Chapter 310 Interrogation
Police station.

After Su Miaoyi and the others arrived, they waited for a sign language interpreter for a while.

Chu Xingrou felt a little uneasy as she stood next to Su Miaoyi, her fingers fiddling with Su Miaoyi's pants.

Su Miaoyi looked at her: "What's wrong?"

"I'm a little nervous," Chu Xingrou said. "What if it's not Tian Min? We'll reopen her wounds."

Chu Xingrou always felt sorry for Tian Min because of what she had gone through.

"Won't this worsen her condition?" Chu Xingrou asked.

“She is now a prime suspect.” Su Miaoyi shifted slightly to the side, but Chu Xingrou followed suit. “This is a necessary procedure.”

Chu Xingrou nodded and didn't say anything more, but her fingers continued to fiddle with Su Miaoyi's pants.

Su Miaoyi looked at her, then at her fingers, then at her own pants and thighs. Her lips moved, but in the end she didn't say anything.

Once the sign language interpreter arrived, they went to see Tian Min.

She entered the interrogation room with Chu Xingrou, Duan Wenrui, and a sign language interpreter.

Su Miaoyi was never interrogated in the Jinghai interrogation room.

However, this time, with the application for handling the case in a different location, she can enter the interrogation room for questioning.

When Tian Min saw them, she gestured with her hands.

The sign language interpreter said, "She said, 'Why did you bring me here?'"

“We need to ask some questions,” Chu Xingrou said. “Just answer truthfully.”

Tian Min looked at them, then at the video recording on the side, and nodded.

"Have you seen this before?" Su Miaoyi took out the mask.

Tian Min was startled when she saw the mask. She waved her hand, paused, and then gestured with her hand.

She said, "I saw you holding it at the scene of my father's death."

"Besides that one time?" Su Miaoyi asked.

Tian Min shook her head.

Looking at her expression, Su Miaoyi asked after a few seconds, "Where were you the day Wan Shuang died?"

She gave a specific date and a time period.

Wan Shuang was murdered that morning.

The sign language interpreter looked at Tian Min and then said, "She said, 'I stayed home all day and didn't go out.'"

"Haven't you gone out at all?" Su Miaoyi asked again.

Tian Min nodded, then shook her head.

She said, "I went out to buy glue once that night. I was making a storage box at home all day. By evening, I had run out of glue, so I went to buy some more."

"Making storage boxes?"

Tian Min nodded.

Sign language interpreter: "I often make things with small sticks. Sometimes I work all day without even eating. I used up all the glue I bought that night, and bought another one the next morning. I just happened to run into you. I saw you at the convenience store. I still keep the storage boxes I made at home."

“When we went to your house, we didn’t see anything you made,” Su Miaoyi said.

A hint of sadness crossed Tian Min's expression.

“My mother doesn’t like me making those things, so I usually put them away. Otherwise, if she sees them, she’ll smash them, throw them away, or burn them,” the sign language interpreter said.

"What do you think of Wan Shuang?" Su Miaoyi asked.

Tian Min bit her lip, but didn't move her hand. After a while, she raised her hand to gesture.

“I don’t like Aunt Wan Shuang. She speaks very harshly, and she does it on purpose for me to hear. I don’t like her. So I avoid her whenever possible. Otherwise, she always says hurtful things as if she’s joking, and I don’t like that.” “What has she said?” Su Miaoyi asked.

Tian Min looked at her, her eyes trembled slightly, and she didn't move for a long time.

Duan Wenrui wanted to urge her to speak quickly, but Su Miaoyi stopped him. They waited for Tian Min to raise her hand and move.

“She said that Aunt Wan Shuang said I seduced men and slept with them to earn money to pay off my father’s gambling debts. Every time I saw Aunt Wan Shuang, she would greet me very warmly, but as soon as I left, Aunt Wan Shuang would say such things. Actually, I could hear it all. I don’t like people saying that about me. I didn’t do it. I have never done such a thing, but no one believes me. Many people don’t believe me.”

As she gestured, Tian Min's eyes reddened.

“Some people believe it,” Su Miaoyi said. “We all believe it.”

Tian Min looked at them, pursed her lips, and tears fell down her cheeks.

Chu Xingrou handed her a tissue.

Su Miaoyi then asked, "Did Gao Hui say something similar?"

Tian Min looked at her.

She asked, "Who is Gao Hui?"

“Tian De’s wife,” Su Miaoyi said.

Tian Min nodded.

“Gao Hui also said these things, even worse than these. Gao Hui also said that she saw me being intimate with a man from another village on the mountain. Her words were very nasty and explicit. Gao Hui is always spreading rumors and talking nonsense. I hate her too. I don’t want to see them, so in the village, unless I have work to do in the fields or something to buy, I won’t go out.”

"You were at your aunt's dried fruit shop. Why are you back? When did you get back?" Su Miaoyi asked.

"The crops in the fields need weeding, pest control, and pesticide spraying, several times a day, so we came back. We've been back for almost ten days now, and we have to wait another ten days or so until the pesticides are finished before we can go back," the sign language interpreter said.

"Wu An is Wu Guaizi, what do you think of him?" Su Miaoyi kept observing her expression.

Tian Min shook her head.

“I rarely see Wu Guaizi. He lives far from my home, and I don’t go out much. I know he exists, but I don’t know much about him.”

"I heard your mother say yesterday that your father once wanted to sell you? Is that true?" Su Miaoyi asked.

As she said this, Tian Min held the tissue in her hand, and after a while, she began to gesture.

"She said, 'My father gambled in another village and owed a lot of money. At that time, there was a family whose son was mentally challenged and wanted to get married, offering a large dowry. My father wanted to marry me off to that family. My mother disagreed, saying that my father was selling his daughter. My brothers took out knives and said that if I married that mentally challenged man, they would kill my father. That's how my father gave up the idea, and he never mentioned it again. The story my mother told me about selling her daughter should be this one. There's nothing else.'"

"Do you hate your father?" Su Miaoyi asked.

Tian Min gestured a few times.

"Is it okay if I don't want to answer this question?"

Su Miaoyi looked at her.

Tian Min lowered her head.

Su Miaoyi looked at her for a while, then stopped asking the question. Instead, she remained silent for a moment, twirled the document in her hand, and asked, "Why didn't you call the police when Tian Dajiang bullied you back then?"

Tian Min frowned, a hint of resentment creeping onto her face.

Tears welled up in her eyes again, and she began to gesture with her hands much faster and with more force.

The sign language interpreter looked at her and then said, "She said my parents felt ashamed, and my father needed the money, so they settled it privately."

 Goodnight everybody.

  That's all for now.

I had a stomachache last night and had a bad feeling. Sure enough, I started my period today and I feel extremely weak.

  good night.
