Chapter 10 Sneak Attack
To avoid the wandering corpses

Haven then led everyone on a large detour to the rear of the ghoul army.

The group rode wildly for half an hour and came to a low slope. Taren rode forward for a while and then rode back.

"Young master, that's about it. This is it. Ride another five kilometers over there, and you'll reach the southern outpost."

Upon hearing Taren's words, Haven dismounted and walked to a large rock.

"Warriors of the White Lion Legion, take a fifteen-minute break and check your equipment."

We are about to launch a suicidal attack, and many people may not see the sun rise tomorrow.

This includes me; our goal is to destroy the enemy's magic circle at any cost.

Once the mission is successful, you are free to evacuate.

Victory belongs to Hailan!!!

As Haven gently tapped his right hand on his breastplate, the guards gathered around him also clenched their right fists and tapped their breastplates in unison.

"We swear to defend our honor to the death!"

South wall of Whiterun
The war had reached its climax, and with the aid of necromancy, the green-glowing ghouls transformed into ruthless fighting machines.

Arrows imbued with fighting spirit pierced through the parched flesh, leaving large holes.

However, the effect was not very obvious. Half of the ghouls on the city wall had already been torn down, their green eyes fixed on the figure peeking out from the battlements.

The deep-seated craving for flesh and blood caused the ghoul's neck to stretch out long.

The soldiers standing on the battlements looked down at the gaping maw filled with black teeth and felt as if they could smell the stench emanating from the ghoul's mouth.

"Damn it, these disgusting things!"

Two soldiers worked together to lift a huge rock and slammed it down on the howling ghouls below. After a muffled thud, the ghouls in this section fell to the ground below the city wall once again. Several ghouls trapped under the boulder stretched out their dark hands and unconsciously grasped at the void.

On another section of the city wall, defensive items such as boulders, oil drums, and explosive bombs have been exhausted, and new ones have not yet been delivered.

Five heavily armored soldiers stretched out their spears to hold back the large ghoul that had climbed up the city wall. The ghoul's breastplate still bore half an insignia of a certain legion, and its corroded, dark green bones made a metallic sound under the spear attacks.

The large ghoul let out a piercing roar at the heavily armored soldier in front of it, its rotting jaw splitting exaggeratedly to the base of its ears, and thick black liquid dripping down its exposed gums.

The close-range war roar stunned the resisting soldiers. Taking advantage of the opportunity, the large ghoul leaped up the city wall and swung its spiked club at the soldiers blocking its way.

In an instant, several soldiers, spitting blood, flew backward off the city wall and landed among the debris below, their fate unknown.

"Back off! All of you, back off! You can't handle this Corpse Punisher. Third squad, form ranks!"

The White Lion squad leader, clad in bright silver armor, rushed over from the city wall, accompanied by six White Lion warriors wearing the same standard armor.

With a loud shout, the White Lion Squad Leader drew his longsword and leaped towards the head of the Corpse Punisher.

However, this ghoul is clearly not comparable to those ordinary farmers who are resurrected after death.

His remaining fighting spirit from his previous life enabled him to display remarkable combat awareness when facing the White Lion Squad Leader's leaping slash.

Instinctively, he raised his wrist to block the incoming sword blade, then swung his spiked club with his right hand and smashed it towards the White Lion Squad Leader.

Fortunately, the White Lion warriors with cavalry shields appeared in time and blocked the spiked club. After a tooth-grinding metallic scraping sound, the White Lion squad leader kicked the ghoul punisher in the chest, and the two sides separated and faced each other.

Southern outpost
Havent and his cavalry had successfully circled around to the rear of the wight army. As they continued forward, they could see wights wandering around the edges.

"Taren, how is it? Did you find it?" The knight commander, who had been scouting ahead, quietly returned with the two men.

"Young master, you were right after all. There is a half-high earthen mound to the right front, and there is a red light there."

However, there are quite a few ghouls in that area; I roughly estimate there are at least five hundred.

After listening to Taren's explanation, Haven was speechless, wondering if he could succeed in breaking through with such a small group.

"Everyone, come here. I'm about to activate the Oath of Hylan."

These are magic scrolls containing the level two spell, Fireball. One for each of you. When we launch our attack, Knight Commander Taren will lead the charge.”

After saying that, he looked at Taren and nodded to each other.

The knights quickly formed a charging formation, protecting Haven in the very center of the group. As the gem necklace was activated, red magic rapidly enveloped everyone, and their morale soared.

"White Lion, advance!"
White Lion, charge!

The small hill that Taren was scouting was only about a kilometer away from the raiding team.

Since the mission is to raid and destroy the enemy formation, the key is to end the battle quickly. Under the wedge formation, Balzama, stimulated by the knights' fighting spirit, quickly climbed to his maximum speed.

The horse exhaled a large amount of hot air from its nostrils, and the ghouls on the edge posed no obstacle to the raiding squad.

Flames erupted from Taren's body, making him look like a demonic rider from hell. He swung his lance continuously, either cleaving the ghouls in his path in two or sending them flying several meters away.

At this moment, the waiting army of ghouls finally came to their senses, opened their mouths dripping with viscous black liquid, and raised their broken weapons to surround the cavalry squad.

Taren glanced at the target hillside; it was still about 400 meters away.

"Everyone prepare, charge up your sword energy and slash, now facing the corpse demons."

He stopped after using half of his fighting spirit, and then launched three rounds of fireball scrolls.

Victory belongs to the White Lion!!!

"Yes, White Lion! Forward!"

As the sword energy slashed out, the assault team was like a hot knife through butter, turning the ghouls in their path into piles of flesh.

At this point, the distance had reached about one hundred meters, and Haven could even clearly see the dazzling magical light ahead from his horse.

‘Dong~dong~dong~’

A heavy thud of footsteps caught Haven's eye; a huge figure was rushing towards him from the left.

"Roar~~~~~~~"

"At this moment!"

A colossal object, about seven or eight meters tall, slammed into the ghoul on the left, sending it flying backward. The footsteps grew clearer and clearer, like war drums, striking straight to the heart.

The next moment, Haven finally saw the giant creature approaching.

Its bluish-gray skin was covered in scars, a terrible and hideous wound slid from its left shoulder to its lower abdomen, half of the hair on its neck fluttered back and forth as it ran, two green flames burned fiercely in its eye sockets, and it had a huge bull horn and a prominent bull face on its head.

"Kalimdor Tauren!!!!!!!!!!"
