Chapter 143 The Right Decision

Chapter 143 The Right Decision

"I've already received enough help from you. If you can, please take Mary out of here for me and protect her. You don't need to worry about me anymore."

In response to Rozier's plea, Lupin, who was running at full speed, only managed to speak between breaths.

“If a nine-year-old boy has enough courage to decide to rescue you, don’t you have enough courage to go against them?”

“It’s not that I’m afraid to go against them!” Rozier said with a desolate expression. “If it were just me, I wouldn’t be afraid of anything, but they’re using Mary to blackmail me, and now they’re dragging you all into this!”

"This is hardly a problem. Even if it weren't for you, we would still have to confront these people eventually!"

Lupin heard the whooshing sound of the skateboard and turned around to see two goblins catching up from behind!

When Lupin realized that not all three of them were chasing after him, his expression darkened. The goblins' choice was somewhat unexpected, which made him start to worry about Harry's situation.

But the moment Narrak and Black Melon spotted Lupin, they didn't hesitate at all and immediately raised their wands.

A barrage of spells shot towards Lupin!

Relying on his own evasion, he dodged most of the spells, but some still hit the armor spells he had repaired after escaping from the minister's office.

Fortunately, the spells of these two fairies were not as powerful as Vader's, so Lupin was able to barely hold on and even find openings to organize a counterattack.

However, the goblins riding on flying skateboards possessed far greater mobility than Lupin, who ran on two legs. Lupin's spells had virtually no chance of hitting them, and with the goblins' continuous attacks, they were clearly able to shatter the armored spell completely in no time.

After discovering this situation, Lupin made a choice!

He stopped with Rozier, turning around to face the two goblins on skateboards.

Narrak and Blackclaw, one in front and one behind, completely blocked Lupin's retreat. A large number of Madago cats had also gathered around them, trying to use the walls on both sides to rush into the air and pounce on the two goblins.

But the efforts of these Ministry of Magic guards were in vain. Narrak and his companions moved their skateboards very cautiously, giving the black cats no chance at all.

“Wizard, this Squib has nothing to do with you. It was Vida who specifically requested him. As long as you hand him over to us, we can have absolutely no conflict!”

Narrak stared coldly at Lupin, wand in hand, clearly not wanting to engage in a more intense battle with the formidable wizard before him.

Now that they've managed to get to the French Ministry of Magic, it means they've achieved their ultimate goal. Capturing Rosier was an order given by Vida, and she also said that if they really couldn't bring him back, they shouldn't force it.

Therefore, if this matter can be resolved by avoiding danger as much as possible, that would naturally be what the fairies would like to see.

Lupin didn't speak immediately. He simply straightened his robes, slowed his breathing, which was a little rapid from exhaustion, and finally calmly met Narrak's eyes.

"Do you know what the consequences will be if it's exposed that you've violated the ban on fairy wands and obtained that thing?"

His words enraged Black Claw on the other side, who flew into a rage on his skateboard.

"Consequences? We simply reclaimed the power that was rightfully ours! It was you cunning wizards who deliberately used this method to exploit us!"

“Exploitation?” Lupin’s voice was calm. “This is the punishment you deserved after your defeat. It’s a way out you blocked for yourselves.”

"No need to say anything more to him, Black Claw."

Narrak loudly stopped Blackclaw from continuing his argument with Lupin, speaking condescendingly as if he could see right through Lupin's thoughts.

“I know you’re trying to stall for time so the rest of the Ministry of Magic will discover our intrusion. There’s no point in talking to a fool like you who can’t understand interests; you can’t comprehend us.”

"Then who else can understand you?" Lupin just stared at him. "The Dark Lord you speak of?"

Narrak and Blackclaw exchanged a glance, then gave each other a disdainful sneer.

"Probably, if you consider us his subordinates, then you're right!"

The two goblins had raised their wands again, and Narrak had given Lupin an ultimatum.

"Hand this kid over to us, and we might spare your life!"

But Lupin had already made the first move.

"Thunderbolt explosion!"

A tremendous roar echoed from the ceiling of the corridor.

Narlak clearly hadn't expected Lupin to be so decisive, but their advantage of being able to move quickly on skateboards became apparent at this moment.

The two fairies quickly lowered their skateboards, and the fairy-made flying skateboards emitted a piercing shriek. At the same time, the two of them waved their magic wands together.

An explosion, even more powerful than the Explosive Spell Lupin unleashed, suddenly erupted around him, igniting flames. Dozens of the Madago cats who had seen the goblin lower his altitude and attempt high leaps were caught in the blast and were thrown into the air.

As for Lupin and Rozier, the Ironclad Charm helped them withstand the final blow, and then they shattered completely like glass being smashed by a boulder!
"I don't know what to do!"

Narrak cursed, then continued chanting incantations at Lupin while propelling his skateboard.

However, this seemingly young-looking but weathered and down-on-his-luck wizard turned out to be much more troublesome than he had anticipated!

Lupin was also protecting someone, and despite being completely immobilized, he was still able to continue fighting with the two fairies.

But while Narlak and his companion remained calm, Lupin grew increasingly anxious.

He can handle these two goblins, but what about Harry?
Harry is just a nine-year-old boy!

Although he had a wand and learned spells, even if a proper upperclassman from Hogwarts came, they wouldn't be able to deal with any of the three goblins, let alone Harry, a child who had never even been to Hogwarts.
Just as Lupin gritted his teeth, determined to capture one of the two goblins no matter what, to ensure that even if Harry was captured, there would be a hostage to exchange for him.

A figure riding a flying broomstick suddenly charged straight at Narrak like a rocket!
Narrak barely had time to react before his companion Blackclaw shoved him away.

The flying broom flew swiftly between the two, then made a beautiful spin about twenty meters away from them.

Both Lupin on the ground and the two fairies flying in the air were shocked to see the boy riding a flying broomstick.

"Ha, Dali!!"

Lupin nearly blurted out Harry's identity on the spot; his eyes widened as if he had seen something unbelievable.

Narrak and Black Claw, who had narrowly escaped death, were also stunned. They stared at the boy who had made a dazzling entrance, and quickly realized that if this boy were here now, the pesos would be...
As if confirming their suspicions, Harry, with a victor's smile on his face, pulled out a corner of a skateboard from the bag in front of him that everyone present recognized.

"If you don't get there to help soon, your friend is going to be torn to pieces!"

Narrak's ugly face, which resembled a rotten orange, turned bright red at a visible speed; he looked extremely angry.

"That idiot Peso!"

Black Claw was at a loss. He didn't know what to do. What puzzled him even more was how a seasoned goblin like Peso, a leader of an underground gang, could possibly lose to a child!
"go!"

Narlak, however, reacted faster than him.

Capturing Rozier isn't necessary, but if Peso dies here or falls into the hands of the French Ministry of Magic, that would ruin Vida's plan and get them into serious trouble.

The two fairies quickly disappeared down the corridor on their skateboards.

Harry then landed on his broomstick next to Lupin.

"Quick, Remus! Can this broom support two people? You grab Rozier and get on top of it!"

Without hesitation, Lupin continued to hold onto Rozier, who was under the Zombie Flying Charm, and rode on the flying broomstick with Harry.

They had to leave as soon as possible. Who knew if those two fairies would give up after finding their companions and come back to find them again!
Even as he sat on the broom, Lupin could not hide his shock.

"how did you do it?"

Harry said excitedly.

"Riding brooms! And those black cats! We executed a brilliant teamwork, and together we took down that fairy!"

"Riding a broom?"

Lupin then suddenly realized that he was just sitting on a broom, while Harry, wielding the Nimbus 1700 Quidditch Pro-Class broom, was as skilled and fluid as a real Quidditch player!
This made Lupin feel even more disoriented.

Previously, Lupin's feelings toward the so-called savior prophecy were more of hatred.

It was that vague prophecy that caused him to lose his two friends, James and Lily.

But now, Lupin was actually starting to believe it!

Despite growing up in the terrible educational environment of his aunt's house, Harry didn't pick up any bad habits. Instead, he inherited all the good qualities and talents of his parents.

Sitting behind Harry, watching Harry's excited and joyful figure as he rode the broomstick, Lupin silently pondered.

perhaps
Severus made the right decision to take him away from the Dursleys!
