Chapter 65 Twin Elves
He carefully read the theory about the Patronus Charm in the book, and after he had almost understood it, he began to try to chant the spell.

"Call the gods to protect you!"

Does the Patronus Charm require something besides happy memories?
"Patronus Charm, protect..." Dui's eyes lit up.

The Patronus Charm contains the word "protect", so when casting the spell, in addition to happy memories, one must also have a firm will to protect.

However, the book only stated that one needed to recall happy memories when casting a spell, which led him to overlook this obvious problem.

Having found an idea, Dui cast the Patronus Charm again without hesitation.

Many happy memories kept flashing through his mind, some from his previous life and some from this life.

Then he thought of what he, Bilbo, and Gandalf were about to face, and a strong desire came over him, a desire to keep himself and the people he cared about alive.

Silver mist gushed out from the wand, more and more, covering Dui's surroundings in white.

Finally, the silver mist condensed into a large silver-white bird, flapping its wings and circling around Dui, releasing positive energy and making people feel hope and happiness around it.

"Is this... an owl?"

Dui looked at his patronus in some surprise.

Those big eyes and unique ear-shaped feathers make it look exactly like an owl.

As soon as Dui stretched out his hand, the owl guardian flew down and landed on Dui's arm. It was weightless and rubbed his face affectionately, looking very smart and lively.

"What a wonderful magic!" A voice came from behind Dui.

Dui turned and saw two young elves approaching.

They were handsome and looked exactly the same, with the same black hair. Apart from the headbands on their heads, one was gold and the other was silver, it was almost impossible to tell them apart.

The two elves looked at the silver-white translucent owl in Dui's hand with admiration and amazement.

"Guests from afar, we are the sons of Elrond."

The elf wearing a golden headband spoke.

"I am Elrohir."

"This is my brother Elladan."

Elladan, wearing a silver hoop on his head, nodded to him politely and gracefully.

These were the twins of Elrond? The only twin brothers among the Elves?

Dui didn't expect to see them so soon, and nodded in greeting.

"Greetings to both of you. I am Wizard Doyle from Weathertop."

"I have heard of your name, Duir the Black," said Elrohir, smiling. "Tales of your deeds have spread across the wastes. You are the feller of Huorn's trees, the slayer of the Barrow-wights, the slayer of ogres, the enemy of the Orcs, and the one who restored the once-destroyed Tower of Amon Sul to its former glory atop Weathertop in a single night."

"Such a great achievement is even known among us elves."

“This rumor is too exaggerated.” Dui smiled helplessly. “No need to be so modest, Wizard Dui.” Elohir disagreed, his blue eyes seeing through everything. “I can sense that your achievements are not false, and this is something to be praised.”

Is it true that he is the son of Elrond? Such keen insight.

Elladan on the side was interested in the wand in Dui's hand.

"Wizard Duyle, the staff in your hand is different from those of other wizards I have seen. Can you satisfy my curiosity?"

"This is a magic wand. It's different from the ones Gandalf and the others have."

Dui explained, and as he looked at the two of them, he became curious.

I wonder if the elves can use his magic wand?
As far as he knew, although the elves were a magical race, their magic was more reflected in the creation of items with magical powers such as the Silmarils, the Three Rings of Elf, and the forging of elven swords such as the Sword of Smiting, the Sword of Beast Bite, and Bilbo's Dagger.

Only high elves like Elrond and Galadriel, who are experienced, have accumulated powerful strength and a deep understanding of magic over the long years, can cast powerful magic.

Most elves cannot cast spells directly like wizards, but choose to fight with weapons such as swords, bows and arrows.

In other words, the magic of elves is more manifested in their superb physical fitness, as well as their deeper understanding of the world and nature, and insight into the essence of all things.

So, out of curiosity, Dewi handed the wand to Elladan and taught him the simplest spell.

"Lumos!"

Elladan waved his wand and whispered an incantation.

As the three of them watched, a faint white light emerged from the tip of the wand.

The faint light seemed insignificant, but it made the three of them open their eyes wide instantly.

"I succeeded!" Elladan said excitedly.

As young elves, Elladan and his companions had little experience and did not have a deep enough understanding of the world and nature. Naturally, they could not possess the powerful power to summon a flood like their father Elrond.

Now that he successfully cast a spell for the first time, it was an extraordinary experience for him.

Then Elrohir also tried it with his wand and succeeded in making the tip of the wand light up.

“What a fantastic experience!”

"It's a pity that this wand seems to be somewhat resistant to us, making it difficult to cast spells."

Elrohir returned the wand to Dui with some reluctance and said.

Dui was no less surprised than the other two at this moment. He didn't expect that the two elves could actually successfully cast a spell with his magic wand.

This means that these elves have the ability to cast spells if they have the corresponding magic wand.

It is even possible that these elves will suddenly transform from warriors into mages.

Thinking of this, a picture instantly appeared in Dui's mind: on the battlefield, the elves waved their magic wands in unison, shouting spells such as "Disarm Your Weapons" and "Petrify All", and defeated the opposing Orc army.

Dui quickly shook his head and couldn't think about it anymore.

This painting style is really weird and doesn't fit in with the Central Plains elements at all.

"It is indeed a big surprise!" Elrond took a breath and looked at the figure in the distance with admiration.

"It seems I need to have a formal conversation with this young wizard."
