Chapter 169 Pick Andrews
Chapter 170 Pico Andrews
With the intervention of the short, stout male wizard, the previously agitated horde of giants actually managed to suppress their tempers. Although they still appeared uneasy, they no longer showed any aggressive intentions and were thus calmed down.
The smaller troll, named Lulu, kept grunting and talking in troll language to communicate with its companions, while the wizard turned to look at Severus and the others with a serious expression.
He appeared very vigilant.
"Who are you? This is the Albanian Wonderland Nature Reserve! Any act of harming these wonders will be considered poaching and you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law!"
Severus took out the note Angelo had given him from his pocket, stepped forward, and asked.
"Are you Mr. Pick Andrews?"
Andrews looked surprised when he heard him call out his name.
"Yes, I'm Andrews, and you are?"
Severus handed him the note.
“Angelo introduced me to you here. He said you have traveled to almost all of Albania’s forest reserves in recent years.”
Andrews initially looked somewhat suspicious, but after taking the note from Severus and reading it carefully, he asked Severus a question with a puzzled expression.
"He said you were his friends and that you could come to me for help. But what about him? Didn't he say he would come to see me one last time before I left Europe? Why didn't he come with you?"
"He was temporarily tied up with another person, and when he got off the plane, he told me that he had other things to take care of in Albania, so he would come back to me after everything was settled."
Upon hearing this, Andrews scratched his head, his expression finally relaxing, and said...
“Well, Angelo said you’re quite famous in England. I’m sorry, I’ve been wandering in the deep mountains for many years and I’m not well-informed about the outside world.”
As he spoke, he extended one of his hands to Severus.
Severus extended his hand and shook it.
"Severus Snape, a novice adventurer, and this man beside him is Remus Lupin, a seasoned adventurer."
Lupin was somewhat exasperated by Severus's explanation, but at least he didn't say anything like that about being his nephew in front of outsiders, so he extended his hand and shook hands with Andrews.
"These two children are Dudley Dursley and Draco Malfoy. They are both young wizards who are not yet of school age. We brought them along on this trip."
Andrews gave Harry and Draco, who were standing behind Severus and the others, a strange look and muttered something.
"I've really never seen parents take young wizards who aren't old enough to go to school out on adventures. They must be really carefree."
Just then, the giant "Lulu," who appeared short compared to the other giants but was still over ten feet tall and extremely robust, strode toward the wizards' location with his massive square feet!
“Pique! Help it! Help it!”
Lulu actually managed to utter a few English words!
This surprised Severus and Lupin, who both understood just how stupid trolls were; the lowest level in the Hogwarts wizarding exams was represented by a troll.
Of course, there have been giants in the magical world who can understand human language, but they are extremely rare, and they are mostly employed by the Ministry of Magic or Gringotts as guards.
The giant monster in front of them, named Lulu, seemed to be even more intelligent than those giant monsters that were accepted and employed by wizards.
"Is this giant creature born intelligent? Just like how there are intellectually disabled people among humans?"
Severus was whispering to Lupin.
"It's also possible that Mr. Andrews taught him. Didn't Angelo say that his cousin was a troll research expert?"
"Not necessarily. The Ministry of Magic also has experts on Dementors. Can they reform Dementors and stop them from sucking people's souls? A troll's brain is something it's born with, and it's almost impossible to change it later in life."
As they were talking, Andrews turned around and made a request to Severus and the others.
"Can you let Jackman go? It likes to take naps outside the valley and has a bad temper when it wakes up. It's like a child who doesn't know any rules. If it has offended you, I apologize on its behalf."
Severus, of course, wouldn't bother arguing with a dim-witted giant. He casually waved his wand, and the iron cage that had been transformed from vines reverted to its plant form. The giant pulled hard, broke free of its restraints, and ran out.
It still looked defiant, spewing out a puff of hot white air from its large nostrils, as if it wanted to teach Severus and his companions a lesson.
But at that moment, the clever giant named Lulu ran over and kicked its rear end with its big foot.
This lesson immediately extinguished its anger, and it simply scratched its bald head, a look of grievance appearing on its ugly face.
After Lulu used a wooden stick to hit and kick it, driving it back into the group of giants, the dozens of giants that had been so aggressive put down their weapons and returned to the valley in twos and threes.
Andrews also extended an invitation to Severus and the others. "Come on in. If there's anything I can do to help, I will."
Severus and his companions, of course, did not refuse.
The four followed Andrews along the bank of the stream into the valley surrounded by four mountains.
The stream converges in the valley to form a small lake, which looks like a mirror embedded between the hills, reflecting the azure sky!
The trees here had long been cleared away by those giants, who then established a simple tribe by the lake.
The troll's tiny head, the size of a coconut, couldn't hold many complex thoughts. The wooden structures couldn't really be called houses; they were just wooden sheds.
Each shed can only hold one giant at most, and is lined with some dry grass to provide them with basic shelter from the wind and rain.
In the middle of these wooden sheds stands a small wooden cabin that stands out from the other buildings.
Although this wooden house can't be called luxurious, compared with the surrounding wooden sheds, it can definitely be considered a mansion in this valley!
Only after welcoming Severus and his companions into the cabin could they truly appreciate just how chaotic a room could be.
Parchments covered with various writings were scattered everywhere, and books, potion bottles, and materials were mixed together and placed haphazardly on a crudely made wooden shelf.
Crucibles, alcohol bottles, suitcases, and scattered tents.
When Severus first came in, they barely had time to put their feet down!
Andrews was extremely embarrassed. He hurriedly raised his wand and waved it at the clutter.
"Sorry! Sorry! I usually live alone, so I'm too lazy to tidy up. Besides, I'm not very good at using housekeeping magic!"
The messy things on the ground flew up on their own under the influence of the spell, but they didn't seem to know where to put them neatly. Instead, they all gathered in one corner and were piled up together.
But at least this cleared out a space where someone could land.
Andrews hurriedly found a few crudely made wooden chairs, placed them in front of the wooden table, and continued to invite Severus and the others.
"Please have a seat! I hope you won't mind. When traveling alone, there's often no other way. I have a lot of work to do and really don't have time to pack these things."
Of the four, Severus and Lupin were naturally unconcerned. Both of them were single men. Severus usually paid attention to his personal hygiene at Hogwarts, while Lupin was used to being a wanderer.
Harry was trying to stop his new pet from eating the leftovers Andrews had piled up in the cupboard, while Draco looked disgusted with the current situation and reluctantly sat down in a chair.
After preparing tea for each of them, Andrews stopped what he was doing and sat down at the table.
"Angelo said you came to Albania for adventure? Did you come to me wanting me to recommend some places to visit?"
Severus shook his head.
"We have a specific goal, which is to find a legendary ghost."
"The legendary ghost?" Andrews frowned and repeated Severus's words.
In any case, Severus certainly couldn't just say they were there to find Voldemort's remnant soul; that would most likely scare Andrews away.
He could only choose another, more fitting way of saying it, which was more in line with travel and adventure.
"Yes, a ghost that is said to wander in the forests of Albania. I once saw a story about it in the restricted section of the Hogwarts Library. This ghost is related to Ravenclaw's daughter, one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He once mistakenly killed the person he loved in the forest and committed suicide out of guilt. His obsession turned him into a ghost that wanders around all day."
It was clear that neither Andrews nor Lupin were hearing this story for the first time.
It's like a legend, but it has many more details than most legends, making it seem more real.
Even after Severus finished speaking, Andrews still asked, puzzled.
"What is your connection to this ghost? And what do you want to do to find him?"
Severus had already come up with a reason, and he said in a low voice.
Have you ever heard of the legendary Ravenclaw tiara?
Andrews' eyes widened immediately.
"That relic that is said to bring people unparalleled wisdom!"
"That's right, it's said to have been stolen and hidden in the forests of Albania!"
