Chapter 3 The Possessed Girl
"In your definition, is the deception of dreams also part of the God of Lies?" Bai Yang asked curiously, gazing at the rising sun on the horizon.

Alvin nodded and explained, "Yes, Your Majesty, the authority of the God of Lies is the most extensive; almost every authority that can be touched upon bears the shadow of lies."

"Any concept defined as deception falls within the scope of divinity!"

He said with some regret, "That's why His Majesty Higgs used to be driven away or even conquered wherever he went!"

"No wonder, deceiving the sun and moon is something the gods of light will not forgive; deceiving dreams is forbidden by the god of dreams; and deceiving war is a taboo of the god of war..."

Bai Yang suddenly understood why Higgs was in such a terrible state.

This unfortunate fellow, despite his weak strength, holds a divine position that can almost overturn everything; it seems normal for him to be beaten up.

Now, Bai Yang began to doubt whether the unexpected outcome of that divine battle was truly an "accident".

The two main gods chose to deal with this troublesome guy in every sense first.

But this is a parallel Earth, an Earth without gods or even mystical elements. In this world, this authority means endless possibilities.

"It's just a pity that there's too little willpower, so we can't make a big splash..." Bai Yang said regretfully.

"Your Majesty, your idea has been realized, and your true rise to power is just around the corner!" Alvin said with a smile.

He was actually more confident than Bai Yang; this man's ideas were far better than his rigid perceptions!

They had been here all night.

Soon, the sun rose on the horizon, turning the sky and the coastline red.

Meanwhile, in the town of Vespuchi, a very piercing scream rang out!
"Ah!" The piercing scream made the town's sheriff, Franz, instinctively cover his ears.

He was exhausted; it seemed like he hadn't slept at all last night, having a very long nightmare.

But as the town's only sheriff, he had to go out and investigate when this happened.

Fortunately, the place where the screaming occurred wasn't too far from his home, so Franz put on his gear and went straight there.

The town of Vespuchi was quiet today; he didn't see any of the residents who usually appeared on the road as he walked.

This made Franz somewhat wary. He put his hand on his gun and went to the house from which the scream had come.

"Hank? Is that your daughter screaming?" Franz asked.

“Yes, Franz!” Hank was a fisherman, strong and robust, so his voice was full of energy. “Please come in, you might need to take a look!”

The town sheriff is different from the city police; they are the town's main administrative personnel and also residents of the town.

They have a close relationship with the residents and don't have the tense, confrontational relationship that often exists between city police and the public.

Therefore, Franz was familiar with every resident of the town.

He opened the door and saw Hank and Mrs. Hank with dark circles under their eyes. He was slightly taken aback. "You two didn't sleep well last night either?"

“Yes, I didn’t sleep well. I had a terrible nightmare…” Hank replied, then suddenly looked at Franz, as if struck by a sudden thought, “Could it be that you also…”

"Hmm!" Franz nodded with a somewhat somber expression.

If it was just a nightmare, then it was an accident.

But if others also have nightmares, then there's a problem!
“Let me see Freya!” Franz said after thinking for a moment. “What’s wrong with her?”

Hank swallowed hard and said nervously, "She seems... not to be able to wake up!" The three of them walked into the room together. As the door to the inner room opened, Franz saw Hank's daughter, Frey, a girl who had just turned 16, lying in bed sleeping.

But she slept very restlessly, her brow furrowed, as if she were enduring some kind of pain.

These are not the key points. The key point is that strange black mist is slowly spreading outwards from around the girl's body!

Even the well-informed Inspector Franz was somewhat alarmed by what he saw.

He tried to calm himself and asked, "How long has this been going on?"

“I don’t know. When Lucy woke up this morning and came to wake Frey up, she saw her like this…” Hank said with a heavy look in his eyes. “Sheriff Franz, is Frey sick?”

He was obviously lying to himself when he said that. Anyone would know that no disease could possibly cause such a result.

Franz shook his head. "This doesn't look like she's sick. Pick her up and let's go to church!"

"Perhaps Father Angus knows something!"

Franz felt that this particular situation was very similar to the "demon possession" he had seen in movies.

If this were a stranger or a thug, Franz would have already opened fire.

But the one who caused the problem was Freya, the girl he had watched grow up, so of course he couldn't do that.

After thinking it over, the only person in the whole town who was involved in such a thing was Father Angus!

So the three of them quickly carried the girl on their backs and headed towards the church.

The town was indeed very small; even on foot, they reached the church in ten minutes.

At that moment, Father Angus, who had just awakened from his dream of light, also happened to push open the church door.

"Sheriff Franz, you're here so early?" Angus said with a smile, and then he saw the girl being carried on Hank's back.

"This is..." The priest immediately became serious upon seeing the girl, as an extremely obvious black aura was slowly emanating from her body!
Hank entered the church, carefully placed his daughter on a bench, and, with tears in his eyes, grasped Father Angus's hand. "Father, please save her! She was like this when I woke up last night!"

Angus was about to say that despite studying theology for so many years, he hadn't learned how to exorcise demons.

But seeing the man in front of him with tears in his eyes, he couldn't say those words.

Moreover, he thought about what had happened last night, so the middle-aged priest thought for a moment and took off his crucifix necklace from his neck.

"Lord, is this a revelation from you?" Angus thought silently as he walked up to the girl and pressed the cross closer to her.
At that very moment, the church doors suddenly slammed shut without any wind.

The entire church suddenly darkened, becoming somewhat gloomy.

In this dark environment, the girl, who was already emanating a dark aura, became even more eerie.

The black gas surrounding her seemed to be weaving something, and a nameless fear began to creep into the hearts of several people!
The next second, the black mist coalesced into a terrifying face, which lunged menacingly at the four of them!

"Ah!" Mrs. Hank was the first to be unable to hold back; she screamed and hid behind her husband.

Hank forced himself to calm down, stared at the face before him, and said tremblingly, "You... what are you? Get off my daughter!"

Franz even pulled out his pistol, pointed it at the black monster, and released the safety!
Now they understood; it seemed that this peculiar monster was haunting Frey.

Seeing this, Father Angus, still holding his cross necklace, slowly approached the monster in front of him.

As he moved forward, specks of white light suddenly appeared on the otherwise ordinary silver cross!

The moment these white lights appeared, a look of fear appeared on the black devil's face!
Father Angus's face lit up with delight. "Get off her, you devil!"

One step closer to the cross!
The white light illuminated the utterly shocked expressions on the faces of the three people behind him!
