Mystery: The Last Shepherd
Chapter 402 Investigation into the [Blood Cultivators]
Chapter 402 Investigation into the [Blood Cultivators]
The meeting was still ongoing, and following the Red Gloves, the Storm Church's "Punishers" also presented their investigation report. Their main focus was on the royal family's objectives and the so-called underground ruins. Unfortunately, their investigation was too crude and seemed to have been discovered and obstructed by someone with ulterior motives, ultimately yielding little valuable information.
Seeing this, Radar Valentine, who replaced the "Singer of God" as the new archbishop, looked slightly gloomy.
“Iconsel, share our findings.”
Archbishop Horamik of the Steam Church then addressed his deacons.
"Yes."
Ikonser quickly responded, unfolding a thick report before everyone's eyes, "Our investigation's main target is that Blood Monk."
The atmosphere in the meeting room changed slightly when the name was mentioned.
There's no way around it; what this guy did was simply too outrageous. He actually stormed into the palace and declared war on the Loen royal family single-handedly. Of course, if he hadn't publicly declared that George III was the culprit behind the smog, the three major churches wouldn't be taking it so seriously now.
"According to the current investigation, the earliest recorded appearance of the [Blood Cultivator] was in the Kapin case."
"He entered Backlund's most notorious human trafficker's mansion and rescued a large number of girls. At the same time, he also devoured a large number of guests in the mansion. In addition, Capin's mansion was suspected of being protected by extraordinary beings, but they were all killed by the Blood Monks," said Ikonser, flipping through the report.
The extraordinary members of the Church of Storms fell silent for a moment, for this was a case they were in charge of. Lord "Singer of God" had arrived a little late and had not been able to capture the Blood Monk at the outset.
"Based on this, we speculate that he is very likely an Extraordinary being of the Mystic Path. And a series of subsequent events also indicate that he is most likely a Sequence 5 Shepherd."
"shepherd?"
At this moment, one of the Storm Church's "Punisher" squad leaders frowned. "He belongs to the Aurora Society?"
"No, quite the opposite, Blood Cultivators and Aurora will be mortal enemies."
Ikonser shook his head. "The subsequent Lanius case proves it. This fraudster carried the offspring of the true creator within him, a crucial tool for that evil god's descent into the world. After Lanius escaped the Night Watchers' pursuit, the Blood Monk intercepted him and killed him. There appears to be another person assisting him at the scene, leaving tarot cards on the ground."
Across from him, Leonard slightly raised his head.
He suddenly remembered something: shortly after that, the Aurora Society began searching for an organization that worshipped the Fool, and the Fool happened to be the first card of the Major Arcana in the Tarot.
“It is a wonder that a shepherd does not believe in a real Creator.”
One official remarked, "Is this even possible?"
"Theoretically speaking, it is possible."
Saint Anthony spoke calmly, offering no explanation, but instead looking at Iconsel, gesturing for him to continue. The latter had no choice but to continue reading the report, detailing what the Blood Monk had done afterward, and the events suspected to have been committed by the Blood Monk.
"It sounds like this blood cultivator, despite his extreme actions, still retains a simple sense of justice."
Bishop Saint Anthony of the Church of the Night commented with a smile, "Those who are usually our enemies are the Aurora Society, demons, and other evil extraordinary beings."
"Yes, a non-extreme person wouldn't do such a thing."
Horamik said.
He lowered his head and pondered for a moment, then asked Iconsel, "Why did he do this?"
"According to the accounts of the survivors of the palace at the time, the Blood Cultivator was seeking revenge for the dead. He seemed to believe that the culprit behind the great smog was... the one on the throne."
Iconsel replied cautiously.
"We haven't found any information about him, so why is he so certain? And even willing to launch an attack on the palace for the sake of innocent people?"
Horamik said.
"I don't know that."
Try asking '2-111'.
Horamik said, "Ask it if there's an organization behind the [Blood Monk] providing him with information and what his true purpose was in breaking into the palace." Huh?
Ikonser looked around. The meeting room was not only filled with members of the Steam Church, but also with colleagues from two other churches. A wave of fear washed over him; he felt he was about to lose face in front of everyone.
"Yes"
But he couldn't disobey the archbishop's orders, so he had no choice but to grit his teeth and accept them, picking up the magic mirror Arodes and proceeding with the increasingly familiar process.
When the magic mirror began to steam, he asked:
"Your Excellency Arodes, my question is, is there someone providing information to the Blood Monk?"
On the two silver mirrors, which seemed to have eyes, the water shimmered and quickly formed a picture:
Lu Ze was on the verge of death, standing on a street in the East District shrouded in thick smog. A stunningly beautiful woman in a white robe stood opposite him, surrounded by a terrifying black iron-colored fog.
"It's the Despair Witch of Sequence 4, the direct culprit behind this severe smog."
Someone whispered.
The Witch of Despair, her face filled with terror, stared at a figure behind Lu Ze. She tried to escape, but was immediately covered in blood and died.
"To be able to kill a Sequence 4 witch so easily, the opponent must be at least a Sequence 3 powerhouse."
Archbishop Valentine commented.
The image quickly disappeared, and Ikonser immediately tensed up, awaiting the interrogation that was about to begin.
Suddenly, a line of bright red words appeared on the mirror:
Do you know what it feels like to be ignored by someone you care about?
Arrodes' question wasn't sharp enough.
Iconsel was surprised but also relieved, and immediately nodded, "I know."
"Congratulations, you got it."
Weak, white characters appeared on the mirror.

Above the gray fog.
After the transaction is completed, the real highlight, the free exchange session, is about to begin.
"Mr. Temperance, I want to know more about what's behind the smog event."
"Justice!" Audrey immediately looked at Luze and said, "What price do you want me to pay?"
"No need for any price."
Lu Ze chuckled, "I just don't know where you want to start?"
"I'm not sure about the information gap between us, so how about I tell you what I know first, and you can add to it?"
"Okay."
Lu Ze remained noncommittal.
The other members present became extremely interested. The Hanged Man, the Magician, and the newly joined Moon all secretly pricked up their ears. Even Klein wanted to hear the inside story he didn't know.
"It all started when the witch Triss Chick met Prince Edsack."
"wrong."
[Justice] As soon as the story began, Lu Ze retorted, "Triss was specially assigned to Edsack after the Witch Cult communicated with the royal family."
