From the God of Lies to the Lord of All Worlds

Chapter 65 Analysis and Covetousness

Chapter 65 Analysis and Covetousness

In fact, after Leon Rankoch appeared in prison and underwent significant changes, New York Police Commissioner Stephen had already received information from the surveillance department.

After all, Rikers Island Prison, as the most important, chaotic, and densely populated prison, has always been notorious in the city.

It is precisely because of this that successive mayors and police chiefs have paid special attention to this prison, and in this day and age, it is even under special surveillance.

The police officer who checked the prison surveillance footage was none other than Chris Lane, the trainee officer who discovered the Remus crisis!
After the young policeman rushed into the duty sheriff's office and told him the news, Stephen Collins had already rushed out of his house and gotten into the police car within five minutes.

He didn't care about sleep or work hours; what right did the police have to care about that?
Ten minutes later, Stephen had already informed the mayor and the governor. As for the blond guy in the north, naturally, he needed to be informed by the two big shots.

That's something for the future.

As high-ranking police officials entered the conference room, Chris, who was hosting the meeting, appeared somewhat nervous.

He truly hadn't expected the chief to think so highly of him, entrusting him with explaining tonight's story to the entire police department and even to the bigwigs of New York.

In addition to high-ranking police officials, all the top officials from New York City and New York State were present.

They looked at Stephen together, hoping the chief would give them a reasonable explanation: why had he called them here at four in the morning?
"Officer Ryan, play the surveillance video from Rikers Prison!" Stephen waved his hand and said, "I contacted a professor at St. John's University's theology department; he should be here soon. Play it first!"

Upon hearing this, Chris nodded and played a video of Leon's resurrection.

The attack was a deadly move, and everyone who saw it was stunned!
Many people even stood up, staring in astonishment at the man who was slowly reviving in the white light.

“Leon Ranchoche, a member of the Ranchoche family, a New York Mafia family, and the only survivor of the family!” Chris read the newly received information. “He died at Rikers Island prison at 14:28:56 PM yesterday and was resurrected at 3:43:01 AM!”

The scene shifts to Leon entering the prison building, where he takes down the police officers one by one and kneels on the ground in prayer.

"He possesses a certain degree of mental manipulation ability, capable of inducing pain in others, and also seems to gain power through prayer, possibly praying to God!"

Upon hearing this, everyone became restless. They looked at each other, gazing at Chief Stephen, hoping he would say something.

"These are all true. They just happened at Rikers Island prison. The other party is still in the prison building's storage room and hasn't come out yet..."

Chris received a notification in his earpiece, so he turned on another screen, which showed an extremely excited old man!

Someone present recognized him: Thomas Franklin, the renowned theologian, bishop, and professor of theology at St. John's University!
"Thank God, a chosen one has emerged from your prison!" Professor Thomas's first words were a blow to everyone.

Stephen asked with some curiosity, "Professor Thomas, are you saying that this resurgence is really related to God?"

Thomas exclaimed loudly and excitedly on the screen, “Of course! This is the Lord’s warrior! Didn’t you see the glory? Didn’t you hear the hymns of His resurrection?”

"And his kneeling prayer, his accurate address to the Lord and his reverence for Him—these are all proof!"

"Most importantly, he truly received strength from the Lord! He is not one of us who pray; he is God's chosen one!"

Professor Thomas, a lifelong believer in God, was overwhelmed with excitement, feeling a wave of blissful dizziness wash over him. Previously, trying to persuade people to believe in God had required a tremendous amount of energy, time, and money, and even then, the recipients might not necessarily believe.

Now, none of that is needed anymore. This video is the best miracle to expand the faith!

Compared to this pure professor, the rest of the people had much more to think about.

They gazed at this special "chosen one," contemplating their next steps.

Fortunately, news from California has been gradually arriving. They know better than Professor Thomas that, let alone the chosen ones, the West Coast is almost ready to gather both "prophets" and "saints"!

That's why they digest information quickly, have a foundation for acceptance, and are therefore able to acquire this information more rapidly.

However, as the video appeared and played rapidly, everyone in the conference room felt like they were on a rollercoaster, arriving at a terrifying moment!
The scene shows Remus, a notorious criminal, attacking and killing the warden while facing concentrated fire from prison guards.

The trial of Warden Angelboda was also on the table, but the crowd remained indifferent to the outcome, as if it were none of their business.

Instead, Stephen asked Professor Thomas, "Professor, can you determine what kind of power he possesses?"

Professor Thomas frowned. "Almost all the great demons possess this ability, whether it's fire, shapeshifting, or making people tell the truth... it's one of their basic abilities!"

Someone in the police station said, "That devil Remus has clearly become stronger again! When he was on Wall Street, he didn't have this ability to transform into the Mist Wolf..."

They all remembered Remus's strength and knew that he could still be injured by sniper rifles, but now the opponent clearly had the ability to be immune to such weapons, which left everyone speechless.

If that's the case, doesn't it mean they won't be able to get rid of this monster who keeps naming out Veterans Affairs employees?
At that moment, Professor Thomas shouted, "The messenger of the Lord will not let the devil have all the glory!"

This theology professor had absolutely no sense of propriety befitting a professor; he was like a fanatic, shouting, "He will definitely stop this demon! It's his mission!"

Before the words were even finished, the knight and the demon collided with a deafening roar!
The booming sounds of their battle made the screen tremble slightly, turning the faces of all the audience members in the conference room pale!

It was at this moment that they truly felt the threat posed by the "extraordinary".

That's the ability to bypass all the army and bodyguards, get to them, and kill them.

It also allows them to exert power far exceeding that of humans and to arbitrarily decide the life and death of others.

But more importantly, they determined that the source of this power truly came from the "Lord" and God whom the church believed in, revered, and worshipped!
That means that this power is attainable, and it has already been proven!

A feeling called "belief" spread among everyone; they all believed in it, and that's what the threat of death brings!
“No wonder almost all theologians, bishops and pastors from California have been invited away recently…” someone said quietly, but because the room was too quiet, everyone heard it.

Now, many people no longer concealed their gazes and looked directly at the screen in front of them, at Professor Thomas Franklin!
Isn't there a theologian right in front of us? If we get his help, regardless of what we gain in the future, at least we won't miss the ticket to the extraordinary, right?

At the very least, they can avoid offending the church or those existing deities, right?
Everyone thought so, and the light in their eyes even frightened the old bishop.

But he soon had no time to be afraid; an even greater crisis was unfolding on the screen in front of them!
