Chapter 231 The Real Trouble
Chapter 231 The Real Trouble
It was the dead of night, the moon was bright and the stars were few.
Torreto and his group arrived outside the boiler factory, reaching their designated starting point. They then began preparing the tools needed for the robbery, including the crucial vehicle, grappling hook guns, and firearms.
Weapons are necessary, but only for self-defense and intimidation, because I've heard that truck drivers are now carrying their own weapons, making robbery more troublesome than before. Without weapons, who knows who will rob whom?
"Do not shoot or kill unless absolutely necessary."
As the only member of the gang to be imprisoned for murder, Toretto reminded his brothers, "Robbery and murder are two different things, you know what I mean?"
He's not in a huge rush for money anymore; his partnership with Luca has made him quite a bit of money, but his brothers are short of cash.
So he stepped forward.
For my brothers.
"After we finish this job, everyone can take a long vacation."
Torreto called his brothers and girlfriend to get in the car, and they set off for the designated highway to rob a truck. No sooner had they left the boiler factory than several other vehicles followed them from a distance.
Vincent, holding binoculars and grappling hook gun, remarked, "These robbers are quite well-prepared."
Jack was driving. "According to the truck drivers, there was a group of robbers who used to use grappling hooks to attack trucks, force them to stop, and then steal the cargo. It now seems that it was Toretto's gang who did it."
Vincent nodded and immediately called for backup. Once Torretto and his men made a move and the evidence was conclusive, they were to be arrested and brought to justice.
The Los Angeles Police Department immediately dispatched officers and even a helicopter to the scene.
After making the necessary preparations, Vincent leaned back in his seat, staring thoughtfully at the car in front of him.
If the carjackers using grappling hooks were Toreto and his gang, then who the hell were the robbers who robbed the tanker truck at gunpoint before?
These don't seem to be the same group of people.
When Brian and Mia arrived at the boiler factory, the biker gang and the police had vanished without a trace.
Did your brother and the others tell you where you were going?
"All I know is the boiler factory."
Mia looked at the map in her hand. "But the places he's targeting should be around these highways. We can look for them."
Brian rubbed his head in exasperation. How long would it take to search like this?
He instinctively pulled out his phone to call his brother, reporting the situation. Then Luca accurately recited an address.
Brian looked surprised: "Old Pigeon, you know more than I do!"
Luca said calmly, "Don't forget I'm the guild leader. It doesn't matter where Toretto goes. I just need to know where he's going. And in this area, only one convoy of our guild's trucks passes by in the morning."
"."
Brian slapped his forehead. "Right, all I needed to know was where the truck came from!" he exclaimed. "How could I be so stupid!"
"Understood, Old Pigeon, I'll be right there!"
Brian immediately started the car and sped off to intercept Toretto. He swore he had never driven so fast in his life. The green Mitsubishi became a bolt of lightning.
It was already around six in the morning, and the sky was beginning to lighten.
By the time Brian caught up with Toretto's main force, the robbery had already begun. Vince used a grappling hook to pierce the windshield of the truck and firmly gripped the passenger seat.
The other end of the grappling hook rope was attached to a sports car, which followed the truck at the same speed and within a limited distance, ensuring that Vince could climb onto the truck by the rope.
Brian's face darkened when he saw Vince performing acrobatics.
Although he didn't particularly like this rival, seeing him take such a dangerous step made him break out in a cold sweat. If Vince were to get into trouble, it would be a major blow to Torreto's team.
If someone dies, Brian's plan for reconciliation will undoubtedly fail.
With that thought in mind, Brian pressed down hard on the accelerator, surging forward to run alongside Toretto's car.
"Dom! Get Vince back! Quick!" Brian yelled out the window, but the car's speed and the engine noise made his voice unclear.
"Brian?!"
Toreto looked surprised. Why was this kid here? But when he noticed his sister sitting in the passenger seat, his face immediately darkened.
I told you not to involve Mia in this, so why did she still come? And with Brian, an outsider, in the first place?
That brat! He seduced his own sister, but instead of protecting her, he brought her to a place like this.
"Who asked you to come?"
Torreto roared at Brian, "Get out of here! Now, immediately!"
Brian kept gesturing for a stop. "Dom! It's a trap! Stop right now! That's Old Pigeon's truck! You've stolen Old Pigeon's truck!"
Torreto looked at Brian, as if struck by lightning, with surprise and uncertainty. Luca's truck?
Recalling his interactions with Luca during this period, Toreto's expression changed several times, showing surprise, confusion, and a hint of regret. He figured Luca must have guessed that he was a robber. He had robbed trucks so many times, and Luca had come knocking on his door, but the other party had given him a large business deal.
Toreto's mind was a little confused for a moment, but with the car speeding along at high speed, he couldn't afford to think too much about other things.
Brian: "Stop! Are you going to steal Old Pigeon's truck too?!" Torretto took a deep breath and yelled at Vince: "Vince! Come back! Operation halted!"
Vince had already climbed onto the truck. Hearing this, he glanced at Brian with a resentful look, then removed the hook lock. After Toretto drove the car next to the truck, he jumped and lay on the roof.
The truck drove away from everyone's sight.
This operation ended in failure.
Everyone pulled over to the side of the road, and Vince stormed off to confront Brian, demanding, "What do you mean? What do you mean by 'your boss's truck'?"
Brian shoved him away forcefully: "I'm a senior member of the truck drivers' union! My boss is the president, so tell me, whose truck did you steal?!"
“That’s impossible!” Vince cursed. “I know the president of the Los Angeles union; he’s not your boss at all.”
"So what if he's the Los Angeles union president? Even the damn union chairman is my boss's man!"
Brian retorted, "Anyone on the East Coast knows who Luca the Pigeon is."
Vince cursed, "Fuck the East Coast, this is Los Angeles!"
"Stop arguing!" Torreto stepped in to separate the two. "Brian, I don't want to argue with you right now! But you have to explain this to me when we get back!"
"Haven't I made myself clear enough? You stole Old Pigeon's truck, he won't let you get away with it! Think about what happened to Johnny and the others! I'm saving you!"
“I wasn’t talking about the truck.”
Toreto pointed at Mia, "I'm talking about Mia. Remember what I said? If you dare to betray her, I'll smash your head in! No matter what your purpose was in getting close to Mia, I'm not letting this go! You owe me an explanation!"
Brian's face darkened; this was his brother-in-law!
I really don't know how to refute that.
Just then, the piercing sound of police sirens suddenly rang out all around.
Brian's expression changed. How did the police arrive so quickly? Faster than Old Pigeon?
Torreto's face darkened. He looked around and saw that police cars had blocked both ends of the road, and helicopters were circling overhead. There were police on all sides, and there was no room to escape.
This was a premeditated encirclement and suppression operation.
Toretto turned to look at his sister behind him and sighed. This was exactly what he had worried about: Mia being implicated when he was arrested for the crime.
But according to Murphy's Law, what you fear most is most likely to happen.
Now how to do?
Were both siblings arrested and imprisoned?
Torreto secretly decided that he had to take responsibility for this matter himself, and at least not involve his sister.
He looked up at the police car in the distance. A plainclothes policeman walked over. He recognized him—Vincent, a well-known detective in the Los Angeles Police Department.
Vincent led a group of armed police officers over, a confident expression on his face.
The operation was incredibly easy; the gang of motorcycle thieves was caught without much effort. It went so smoothly that even Vincent found it somewhat unbelievable.
Jack, standing nearby, also showed an excited expression. On the first day of training, they had successfully caught the motorcycle thief.
The serious crimes unit made the right choice in coming here.
"Take them all back." Vincent waved his hand.
Boom~~~
An even more frenzied engine roar came from afar. Vincent turned around and saw a black GTR brazenly driving into the crime scene.
The surrounding police officers all raised their guns in unison, but the next second, when the car door opened, an invisible wave emanated from it, and all the police officers lowered their pistols in fear.
Disarmament begins.
Luca opened the car door and walked up to Vincent, who inexplicably felt a pang of fear and didn't even have the courage to draw his gun.
"Officer Vincent, it's nice to see you again."
Vincent breathed a sigh of relief after Luca's voice softened and said, "Luca, didn't you want to catch the robbers who stole your car? Now these people are in my hands."
Turning around, Luca looked at Toretto and his group.
This small family of bikers gradually rose from the underground racetracks of Los Angeles to the international stage of crime, all because of a truck robbery.
In the original storyline, Torreto was wanted by the police, but Brian took pity on him and let him go. Torreto then fled abroad and continued to commit robberies in Mexico and Brazil.
Until the Braga incident, Torreto returned to Los Angeles to avenge his girlfriend.
Then came the story of Brian and Mia hijacking a prison van and becoming international fugitives.
Luca was curious to know what would have become of these family heroes if they hadn't been wanted and hadn't been dragged into the mess.
“Officer Vincent, you’ve arrested the wrong person. Torreto and the others are my men.”
Upon hearing this, Vincent's heart skipped a beat, and his face instantly darkened.
No wonder things went so smoothly before. It turns out the real trouble was with Luca, the chairman.
Torreto and the others looked at Luca with surprise. Was this big shot, who had made the Triads apologize with just one sentence, going to protect them?
