimson figure opposite her. "On the night of the year's end, the Blood Monk took control of the Pritz, which was anchored in Backlund's naval port, and used it to bombard the palace."

"After the warship was destroyed, the Blood Monk broke into the Sodrak Palace alone. Surrounded by a Sequence 3, two Sequence 4s, and numerous Sequence 5 and 6 Extraordinary Beings, he forcibly stormed the royal palace, and no one could stop him. He was only brought under control when the royal angels arrived. Even so, he threw his own head into the royal palace, causing the throne to be stained with blood through self-destruction."

"God of Steam... no, Mr. Fool, above me."

"The Magician," Fors thought to herself, her heart filled with both fascination and dread. As a writer, she loved the dramatic plots and intense conflicts, but as a member of the Tarot Club, she knew perfectly well that this extraordinary madman who stormed the palace and dared to defy the entire kingdom's power center was sitting right across from her.

She raised her eyes and stole a glance at [Temperance].

"It's even more amazing than I imagined."

Alger, the Hanged Man, was equally surprised, because the information he obtained from the Church of Storms was not firsthand and was not detailed enough to compare with what Justice, who was on the front lines, had seen. He was shocked by the power of the Blood Monk, who could actually fight against so many powerful figures.

He couldn't help but look at Lu Ze.

During this time, Alger also basically guessed the identity of Temperance.

Just then, someone finally couldn't hold back any longer.

"Everyone, why are you all watching Mr. Temperance?"

"The Sun," Derrick asked curiously.

Being in Silver City, he knew nothing about Rune and Backlund, nor did he know what the royal family was. But what he could see was several members constantly glancing at Mr. Temperance beside him, which he found somewhat inexplicable.

The scene suddenly became awkward.

All three acted subconsciously, never expecting that the usually naive [Sun] would notice. In fact, because they were so caught up in their astonishment, they couldn't hide their true feelings.

"Oh it's all right."

Lu Ze frankly said, "It's probably because they know that I am a [Blood Cultivator]."

"."

The three of them were taken aback by his open admission and were momentarily speechless.

".ah?"

Now it was Emlyn's turn to be dumbfounded.

Meanwhile, in the conference room at the base of St. Samuel's Cathedral.

The surface of the silver mirror shimmered with a watery sheen, displaying the scene of that day to the many officials and extraordinary individuals present.

The massive, rust-colored warship was blasted in two by an invisible slash from high above, but one cannonball was successfully fired, blasting into the royal palace. The blood-red cannonball transformed into a humanoid shape upon landing.

The humanoid's face was a blur.
