Chapter 215: Abandoning Darkness and Turning to Light

Chapter 215: Abandoning Darkness and Turning to Light
In the ward.

Rock looked at the gun in his hand, but felt no sense of security. The sudden turn of events was hard for him to accept.

However, as those in power within the system, compromise and adaptability are basic qualities. For example, in order to save Spallanzan, the plan was changed at the last minute, resulting in the sacrifice of many FBI agents.

This was originally something very few people knew about; its success would have been a cause for great celebration, and the deaths of some unsuspecting agents wouldn't have mattered. But now that the plan has failed, everything that follows is a remedial measure to minimize the negative impact.

He looked up at Montgomery, the supervisor from New York, who was one of the few who knew the truth.

The more you know, the more involved you become, and while the returns are high, so are the risks. Who will take the blame if things go wrong?
Montgomery? Brian?

"How did Buddy and Spallanzan die?" Rock asked Luca.

Luca: "Buddy died of heart failure. Spallanzan was already near death and couldn't make it. But thankfully, I'm here to see Mr. Spallanzan off on his final journey. He should have died without regrets."

"Luca, it was clearly you and Brian who did it!"

Seeing Luca blatantly lying, Montgomery was furious. He quickly explained to Deputy Director Rock, "Sir, please let me explain. Luca not only killed the Spallanzan father and son, but also openly attacked federal law enforcement officers and hijacked a hospital. This is blatant terrorism, and we cannot compromise with him."

Listening to Montgomery's nervous explanation, Brian seemed to see his own reflection in him. He had also faced a similar desperate situation before, and now Montgomery was the prey trapped in the cage.

And it was Old Pigeon who turned things around.

Brian looked at the man standing beside him, his feelings incredibly complex. Sure enough, there was nothing Old Pigeon couldn't solve.

The FBI was the one who wanted to harm him, but the Mafia was the one who saved him.

At this moment, Brian could no longer distinguish between justice and evil. Perhaps it didn't depend on one's stance, clothing, or situation, but rather on the kind of person one was.

Despite knowing his true identity, Old Pigeon still chose to trust and help him, even at the cost of going against the FBI. Brian felt he could never repay this debt of gratitude in his lifetime.

At this moment, Montgomery was still trying to fight for himself, but Luca was getting impatient. He squinted and said, "Director Rock, what are you waiting for? Are you waiting for more support? I need to remind you that if I don't see the situation I want today, it won't just be a matter of whether the scandal is exposed or not. I believe you are a smart man and know what to do."

"Madmen!!" Rock cursed inwardly. "These damn Falkman Mafia members!"
He couldn't win by force, and with so many agents guarding the hospital, how could these assassins still manage to get right up to his face? Rock felt it was utterly absurd.

How come Pigeon has so many psychopathic assassins under his command?
What puzzled him even more was where Luca got all this information from? It had been decades, and it was clearly top secret of the FBI, known only to a few tight-lipped old guys.

They were constrained at every turn and had no chance of turning the tide.

Rock sighed and asked Luca, "Pigeon, is it worth it?" He glanced at Brian, "Just for an undercover agent?"

"Is it worth it? You shouldn't even be asking that question," Luca said calmly. "This isn't something that can be measured by value. Do I need to explain to you what I want to do?"

After saying that, Luca raised his hand to check the time. "Hurry up. I know you're waiting for reinforcements, but I can guarantee that if you don't make a move before your FBI reinforcements arrive, you'll all be going to die with Spallanzan and his son."

Montgomery panicked, "Chief, please don't!"

boom!
Before Montgomery could finish speaking, a bullet struck him between the eyebrows.

Rock handed the gun back to Luca. "Pigeon, are you satisfied now? In this incident, Keith Montgomery unilaterally broke Buddy's witness protection agreement and colluded with Spallanzan to steal Buddy's heart, but died in the melee of assassins. That's what happened. Without Heller as an undercover agent, he would never have existed. There is only Spallanzan, and I don't want to hear anything about Heller!"

Luca nodded in satisfaction. These people really know how to think fast; they're all incredibly skilled at shifting blame.

“Chief Rock is indeed a smart man. Well then, I’ll give you a gift too,” Luca said with a smile. “I can help you capture those assassins who participated in the hotel brawl. That way, you’ll at least have something to report when you go back.”

Rock's eyes flickered. The hospital incident couldn't be exposed, but the hotel incident was already known to everyone. If he could catch those troublemaking killers, he could even gain some merit.

Thinking about it this way, Rock immediately felt much better.

At least the trip wasn't a complete waste. Although we failed to complete our plan to crack down on the Mafia, we at least caught a group of killers who were a threat to public safety.

"And one more thing."

Luca held out his hand. "Delete Brian's file. I don't want to hear anything about Agent Brian anymore. Just pretend the FBI never had a person named Brian."

Rock glanced at Brian, whose eyes were gleaming with excitement, and said helplessly, "What difference does it make whether I delete it or not? When Brian betrayed us, his file was already meaningless. He had already been automatically removed from the list. The FBI won't admit to having cultivated another Mafia member."

He grasped Luca's hand. "Luca, I've never seen a mafia boss like you before. I'm curious, if one day you faced the same choice I'm making today, needing to sacrifice your men to save yourself, what would you do?"

Luca raised the corner of his mouth: "A qualified leader would not allow this to happen. Pleasant cooperation, Director Rock."

When Brian walked out of the ward, he found that the hospital did not look like it had just experienced a major battle, much less a terrorist attack. The agents guarding the hospital were still there.

After hearing Leon's explanation, Brian realized that Leon and his team had carried out a decapitation strike, directly breaking through some of the FBI's defenses and finding Deputy Director Rock.

When everyone arrived at the lobby on the first floor, all the FBI agents gathered there and confronted Luca and his group. Outside the door, the piercing sound of police sirens could be clearly heard, and more and more FBI agents and police officers arrived to provide support.

Seeing this, Rock finally breathed a sigh of relief. With so much support arriving, his safety was assured. He figured Luca wouldn't dare to fight so many people.

"FBI!"

"Police officers, put your hands up where I can see them!"

"Chief, are you alright?"

Just as Rock was about to speak, a majestic voice came from beside him.

"Get out of the way!"

[Disarmament] To initiate.

In an instant, an indescribable aura emanated from Luca and spread outwards. Within a radius of 50 meters, whether they were government officials, assassins, or members of the mafia, they all subconsciously felt an indescribable emotion—fear, panic, cowardice, peace, positive or negative, depending on the individual. Everyone's feelings were different, and all sorts of emotions intertwined, forcing them to have a thought.

—Don't attack, or something terrible will happen. In unison, almost everyone did the same thing, putting down their weapons.

Make way for the crowd.

Luca, accompanied by his men, walked confidently through the crowd in front of a group of police officers. Almost every police officer and FBI agent on both sides stared at the tall, slender black figure with awe and solemnity, listening to the steady and powerful sound of his footsteps.

No one dared to step forward and stop them.

It wasn't until after Luca and his group left that many people realized their backs were soaked with cold sweat.

Rock also subconsciously wiped the sweat from his forehead, his wariness of Luca growing even stronger.

If all the Mafia families were led by bosses like Luca, would the FBI really have a chance of winning?
"Luca the Pigeon"

Rock sighed. Why think so much now?
He didn't want to catch Luca and the other Mafia members; he just wanted to make a name for himself, climb the ranks, and gain more power.

If cooperation is more advantageous than seizing...
Vegas, the exit from the city.

A mechanic standing next to Arthur said, "The final payment has arrived."

Arthur nodded, then turned to Luca. "Pigeons, we're off now. Have fun in Vegas. Contact me anytime if you need anything, but I hope next time will be simple. I'm better at killing than kidnapping the FBI director."

Luca thought to himself that he used to think the same way when he was an assassin, but now that he has more brothers around him, he has to think more about things.

He shook hands with Arthur. "How has your master been lately?"

"same as usual."

"I'll visit him in New Orleans when I have time."

"Welcome to visit us."

A cheater.

Luca could only describe Arthur with these two words: Arthur's favorite tricks, besides causing others to die unexpectedly, also involve faking his own death to escape. Every time he dies unexpectedly, he changes his identity and continues to live a carefree life. Few people know that he is still alive, and even his enemies think he is dead.

A glimmer of hope. This is equivalent to an invincible skill.

This skill is particularly suitable for lone assassins.

If Night Demon possessed this skill, he would truly be invincible in the world.

The other skills are mostly killer skills, except for Deadly Tenderness.

Who could believe that Arthur, who seems aloof, would actually get himself into trouble to rescue a woman he had just met, almost losing his life in the process?

However, Arthur probably doesn't know the other person yet.

Arthur's master is still alive.

When they came to their senses, Arthur and his group's car had already driven far away, becoming a small black dot in the desert highway.

Brian watched the other person leave, then grinned and approached Old Pigeon, "Old Pigeon, where are we going now?"

"Have you forgotten that you still have a mission?"

Luca said irritably, "My GTR is still with Toreto, go and keep an eye on it!"

"Oh, no problem!"
