Chapter 40 Divine Power as Hell
"It really is just one person!" When all the military and police arrived at the scene, they found that the orders they had received were indeed correct.

In their orders, they knew they were tasked with fighting a supervillain who wielded "wind" in order to protect their city.

Upon seeing their arrival, the man who had been in the wind slowly floated out and came to stand before them.

In an instant, countless snipers, tank launchers, and artillery aiming devices were all aimed at him.

After all, this is their first time confronting the extraordinary, so they can't be too careful.

However, they also saw that the tornado had stopped moving forward, so Joris raised his hand, signaling everyone not to attack for the time being.

Then, facing this unusual "person," he shouted, "What do you want to do? Invader? You are invading our country!"

"Intruder? Hahahahahahaha!" The man seemed to have heard something extremely funny, and he laughed loudly, his laughter deafening, even causing some of the weaker people to cover their ears.

Even so, they could still hear the sound very clearly!

It was as if the sound wasn't coming from outside, but from inside their heads.

"Your country? Who gave you permission? Sipe Tottic? Tescatlipoca? Or Vizilo Pochetti?" he shouted. "To call yourself a country on the land we created?"

"It doesn't matter anymore. Since the Fifth Sun Age has degenerated to this extent, let's destroy the world again and restart creation once more!"

With a wave of his hand, the hurricane behind him seemed to come alive, taking another big step forward and bringing with it an almost tearing wind pressure as it rushed towards the crowd!

The surrounding wooden houses were torn apart at that moment, and all the planks flew into the sky in circles, becoming the first sacrifice in this battle.

With the other side waving their hand, Gao and Joris knew there was no possibility of negotiation and gave the order to fight!

"Fire! Bomb him down from the sky!"

"Bang!" The cannons of the M1A2 main battle tank rang out one after another, and armor-piercing rounds flew toward the humanoid target as if they were free.

In addition, various anti-material sniper rifles also opened fire, aiming at the man's head and firing a volley!
If this were a real person, it would be a miracle if they survived a fragment larger than 20 centimeters after such an attack!

Unfortunately, this is not a person, but a being that can be called a "god" in every sense of the word.

Therefore, under the illumination of several huge spotlights, everyone could clearly see that the man simply waved his hand, and all the attacks in front of him stopped.

The bullets and shells were all hovering around him, and under the light, they seemed to serve as a backdrop to him, even leaving many soldiers stunned.

They began to wonder if this was really a "superpowered criminal" rather than a real "god"?
It's just that the distance is too far to see the specific image clearly; otherwise, there would probably be many more guesses.

However, this stagnation is only temporary and will eventually come to an end.

The hurricane howled, and a terrible storm swirled around them, making it difficult for anyone to even open their eyes.

The man waved his hand again, and the bullets and shells flew back into the crowd!
"Oh!"

"Boom!"

"Clap clap clap..."

A series of chilling sounds rang out, immediately catching the soldiers and police below off guard.

These shells and bullets were not specifically targeted; they simply flew around randomly, destroying several armored vehicles, leaving many people lying on the ground groaning in pain, and forcing Joris and Gao to take cover in the tanks next to them.

The destruction came faster and more horrific than they had imagined.

Their all-out attack didn't even cause the opponent's eyes to change in the slightest!

Now, they began to believe that the man before them was truly a god. Because from beginning to end, he hadn't even shown any anger, treating them merely as ants, without even the slightest bit of resentment.

They simply ignored it.

Because they were ignored, they weren't specifically targeted; because they were ignored, they felt nothing from the attacks; and because they were ignored, they felt a deep despair that came from the depths of their souls!

They have contingency plans for when the other party is angry or agitated, which means that the other party can actually be affected by this type of attack.

But it is this indifferent gaze, calm movements, and actions made without any hesitation that are the real killer moves!
That kind of despair, of being powerless to resist, is more devastating than the current crisis.

The gods reside high in the heavens, while below lie wailing, terrified soldiers and police, and Gao and Joris, who have just received a phone call.

“The San Diego naval base has been notified, and two missile patrol ships are heading towards Los Angeles. They can launch missiles at us any second we want!” Gao told Joris.

"Are you crazy? Launching missiles at the city? We'll go to court!" Joris was shocked, looking at this not-so-remarkable-looking man. Are all FBI agents this ruthless?
Gao didn't think so. "If the missile succeeds, we can save the city. If the missile fails, the destruction of the city won't have much to do with the missile! At that time, we'll still have the opportunity to go to a military court?"

Upon hearing this, although Joris was unwilling to admit it, it seemed to be true.

Given the capabilities displayed by the other party, their indifferent and dismissive expression, their utter disregard for everything, this city is probably truly doomed!
"Retreat first! Our weapons are ineffective against them. Let's wait for new weapons to arrive!"

The two made a decision, and looking at the tornado that was almost upon them, they directed the team to run backward.

The man in the sky certainly saw their actions, but just as they sensed, he paid no attention to them, retreating into the wind and continuing to strengthen the towering tornado!

Their report and plans also came to Newland's desk.

Looking at the report and the video footage just transmitted by a reporter embedded with the troops, Nuland looked at the numerous officials around him and said, "They want to apply for the right to launch missiles..."

Many officials were silently shocked: "The divine power is like a prison!" someone exclaimed.

This "god's" performance truly matches their understanding of the "true god"—truly invincible, truly unsolvable, and truly unparalleled!

There was no earth-shattering rage, no terrible punishment; just a simple wave of the hand was enough to create pressure that amazed and terrified everyone.

"Can the missiles really defeat him?" the state chief of staff asked, but received no answer; they didn't know either.

Newland, however, thought of something else: "Who are those names he just mentioned—Sipe Totik, Tescatlipoca, and Vizilo Pochettino?"

“Your Excellency, I know that!” Upon hearing the question, the deputy governor quickly replied, “I looked up some information, and in Aztec mythology, these three, along with this feathered serpent god Quetzalcoatl, are the four children of Ometeotl, the primordial god, and also the four creator gods in Aztec mythology!”

"So he means that no one, except the four creator gods, can stop him?" Newland understood, and he gripped the document in his hand tightly. "Where are Father Angus and the others?"

“They’ve left San Diego and are in Los Angeles in an hour!” the Secretary of State said.

"Then let Gao and Joris hold out for another hour! No matter what methods they use! Approve their request!" Newland gritted his teeth. At this point, there was no chance of winning if they bowed their heads and admitted defeat, so they might as well go all the way!
"Governor!"

"Think about it again! That's a missile..."

The crowd was getting anxious; this was the first time someone was going to open fire on them!
Newland waved his hand, "If you have a solution, then say so; if you don't, then do as they want! We are dealing with gods, not some Tom, Dick, or Harry!"

Speechless, the order was naturally carried out.

Five minutes later, a Tomahawk cruise missile was launched from a missile patrol ship on the coast and aimed at Los Angeles!
A deafening roar shook the world!

It's the end of the month, and you've already used up your monthly pass, right? Why don't you let me use it?
