Chapter 73 The Mage's Hand
The innkeeper, who had been holding an iron ladle and looking menacing, was about to teach these thugs a lesson. Unexpectedly, the ringleader, Jian, suddenly brought up the 'Blood Blade Manual.' Recalling the other party's recent domineering behavior, Jian's arrogance vanished instantly.

Seeing the innkeeper's actions, the gang leader, Jian, instantly became arrogant, like a dog being protected by its master, and said smugly to the innkeeper:

"Khufu, you're smart enough to stay out of the way now. I'll deal with your matter later."

The innkeeper obviously couldn't back down in front of so many customers, especially since this table of guests had just spent 50 silver coins on a meal. If they just left like this, he was afraid his inn wouldn't be able to stay in business. So he gritted his teeth and went up to block the gang leader, Ji'an.

“I, Old Khufu, have been running this inn for so many years, and I’m not someone to be trifled with. Even Bloodblade, the Great Lord, has to abide by the laws of the Empire. Now, you lot, get out of my inn, or I’ll call for help.”

Upon hearing the innkeeper's rude and insolent words, the thug leader, Jian, instantly lost his arrogant expression and roared in his hoarse voice:
"Old man, you're asking for trouble! Who do you think you are? Let me tell you straight today, Blood Blade Boss has his eye on your inn. Hmph, you'd better be sensible, or else~"

Looking at the scarred young man exuding an air of arrogance, Haven rolled his eyes so hard they almost reached the sky. This was utter garbage. This old-fashioned forced sale plot was just using the three of them as pawns to scare the monkeys.

Turning her head, she saw that Serena was still focused on eating, unaffected by any external factors, while little Lori had put down her bread and was looking at her with furtive, puppy-dog eyes.

"Old Khufu, Blood Blade Boss has taken a liking to you... Heh heh heh~"

Under the innkeeper's shocked gaze, the thugs seemed to be suspended by invisible ropes, like fish out of water, their hands covering their necks, their bodies swaying back and forth.

The innkeeper turned to look and saw Havel raise his right hand, his five fingers radiating a faint magical light. Realizing the rich man's identity, the innkeeper instantly collapsed to the ground, muttering unconsciously:

'Oh no, oh no, I never expected this to be a mage! I've tricked a mage, this is terrible!'

Haven paid no attention to what the innkeeper was saying, and instead looked with interest at the group floating in mid-air. He turned to Serena and said:

"See? How about that? Aren't I amazing? I can easily crush a mere mage."

The silver-haired girl turned her head to look, nodded perfunctorily, and continued to immerse herself in the food in front of her.

Without receiving praise, Haven instantly lost interest, and the magical light on his fingers dissipated.

Having regained the ability to breathe, Ji'an and the others lay on the ground gasping for air, like drowning survivors. Their eyes were filled with terror as they looked at the boy not far away. When they saw the boy looking at them, they quickly got up, knelt on the ground, and began to kowtow and beg for mercy.

"Master, we had no intention of offending you. It was all a misunderstanding. We came to see the innkeeper. We are so sorry to have disturbed your meal..."

Looking at the group of people, whose heads were covered in sweat—whether from fear or suffocation—Havent frowned and said coldly:

"Get out of my sight."

Seeing that the young mage intended to let him go, the gang leader didn't dare to look back and scrambled away from the inn.

As the troublemakers left, the atmosphere in the lobby plummeted to freezing point, becoming deathly silent. The innkeeper nervously watched Haven, awaiting the boy's judgment.

"Boss, what's the deal with those people?"

Haven found it somewhat amusing to see the innkeeper looking like a quail.

"Guest, no! Master, those people are just some unemployed vagrants from the town who often do extortion. They wouldn't dare come here on ordinary days."

"Oh, I see~" Heavent unconsciously stroked his chin as he listened to the innkeeper's explanation.

"What's the deal with the Blood Blade Dungeon that the scarred young man leading the group was talking about?"

Upon hearing Haven's question about the Blood Blade, the innkeeper became hesitant and stammered. Just as Haven was losing interest and about to continue eating, the innkeeper seemed to have made a decision, gritted his teeth, and said:

"My lord, it's like this, Blood Blade Ben is just his nickname, his real name is Benjamin. He's just an adventurer from this town, but his sister is the wife of the local sheriff, so people usually don't want to mess with him."

Although I don't know if what Gian said is true or false, it would be troublesome if it is. Over the years, Blood Blade has been taking no one seriously, relying on the fact that the security captain is his brother-in-law.

So, to avoid Benjamin coming to cause you trouble later, you should leave as soon as possible. That way, if he does come, I can just say that you all left early.

Looking at the sincere innkeeper in front of him, Haven forgave the man for treating him like a fool. He was a decent guy, except for being a bit greedy. He wouldn't let Lori order his inn in a little while.

"Oh, I see. It's alright, I understand. Serena, are you full? Is there anything else you'd like to eat?"

Serena, who had already shoved a deer leg into her mouth, suddenly raised her head, her little face puffed up like a hamster.

"Can you make the pasta you gave me the day before yesterday?"

"Miss, I didn't quite hear you. What kind of noodles are you talking about?"

Seeing that Haven and the others had no intention of leaving, the innkeeper stopped trying to persuade them. He had originally wanted to appease them and ease the tension, since he had tricked a mage. But to his surprise, the young girl uttered something he had never heard of before, something like noodles.

Seeing the innkeeper standing awkwardly to one side with his hands clasped, Haven quickly turned Serena's head back and placed the stewed meat and wheat rice he hadn't eaten yet in front of the girl.

"Eat this first. The boss doesn't have this noodle dish here. I'll make it for you when I have time."

"Another meat pie, and a hawthorn soup, please."

Seeing that Haven had no further instructions, the innkeeper bowed and went to the kitchen.

On the other side - the casino was clanging.
"Open wide! Wide! Wide! Wide! Wide! Open!"

"Damn it, you damn pig, what a fucking bad day! It's not working again, let's try again!"

"Hahahaha!! Place your bets, place your bets! Lady Luck is on your side, you unlucky bastards, I'm going to win all your underwear today!"

A dozen shirtless men were gathered around a table, intently watching a gaunt man pick up a dice cup.

As the man violently shook his hands, at the peak of his speed, he slammed the dice cup onto the table with a bang, his face flushed as he looked at the men surrounding the table.
