Chapter 91 Mystery in the Tomb
Springfield, the capital of Illinois, is a very beautiful agricultural city and industrial center.

The city is famous because it produced America's greatest president, Abraham Lincoln!
Illinois is also famous because of Lincoln; the state's motto is "Land of Lincoln."

The most famous thing in this city is all the buildings related to Lincoln, which is also the most popular place for thousands of tourists to visit, to pay homage to the president and to pass on his deeds forever.

But today, this peaceful city has been visited by a group of uninvited guests.

The person in charge was Barron, the deputy director of the Special Affairs Bureau and the youngest son of the blond-haired man.

Beside him was Director Gao Simmons, who was there specifically to handle matters.

They arrived here with the executive order from the Golden Retriever, and instead of meeting with local officials, they went directly to the Lincoln Cemetery on the outskirts of the city.

"Chief Barron, you stay here to coordinate the team and wait for Mayor Dutton of Springfield. I'll take some men over to check on him!" But after arriving here, Gao still chose to let Barron stay.

There was no other way; after all, this involved contact with the supernatural. If anything were to happen to this young master, they would probably have to commit suicide with two bullets to their heads.

Baron wasn't the kind of arrogant young nobleman who would have been personally mentored by the blond-haired man. He nodded slightly, "Go ahead, everything is up to your judgment!"

He delegated power directly to Gao, which made this director, who had risen through the ranks, look at him with more respect.

Then, Gao led the new agent, Chris Lane, into the cemetery—Austin was too busy investigating the werewolf incident to come, so he recommended Chris, a very active officer in the NYPD, to his old superior.

After Gao reviewed some information, Chris became an agent of the Special Affairs Bureau and was transferred by Gao to be his assistant.

Besides them, there were also many other support personnel, all of whom were skilled individuals directly drawn from the FBI, CIA, NSA, and IDS. They had cleared the cemetery of visitors and were waiting for Gao to enter.

On the way in, Gao asked Chris about yesterday's events, "I heard you went to the Lincoln Memorial yesterday, did you find anything useful?"

Chris shook his head. "Sir, we didn't find anything in the memorial hall that resembled General McDowell's records. In fact, we found nothing!"

He even began to doubt whether the story was truly an isolated incident. "I don't know if it's because we went to the wrong place, or if this kind of thing requires specific people or prayers to be revealed!"

Gao thought this guess was reasonable. "Didn't the diary say that the Vatican has cleaned up all the archives? They seem to be intentionally hiding something extraordinary!"

He sighed and said regretfully, "Unfortunately, neither Sir Lyon nor Mr. George are members of the Holy See and cannot answer such questions for us. And the bishop of Trinity Church does not know as much as Professor Thomas!"

They certainly didn't think the supernatural was fake; they just regretted that far too much of their historical data had been lost.

The two stopped talking, as they had arrived at Lincoln's grave.

A 30-meter-high granite obelisk stands in Lincoln Cemetery, the largest monument in Springfield.

Beneath the granite of the monument lies Lincoln's tomb, where the great president has lay for 160 years.

The two stood there, and soon, the agent brought a message: "Sir, nothing has happened here recently. The only incident occurred 150 years ago when a tomb raider broke in and then went inexplicably insane, with burn marks on his body!"

The agents handed them a document, showing them this ancient historical record.

"One hundred and fifty years ago?" Gao muttered to himself, "Does this reveal something?"

Chris couldn't hold back any longer. "Sir, we got that special prayer for expelling the abyss from Professor Thomas. Since this prayer can unlock General McDowell's notes, is it possible that we might find something here as well?"

Upon hearing this, Gao nodded. "That's quite possible! Then let's invite our priests over!"

The two left, and soon a group of local Catholic priests, deacons, nuns, and monks arrived at Lincoln's grave.

Lincoln was actually a man with close ties to the Papacy, after all, his name was "Abraham," which is the name of a saint.

And now, at his grave, a group of Vatican monks are chanting a special prayer:
"In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit! O Watcher of James's Ladder,

Please look upon this land tainted by the blood moon—

"Lucifer's Fallen Mars!"
The covenant you made by biting Cain's teeth,

Now it is branded through by the supreme triple holy name!

"The spiderwebs of the abyss will surely crumble in the scorched smoke of the burnt offering!"

……

Inside the cemetery, atop the obelisk, Bai Yang nodded approvingly as he watched their chanting.

"As expected of a Catholic country, even their chanting sounds quite professional. Although I wrote this set of prayers, it's definitely easier to gain people's trust!"

They would be suspicious of things that appear spontaneously, but now, with the emergence of chanting, it means that these people are actively seeking "ritual correctness."

These rituals make them feel that they have paid a huge price, and that what they have gained through that price should be more credible.

Humans always tend to think that what they strive for is more real and more important.

This was originally Bai Yang's plan. Lincoln's identity is that of a "vampire hunter." If they didn't make some noise, how could he revive a real vampire?

So, Bai Yang left a special "activation mechanism" at the entrance of the tomb, and then slowly walked into Lincoln's tomb and came to the special coffin.

Looking at the long-decayed skeleton in the tomb, Bai Yang gently stroked the coffin. The skeleton disappeared, leaving only the clothes.

A mysterious aura permeated the space beneath the coffin, making the otherwise ordinary space even more enigmatic.

With a slight lift of his hand, a tree branch, a piece of paper, a wooden mask, and a cylinder appeared above the coffin.

Divine power was infused into it, and the tree branch became a walking stick, the paper became a parchment scroll, the wooden mask was plated with a layer of silver, and the cylinder gradually took on a brass-like luster.

As Bai Yang gestured, the four objects automatically merged into the lower part of the coffin, into a hidden door that required a special activation method to open.

After doing all this, Bai Yang slipped out of the tomb and buried a lead box about five miles away. Inside the box was a special item sculpted with three points of divine power, which was also his "surprise" for the group of pursuers.

In fact, he is becoming more and more like a god. He didn't plan everything; he just planted hooks for this group of people at key points.

If they know how to exercise restraint and remain calm, they will gain enough from the tomb of this great president to cope with future crises.

However, if they harbor even the slightest evil thought, they will unleash something even more terrifying!
"This will be a test of humanity, a struggle of desire, and everything will depend on your own actions!" Bai Yang said with a smile. The test of humanity is also an inevitable part of the interaction between gods and humans!
At this moment, Alvin appeared beside Bai Yang and said slowly, "Your Majesty, the revision of history is already underway. The true historical records already exist; you have merely added hidden historical facts to them!"

Upon hearing this, Bai Yang laughed, "You've finally figured it out, Alvin!"

"We never lie, because what we say is the truth!"

"We have never rewritten history; we are simply returning lost historical materials to the world!"

"We will not destroy the world. Whether it is good or evil, gods or demons, they are all part of the world. We are just trying to restore the world to its original state!"

"Then, let's hand the stage over to them and leave for now!"
