Devil's Bible

Chapter 567 Princess

The shepherd felt he understood but not quite.

But he also understood that it was normal for soldiers to break their promises and kill someone like the old witch.

“However, I cannot accept this gold coin.” The shepherd then returned the gold coin.

Regardless, he simply wanted to travel and explore, so he didn't care about money.

Seeing this, the soldier knew the shepherd's simple and honest nature, so he did not refuse. After taking back the gold coins, he gave the shepherd the tinderbox.

"I see you're also traveling. I have no use for this tinderbox, so I'll give it to you." The soldier was very easygoing and enthusiastic, completely different from the ruthless and merciless person he had been when he killed the old witch.

Seeing that the other party had said this, the shepherd did not refuse anymore and took the tinderbox.

It's just an old lighter, it shouldn't be worth much.

Seeing the shepherd like this, the soldier smiled and led the shepherd to the nearest city.

Along the way, the soldier greeted passersby with a smile. He was born in this city and now that he was back, he naturally knew many people.

As a result, many people immediately learned of his return.

Because they brought a lot of gold coins, the soldiers immediately became honored guests at various shops.

In an instant, people who knew him before and those who didn't gathered around.

The soldier was generous and didn't care about such things.

He even invited the shepherds to a meal and drinks together.

The shepherd was blinded by the city's splendor.

However, at this point, he shook his head and refused to drink.

He just wanted to find a wife who would herd sheep with him.

It would be even better if we could find another sheepdog.

With this thought in mind, the shepherd wandered aimlessly through the city.

Then they heard gasps of amazement coming from not far away.

"Look, that's the princess!!" A sudden shout drew the shepherd's attention.

When he left the village, the blacksmith said he could find a princess to be his wife.

Thinking this way, he instinctively became interested in the princess.

He thought how wonderful it would be if he could find a princess as his wife.

With this in mind, the shepherd followed the crowd toward the area where the princess was.

The country they live in is called the Holy Nya United Kingdom.

Beneath this kingdom lie numerous principalities.

The kings of these principalities were also kings, but their titles were dukes.

Their daughter was naturally a princess as well.

Therefore, there were dozens or even hundreds of princesses throughout the kingdom.

The princess who has appeared now is the princess of this local city.

The princess sat on a float, traveling through the city with the procession, surrounded by layers upon layers of onlookers, but she only felt bored.

She was born with an extremely beautiful face, and at the very beginning of her life, fairies came to her door to give her blessings.

However, a witch was resentful and jealous of her presence because she was not invited to the birthday party, so she chose to curse her.

The cursed spell causes her to fall into an endless coma upon contact with the 'spindle'.

Even the fairies couldn't break the curse.

Fortunately, a fairy gave her a blessing: she would awaken once someone kissed her with true love.

It is precisely for this reason that she has never been able to leave the protection of others since she was a child. Even when she goes out to play, she can only stay in the float.

No man is allowed to touch her.

Although she didn't quite understand the connection between spindles and men, she knew she was becoming increasingly bored. Before, when she went out to protest, she could at least derive excitement and pleasure from watching the men.

But now, simply looking at her is no longer enough for her.

She desperately wanted to meet a real man.

This idea drove her to a frenzy.

"If there isn't a living man, a dead one will do," the princess thought calmly.

Meanwhile, on the other side, the soldiers were also hosting a banquet for friends they knew and didn't know.

They also heard news of the princess.

"Ah, I've been away from home for so many years and haven't married yet. How wonderful it would be to marry a princess!" the soldier thought to himself.

Then he went to see the princess with his friends.

The shepherd, on the other side, saw the princess's profile.

The shepherd blushed because of the beauty of her profile.

Meanwhile, the soldier and the princess locked eyes.

In that instant, they both saw longing in each other's eyes.

However, the carriage passed quickly, and the guards beside it strictly adhered to orders, not allowing anyone to approach.

Over the next few days, the shepherd did not find an opportunity to approach the princess.

The soldier spent all the gold coins he had earned and moved from the hotel's luxury room to the attic.

The stairs leading up to the attic were so high that his former friends stopped coming to visit him.

The soldier who had no money wasn't too upset; it was just that the attic was so dark that he couldn't see clearly.

He was so poor that he didn't even have a tinderbox.

In the darkness, the soldier's expression changed slightly; he couldn't help but think of the princess.

So he stood up, groped his way down from the attic in the dark, and headed toward the palace.

"The princess must like me too. I'll go to her secretly. Maybe I can win her favor and become the new king."

"That way, I'll have money again," the soldier thought.

He then put his plan into action, quietly scaling the palace walls and entering the castle.

Because he had been a soldier, he also carried some blessings with him.

These blessings made his infiltration very successful.

Soon, the soldiers arrived at the foot of the high building where the princess was.

He called out softly, "Princess."

The princess, high up in the building, initially thought she was hallucinating from thinking about men so much.

But she soon realized that it was a real sound, so she immediately went to the window.

The princess and the soldier looked into each other's eyes and recognized one another.

Seeing this, the princess chuckled and tore the bedsheets into ropes, then led the soldiers into the high-rise building.

The shepherd woke up in the morning and then began his work.

Because he brought a feather fan, he stayed at a carpenter's shop to do odd jobs, mainly using the feather fan to fan away the wood shavings.

After waking up, the shepherd greeted the old carpenter with a good morning and then began his day's work. He planned to go to the palace in a while to recommend himself to the king and see if he could become his son-in-law.

It was at this moment that the shepherd suddenly heard a large number of guards rushing out from not far away.

"Don't let that man in the soldier's uniform escape! He actually let the princess come into contact with the 'spindle,' causing the princess's curse to activate and she has fallen into a coma!"

The shepherd was utterly astonished upon hearing this, and then he saw the soldiers fleeing for their lives. (End of Chapter)
